I was never really a WoW player and I think Hearthstone has always done a good job at being accessible to people who don't know (and don't care to learn) about the genealogy and curriculum vitae of the VanCleef family, or what have you. 

I sometimes think "I wonder why that character says that" when I hear a legendary voice line (who are these lapdogs that Edwin's so upset with?) but that's about the extent of it. 

The only comparable example I can think of from Hearthstone was that one generated by Elite Tauren Chieftan that said "Summon a Random Horde Warrior. I figured they'd moved away from that sort of design because it required knowledge of WoW to interpret.

As far as I can tell you can't even search your collection for "Horde" and "Alliance," which seems like an even bigger oversight. The deck manager for regular Hearthstone is pretty good for that kind of thing these days. 

Imagine if you're completely new to the IP and you're expected to know which type of elf goes where.

I'm guessing it'll be changed soon.

 You know, it never really occurred to me that anyone playing Hearthstone would come from a background of zero knowledge of the lore ahead of time. I mean, "fresh-start-never-even-seen-an-orc-before-why-is-that-one-dude-so-short" green to the universe.

For me it was my love of Warcraft lore that got me into this game and keeps me here.

It would be interesting to know just how many current HS players started from scratch - like, just saw the game in the mobile store and thought... hey, that looks neat.

Looking at it from that perspective, they definitely should add some tooltips or something to help players understand the difference, since it actually matters for gameplay.

We have a limited number of keywords in constructed because they want to make the game simple and easy to understand for new players... so... yeah. Should cover all their bases, then, eh?

 I got into Hearthstone because a friend who was trying to get me into Magic the Gathering thought it would be a nice middleground with less of an entrance fee. Now 6 years later I'm supposed to know different factions just to buff certain characters in a completely unrelated yet still related game type.

I went from facing Minionless mage 8/10 games last expansion to 10/10 games this expansion, pretty hype.

Worst was Octobot, but it only took me 2 tries. Probably wouldn't have been so frustrating if I didn't have PTSD by now from spell-only decks.

The most recent time I roped on purpose was against a Warlock who had lethal on board, then twisting nethered for the BM. I just got up and left, that guy wasted his own time.

I beat every Heroic boss (lady vashj and kel'thas included) using either Tickatus control warlock or token druid.

2 Mana: Give a friendly minion +1/+1. If you have no minions, then it becomes what it currently is of a random totem.

The Meta where that weird shaman legendary would spend 20 minutes per battlecry and resummon itself. Didn't touch the game for 2 years after that blunder.

I've been tracking the classes I see, and whether I win, lose, or one of us forfeits before turn 2 (technical difficulties or whatever). In 91 games played since the expansion, I've seen 29 Mage players, 13 Warlocks, between 5-9 for every other class except rogue, and just now played my first game against a rogue this set. My data set is from silver.

Just curious if anyone else has their own data points. 

I'm currently 82, I let my quests pile up saturday and sunday so mondays I have 6 quests to do, then I come back on wednesday and friday to knock out the 2 quests I acquire. I've been really lucky with how many quests want me to play the same class. Cuts down on the mages I see.

I don't need to watch GM to know how disgusting that card is. I already see it enough on turn 2.

The bazaar really got my goat when ~90 steps in I misclicked and ended up buying all my gold's worth in axes. 

Is that an upside? The last time I tried to play Classic was this week and had a 40 minute estimated queue.

Really gotta hand it to Blizzard making a class so RNG dependent that no one wants to play against them. My daily quest today was to play 3 games as Mage and it's the fastest I ever finished a quest, as two out of three people conceded before the mulligan phase.

After entering into the 6th or 8th mage in a row of the day.
