Maybe but the decks are more degenerate though.
I am not even sure if that is true... There are no strong combo decks in Standard atm, so I believe Wild draws a lot of fans of that archetype to play quest mage,a Razampriest and Mecha'thun locl, even though the decks are not the best in the format imo.
Jade druid (value), pirate warrior (board aggro) and Secret mage (tempo/burn aggro) and Cubelock (flexible mid-range) are damn strong, though.
I would honestly say there are degenerate things, even for Wild standards. Wild DH is just Standard DH times two. Secret Mage - it's "you don't play" kind of deck, which on top of that is an aggro! Wild Priest is, similarly to DH, just its Standard version, but x2. Quest Mage and Mecha Lock are basically exodias - you stall till you have your pieces.
Now I don't say this to complain, I enjoy Wild. What I am saying is that I get this "degenerate" thing. Historically people hate:
- ultra aggro decks
- "you don't play" decks
- control decks which don't actually have a win condition, but are mostly focused on draining you out of resources and outhealing you (Priest)
- exodias, which play with themselves
Well, Wild has all of them at the same time, they are all good and they have much more tools to execute their gameplans than any of their iterations in Standard ever had. I mean if you consider the above mentioned gamestyles "degenerate" - and many do - then Wild is pretty much degenerate.

I check back here every day to see the emergency round of quest nerfs announced.
Im always disappointed.
Did they really intend them to complete this fast???
Couldnt have. Could they?
Is it possible they are functioning as anticipated?
Wouldnt that be super frightening?

IMHO Shamanstone was the worst. It is a scary situation when a mid-range deck reaches S tier. It beats aggro, it beats control, it beats combo. You either play it or perhaps another mid-range deck and hope to draw better. (or maybe you can target you deck a bit, but it is really hard to tech vs. Mid-range.)
At least in the current meta you can play combo or aggro. Back then you either played Shaman or suffered for the most part.
I have no love for this meta. I really dislike the ease in which the quests can be completed. They are just too fast. By a lot. But, I don't really love the strength of the aggro decks either. They are also too fast. The game in general is tuned too fast right now.

Well done!

I think all the quest rewards should have gone up in cost significantly. I guess they didnt want to refund all that dust.
Look, all I would like to see is some form of counterplay for well... everything. Not all at once, but if you decide you never want to lose to a specific thing it would be nice if you could craft a deck that can counter it.
I suppose aggro IS intended as a counter to the quests. But I would like something more reactive. Maybe a card to reset quest progress? It can be a really dead card for every other match, but having the option to have it would make me feel better.

I think it has been about 2 months now since Ive played standard. Maybe longer.
I was playing a ton of duels, but the latest expansion sort of made doing that less pleasurable.
I cant say there really has been a card made that I want to play with since that 5/4 demon that shuffles 3 primes into your deck. That was literally the last time a card captured my interest.
Shame about duels though. It was quite fun until the new quests came out.
Now I just dont know. I think maybe Hearthstone left me more than I left it. Will be a shame to leave after building a library so many years. But, that is the direction they are moving.
Sad

:squinty eyes:
They just turned Priest into Hunter. If you like that style of deck you could already play it.

I think they might. I wouldnt be terribly surprised if there was a cap though. 50k gold and 50k dust or something likr that.

Why can't I love Face Hunter? Life would be so much better. The deck is always good.
Instead I only like terrible decks. Something seriously wrong with me.

I know folks dont generally like long games, but dont people like variety?
Wouldnt it be nice to face a control deck now and then, just for some variety?
I get it. Blizz hates control. They hate games going past turn 7.
I for one would love to see more control and disruption in Hearthstone. Give me walls. Hand destruction. Mana denial. Not just a splash, give me enough to make it a strategy. Give me alternate ways to compete.
Please.

I guess it really doesnt matter, but a few sentences from Blizz on what they are doing would have made this much better.
Would that really have been so hard?
