posted a message on Is 'Piloted Shredder overrated?

It's hard to be upset over bad luck with a ~4% likelihood of getting either Sheep or Doomsayer. Basically once every 25 games you should get something you don't like, and even then both those cards are wonderful when you're behind or Shredder is the only kind of board you have.

If you're ahead on board and a 2-damage AOE ruins your control, your opponent probably has a lot of other ways to do that than hope for Explosive Sheep off your shredder. If you're ahead and Doomsayer wipes board on your opponent's turn, you basically freeze their hand and tempo is still in your favor as you have initiative on an empty board. In any circumstance that you're behind and either of those guys pop up, that is a HUGE tempo recovery because your opponent either plays poorly and trades inefficiently or does nothing and Doomsayer wipes the board.

posted a message on Ghazrilla Hatred?

It's sort of the same story as Prophet Velen for Priest. Great card, same stats as Boom for the same cost, but he doesn't have the instant impact that Boom has, or the ease of triggering like Antonidas. The class itself is better geared for something else.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Ghaz deck is great, but simply having Ghaz in the deck and calling it a Ghaz deck when in reality you have other win conditions that could probably be fulfilled without him won't cut it. I mean, the deck is a great control build with Thalnos and Wild Pyro to get through that early game. Shredder and Highmane for that mid into late game, and then Boom and Rag. If you're opponent leaves a 6/9 on the board, knowing that it will become a 12+ in the next turn, you would've won with *insert big card here* as well.

If my Prophet Velen stays alive on the board for a whole turn, I'm probably in a card/board advantage position over my opponent and already closing it out. It's hard to argue including a slow card that doesn't have instant impact with the hope that it can be "triggered" in a circumstance where Boom staying alive would have had the exact same effect.

He'd find a better home in some sort of Mech Priest because of 0-mana silence so you can coin and make yourself immune (but you'd rather play the Priest-specific 5-drop mech in most instances unless you somehow manage no board until turn 4-5)

posted a message on Killed in 4 turns...

You just have to plan to compete for the board out of the gate and have 3-4 damage really accessible early on. That's where things have evolved. Playing a 3/2 for 2-mana just seems silly now

posted a message on Is OTK decks Good for the game?

OTK on the Miracle Rogue level is toxic for the competitive atmosphere in a way that Face Hunter is; both have a dominant strategy (players like to feel interacted with, as though they are actually competing) that doesn't quite care what the opponent does. All that matters is execution (for Face it's hand-dumping to pump out continual damage that can be responded to, but for Miracle, you had no opportunity to respond  because you ate all the damage in one turn).

Cards like Sap are more to blame for OTK decks than anything because it removes the only thing keeping you from winning (and you have 2). Warrior doesn't have that luxury. So many of their removal cards and answers are also activators so by applying pressure you burn pieces and force them to draw hard (and if you play it right you have a Sludge Belcher waiting for turn 8).

Even for spell-burst Shaman or Combo Druid; so many pieces are important removal as well as burst cards, so by applying pressure or keeping up taunts/playing Loatheb, whatever, you force inefficient plays or burning key pieces.

An OTK like Miracle should never exist, but the rest are really expensive, not that great at stalling/removing obstacles, and have really expensive combo pieces while Rogue had 0-mana Shadowstep and 1-mana Cold Blood and 2-mana Sap (the most expensive pieces was Leeroy).

The current combo decks are convoluted enough to be played around or inconsistent enough to not be OP.

Seriously, just play Loatheb and Sludge Belcher.

Yea sometimes you get unlucky, but sometimes you get a Laughing Sister from Ysera before she's killed too.

why does this sound like a complete nonsense to me?

he meant the value from ysera was really low cause he only got the worst card she generates,

Ysera has smaller variance and a more sturdy stat-distribution, but both operate on the premise of maintaining card advantage while generating hidden power that your opponent simply cannot plan for. I've lost as Priest because someone got Lightbomb and Holy Nova out of him. I've also played him 3x as Mill Rogue through Shadowstep against a Paladin and gotten Redemption ALL 3 TIMES and none of the goodies.

posted a message on ConnorSwift's custom Priest cards

Dang! Some super innovative Priest cards!

