posted a message on New Hearthstone Cinematic - Here’s the Plan! (Dalaran Heist Adventure)

I was at first wanting this to be secretly serious.. that is the others are silly or quasi silly, with Lazul being mysterious and Rafaam acting silly until we find out his real plan, which is flat out dark and frightening.

After this.. forget it, they can do whatever they want.

Everyone planning normal ideas, Boom comes in with something crazy, and "YES, SOMEONE finally got the plan!" from the one who's ideas all blow up.

And it looks like it's going to work.

Seriously, if the single player's story is a lot more of this, I'm buying all 5 wings.

The thread should have ended on DOOM!. There are no cards that start with ! ...maybe DOOM! in spanish?

I thought of that, but realized that the rule is 'last letter'.  '!' isn't a letter.  Neither is '...'.

Here's an odd question: We're all talking about what to do about requests, but..what if YOU are the requester?

How often do you get ragefests if YOU are the one initiating the friend request?  I imagine that you get a lot of people not accepting but I can also imagine that the ones that accept are probably more likely to be very nice.

You don't really have to worry about photoshopping pictures being sent to Blizzard.  Blizzard has logs of everything.  Your report is just so that they know where to look to find the real evidence.  So if you send fake information, they'll look it up, find it didn't happen, then go after you for it.  If you're honest, they'll find out too.

So yeah, feel free to report.

I imagine they can't put up an easy report in game since it probably floods so much with fake/revenge reports that they can't keep up with it anymore.  THus making it a bit more difficult means only serious requests.  Sucks but there you go.

Sidenote: A great option for friend handling if you want to add friends but don't like the hate is to wait a few hours.  I found that waiting until my next session to accept the request means that any of the hate they would've done is forgotten.  I've been doing this for over 3 years and have yet to hear a negative statement.  it DOES mean you don't get to talk about your last game though.  But I'm anti-social so a large group of friends that don't chat is a positive for me :P.

    Quote from Zion7 >>

Of course they hear us, it's unofficial because of how PR works but there's zero way the employees who design the game itself aren't at least taking a peek at the 3 largest discussion forums about their own game from time to time. They are players as well, so I'm sure they have their own thoughts on balance and talk about it just like the rest of us. I'm sure most of them have an account on Hpwn and HSreddit, but of course they aren't going to reveal who they are, unless they plan to make an official statement (which does happen from time to time).

It's actually quite normal for Blizzard to speak up on Reddit and beyond official statements.  They also respond VERY regularly to facebook responses.  They aren't nearly as active as some other companies, but the whole "Blizzard is hiding from us." is unique to Hearthpwn.

Blizzard DOES read and speak to customer comments/posts/whatever.

They just don't do it HERE.

I don't think Zilliax needs nerfing either (it isn't that strong), but I'm just guessing it may get HoF'ed for the same reason some of the Witchwood cards did, it's a card that's being seen so much in so many decks that's practically considered an auto-include and potentially overshadows cards in the next 2 expansions. Not sure if Blizzard wants another year of Zilliax being in the majority of decks. I mean, I run Zilliax in literally every deck and it's never a bad play... isn't that kind of silly from a card design stand point?

btw comparing ZIlliax to Lich King is laughable for so many reasons that I couldn't list them all, I don't know what you were thinking when you said that. LK was a niche card that rarely even saw play outside of some specific ctrl decks... what in the world did that have to do with ZIlliax.

They don't HoF in between rotations.

Zilliax naturally rotates out next rotation.

So if they are going to do anything with him, it'll be a nerf, not a HoF.

Yea well I can think of 6 guys from Witchwood that would like to have word about what you just said lol.

Blizzard rotates cards in the spring.  Cards naturally rotate after 2 years if they aren't Classic/Basic.  Cards can be pushed to Wild via HoF at this time as well.

The Witchwood cards were HoFed during the spring rotation.  That they weren't Classic is a new situation, but it was still HoFed during rotation.  Meanwhile, Blizzard stated their intentions of HoFing Ice Block in the summer of 2017 and flat out said that the only reason why they weren't nerfing it was because they wanted it HoFed...and they STILL waited until the spring rotation to HoF it.

Zilliax is being used just as much now as he was last year, a LOT.  And he didn't get rotated along with the witchwood cards.  That means the next time he'll have a chance to rotate will be spring of 2020..which is when he naturally gets rotated out.

Also note that the only reason why Baku/Genn was HoFed was because they could not figure out a way to nerf it without gutting it and there was too much demand to keep the cards to see them gutted.  If they could've found a way to nerf it to a usable but reasonable level they would've nerfed instead of HoFed.

With rotation already past us, Zilliax would need a @($)#@)( good reason to

    1. be marked a problem

    2. be marked a card we can't nerf without killing it.

    3. be a card we don't want to kill

    4. be a card we can't wait for next year to let go away naturally.

Chances are, even if we CAN get a consensus for the first three, by the time we get that consensus we'll be in next winter, then Blizzard will just wait for the natural rotation anyway.  That's why I'm saying that if Zilliax is ever deemed a problem it'll get nerfed, not HoFed.

