I understand some players frustration with not hitting legend and not seeing the ladder climbing success they wish for. Also time is huge, but no you don't need to grind 6-8 hours a day to hit legend thats crazy. I hit legend in 3 days(hybrid hunter) my second account and 8-9 days my main account(oil rogue/patron). I did this all while living a normal life where I'm not just playing hearthstone all day. Hearthstone is my hobby and ill play it like any video game. 1-2 hours normally and on weekends maybe 2-3 hours max. Its not that hard when you observe each matchup through spreadsheets. I knew what where the top decks from rank 5-legend as thats the only time it gets very "grind like". I was playing nothing but hand lock, zoo lock, midrange hunter, aggro paladin as the top 4 match ups. So i understood a deck that'll have my win rate above the 65% i shoot for from rank 5-legend was hybrid hunter. That took 3 days to get from rank 15-legend. Maybe 7/8 hours in total? Its easier to hit legend at the end as everyone is using aggro decks or midrange to speed up the grinding process. I don't need to discuss rank whatever to 5 as if you understand the basics of the game and a complete deck of any you should hit this rank.

Main tip is variance is a thing in hearthstone and we all know that luck yes is involved to an extent with drawing and RNG. Games are won and lossed so much on ladder from the mulligan and that doesn't get enough attention. Observe your mulligan vs classes your win rate is lowered. At first i thought my mulligans where always on point but you know what after observing my choices i really wasn't. Now i take my time at the beginning observe my opponent on what they keep in hand. Ex if they are using warrior and i see them hold onto one card from the mulligan i mulligan to play around fiery war ax or death spite weapon.

Take your time. Don't just throw some net decked list and assume you'll hit legend with it. It takes more then that. Hearthstone is simple yes but as more sets come out the game will be really diverse just like every card game.

hit legend in 3 days on my second account. Did it in 3 days using hybrid huntard. You don't just have to use hunter as i hit legend with oil rogue on my main account. In a lot of players eyes rogue is the most precise play deck and i hit legend in about 8-9 days this season. I have experience in variance and plays as I have played in a few WPT(world poker tour events) since i turned 21 and full time online poker player from age 18-20. And within this last year have done really well playing daily fantasy sports. I love numbers and variance makes everything interesting. The key is understanding variance and when plays are just awkward. I love oil rogue as it really can take advantage of poor plays by the opposing player and make them pay for it.

My second account i decided to use hybrid huntard because when i hit legend I then use my other account as a multi tasking to keep me busy. Went from rank 15-5 day one. 5-3 day 2. 3-legend today.

advice for new players who don't think they have time to hit legend this season my advice is use excel/spreadsheets and observe your play. My hunter deck is boring yes but its really the most efficient deck to ladder climb. Read articles about variance in poker and learn. Sometimes the optimal play isn't the best as crazy as that sounds. Make reads on your opponents mulligans. I always let them mulligan first to see how many cards they keep. This raised my win rate from 61%-67% the first season i did this. Now my win rate was 72% with this hybrid hunter deck and 66% with oil rogue. You'll never have a 100% win rate but getting from a 51/55% to a 60/65% is huge

climbing for legend again and doing it with oil rogue and patron. I feel both decks are the best for laddering this season that are non control(slow and too much of a time grind for my liking). Patron because it does unfair things and oil because its really strong counter to the meta.

Once i hit legend i like to use some fun completive decks. Last season i used a malygos miracle dragon druid for fun and worked out well and was fun to use.

happy grinding to everyone this season

reading lots of players on here in the comments who are struggling with the deck. Malygos lock isn't all about the combo. Its a great way to finish games, but isn't always reliant on it. Certain match ups you need to control board as quick as possible especially against aggro. Using the dark bombs and soul fire early game are ok. The difference with this and hand lock are a little different. This variant doesn't drop 4/5 and 8/8 taunts all game, instead it uses minions in the mid game to trade and hit for face once board is set and opponent cant keep up. Don't be afraid to use coin turn 3 for a twilight drake. Just remember this isn't hand lock and i think thats the problem lots of players fail to see when playing malygos lock.

Take your time to learn the deck because its becoming a force on the tournament and ladder scene. I expect the deck to be even more popular after dream hack as lots of players have passed on hand lock variant for malygos now

dragon synergy yes. hand lock counter to deal with giants yes. dragon/demon lock maybe a thing? With these big attack minions BGH should see play in 2's soon from the standard one in 90% of decks

great in control but will need to be in a deck that can obviously have 4-6+dragons in the deck to be viable and i don't know at this time if its worth it. Warrior can use it(like almost all legendaries) but thats about it. average card. Would be good-great without the dragon cost

warrior is what makes this card standout. Pluses on pluses. aggro warrior has the cards to let it sit until you have the combo so i expect to see aggro-mid variants with this. beserker already seeing play from top players. Very interesting card should spark a lot of combo decks for warrior during release