*For brevity's sake, you can shows health/attack boosts as +#/+#*

Blessing of Serenity: Very unique and opens up some really powerful avenues for Priest. Giblin Stalker sees some play and I could see this being the turn 3 follow up into Velen's Chosen or using it on Mogu'shan to follow into Divine Spirit + Inner Fire guaranteed.

Dawnbearer: This might put Lightwell to shame so I'd make it a 2/5 for 3 so it doesn't compete with something that already sees little play.

Holy Defender: When it doesn't work it stinks, but even one proc and it's value. I can see this guy coming out on curve with Wild Pyro and CoH or just one good trade and circle. If you don't run Circle though, he's not all that great.

Aura of Life: Cool in concept but weak for it's cost. If you only hit 2 enemies, it's a wretched Holy Nova. I'd suggest making this cost 2-3 (See Arcane Explosion and Fan of Knives).

Acolyte of Chaos: Cooooool. It's got the same stats as Fire Elemental (better distribution) with some flexibility depending on what you play. I want Shadow Priest to be a thing, so this is great.

Prophet of Chaos: See above! Though the stats are a little weak, especially if he gets silenced, you can immediately follow up with Shadowform + Acolyte if you trade him into something (and out of BGH range). Great tool.

Blessed Immolation: Perhaps make this 5-6? Shadow flame for Warlocks is 4-mana and easy to do with giants. Priest has an easier time buffing health than Warlock has buffing attack but 7 feels too heavy.

Divine Connection: Cool concept but it seems a bit clunky to use.

Divine Twilight: Not sure how I feel about incorporating another form, but it's interesting! Due to RNG factor I'd make this cost 3 with Shadowform; it's like a Priest with commitment issues, but I like the flexibility of having both worlds. Auchenai would make this awful though!!

posted a message on Thalnos, how essential is it for freeze mage ?

Cenarius is great in most standard ramp druids, though you don't HAVE to have him for something like Taunt druid since you'll have taunts up the whole game and can throw in a Volcanic LumbererAncient of War, or Sunwalker as an acceptable replacement (or KT if he isn't in it already).

posted a message on ConnorSwift's custom Priest cards

Some pretty cool stuff and unique ideas (thus pretty hard to balance costs, but I'll give it a shot with my opinion).

Skyler Faye: Cool idea though the minion itself should be consistent with the health the hero-form will have since it replaces your hero. It's hard to judge the rest but anything more than 15 health seems a bit much especially since Priest can fatigue/stall pretty easily to make this guy win in the fatigue war (which would be really boring). The cost should probably be 9 as well for the same reasons; it needs to eat up an entire turn.

Staff of Holy Life: Face Priest inbound. Cool weapon though most conventional Priest decks wouldn't make any use of the heal (which I'm guessing is the point). May need to be a 2/3 for balance purposes.

Power Word: Hope: I'd put this at 2 mana. Bestial Wrath is till the end of the turn and has an attack boost with it, and this is vulnerable to spells like Hex and silences.

Chaos Blessing: I'd take off the "being attacked" bit and make it cost 3 mana. Priest excels at generating efficient trades so forcing your opponent to burn hard removal or spells is huge. Perhaps give an attack/health boost or cause double retaliation damage?

Power Word: Restoration: This feels weak. Ancestral Healing costs 0 for essentially the same effect and even gives out a taunt. And Priest already has a ton of heals that could do the job while still being useful in other areas.

Shadow Word: Corruption: Also feels weak. Betrayal is guaranteed to do this to 2 minions for 2 mana (and your opponent could simply not attack or silence this off).

Damnation: I like it, but it's overpriced. Silence is 0-mana for Priest, so I'd make this 1-2 mana.

Some cool ideas to make Priest a bit different, but just some tweaks or reworks to make them more powerful and you're there!

posted a message on Dragon Priest + Stats & Guide

I'm not a fan of the Shrink + Cabal combo (especially at 1x each); it can help you trade more efficiently as a stand-alone minion but the early game is pretty much covered and the minions in this deck already stress efficient trades enough. Perhaps to bait out BGH or to close out matches you could sub in Drakonid Crusher? As a vanilla 6/6 it's a nice body but as a 9/9 it eats hard removal and presses the advantage

posted a message on Am I the only one who is not that hyped about Emperor Thaurissan anymore?

I would agree with that; I see a lot of people still play stuff "on curve" with 1 mana left over (so he actually has no gain). If you play what you would have normally played with him, it makes no difference.