I've heard someone say that they heard that they have been here.  But I've seen no sign of them doing so.  I deem this place as out of their view and mostly just us talking to each other.  Folks who want to talk to blizzard should either use reddit or, to be sure you're talking to THEM, their own twitter pages.
As far as the ideas, most of them sound ok.  The one about voting wouuld be neat.  They could just do it for one card per expansion and make it a pretty big event.
As far as tournaments, ther'e s a VERY big thread about it so best just to read that for discussions on the matter.
As far as trading, there's been a TON of old threads about it. If you want the short answer:
    no.
And no it has nothing ot do with 'blizzard profits'.  You don't mix a crafting system with a trading system.  If you want details, read those threads on that.
Sidenote, given how absolutely nasty the one game that actally HAD digital trading failed, I doubt anyone would want to touch the idea in any way.

Though I do read and post on other threads dedicated to these ideas, I wanted to make a "list" and combine everything in one post (to make it easier), rather than going through 3 different posts about 3 different things. Now, in no capacity are you wrong and in fact I agree, I was just throwing it out there to see what everyone else thought. On your side note The d3 auction house was so fun Haha you cant deny that!

Never played D3 but I've had a lot of fun with auction houses in MMOs.  But those are MMOs with entirely different mechanics on how you get good items.

Also people like me are WHY you may not want to have such a system here.  I tend to be one of those folks that attempt to manipulate the market for my own gain.  If you ever had a case of an item unnaturally become extremely rare and jump 3-5 times the cost, there's someone like me holding a ton of them that I bought at cost or cheaper and planning on when it's the best time to sell them for 6 times the cost.

posted a message on What if the salt thread...was a bad idea
    Quote from Mackie264 >>

Having a salt thread is a good idea cause sometimes people just need to ventilate all their frustration and it would be pointless for them to create a new thread for this every time, the issue is that the salt thread is such a meme at this point that no one really cares and/or interacts on the thread itself, it's just angry comment after angry comment with no relation in between.

That's sort of the point of the salt thread though. A good number of people who rant don't really want to HAVE a debate.  If you present a counter argument they just get more bothered and start flaming.  Some even say that they just wanted to vent without having 'the entire community jumping on them'.

That's where the salt thread comes in. it leaves people free to rant without the risk of getting hit by a 10 page essay about why they are wrong or why they are being rude by slamming that aggro player.  Meanwhile it leaves me a bit more assured that every thread here IS something I can expect to have a debate on.

Besides, chances are I doubt the 'auto-salt-thead' posters were going to leave you alone if the thread didn't exist.  Instead they would just say you're being salty and for you to 'quit your whining' instead.  Jerks use every excuse they can use to do their thing, but they don't NEED those excuses to be jerks.

I may miss alot though but really, in most threads if a debatable topic is supplied the 'OMG SALT THREAD' posts tend to get pushed aside in favor of said debate.  Usually when I see a thread ONLY go full 'salt thread reply' is when the poster seems more interested in just posting their viewpoint and leaves no room open for the rest of the community like a question to be answered or some debate points to argue about.

posted a message on Duplicate legendary???
    Quote from Mackie264 >>

Yeah the only way this can happen is if you already have all the legendaries from an specific set.

And no, having all the legendaries doesn't mean you necessarily will start getting golden ones, I believe that you do have a slightly better chance of getting golden ones but I'm not at all sure so don't quote me on that one. I'm 100% sure that you're not at all guaranteed to get a golden one ever, that one I'm sure about.

No, the golden legendary counter doesn't give a rat's pig about how many legendaries you already own.  It comes when it comes and that's that.

Whether it's golden or normal, if you roll a legendary it will try to give you one you don't have.  If you already have everything in the set it'll give a random one.  Note that some people do this to 'trick' the system into giving a specific golden legendary:

    1. Own all of the legendaries in the set.

    2. Choose the legendary that you want golden.  Dust it.

    3. Open packs.  The next time you roll a golden legendary, it will be guaranteed to be the missing legendary.

    4. Note that if you roll ANY legendary, it WILL be the missing legendary, so that also means normal versions.  So you'll be dusting a few normal versions before you get your golden.

i'm thinking some people heard of the above and somehow mixed it to 'more likely to get golden legendaries'.

    Quote from iandakar >>

Man this deck is hilarious! Made a version of it to mess about with as i had all the legendaries and most of the other cards. Just finished playing a control warrior - stole his archivist and brewmaster, then hecklebotted his archivist out of his deck before destroying it with his own brawl. Sadly didnt get to use them - he conceded before i got a chance.

I know right?  I made it after I realized a deck that revives wouldn't work well AND is rather already done (I AM  a bit hipster about my decks. If it's already done well I have less of a reason to make it) so I just went "F IT just dump all of the steal stuff in there."

Then I saw it tear house a mech hunter and thought "OMG it worked!?"

(of course in rank 17 but that IS my criteria for a deck that 'works' :P)

sidenote: I seriously need to work on a mech hunter deck. :P
