now if blizzard can buff academic espionage to 2 mana we'd have some fun in wild.

For fun I've decided to do the ReaverRyan challenge from scratch F2P, and I'm going through all the ranks with a free pally deck. I haven't yet graduated to regular ranks where wild is unlocked.

instead I'm stuck on ranks 1 to 10 of apprentice. Queue times are around 4 to 5 minutes. and I'm ONLY facing top tier meta decks that are EXPENSIVE. My "new player" free account is not competitive at all.  

I've literally not faced one F2P or remotely comparable to a new player's deck.  No cards that aren't brand new, competitive and meta (unlike you'd expect them to match with in the "apprentice" ranks (or even sub Diamond 5 for that matter).

I have no clue how this match making works. Not one card that's not from a top HS replay deck that someone would've needed to purchase the bundle to get.

If queue times were quick I'd kinda get it, but I'm waiting 5 minutes per game. what a joke.

I have to say if I weren't doing this for sport but brand new I'd have quit a long time ago.

You're an intelligent one. I never knew that using the court of public opinion in an uneducated assault without facts had this effect.

Because of dopes like you a lot of us lost a lot of needed escape in getting excited for new cards. But of course I'm "Bootlickus Bootlickus" as you like to call me and the others who view Hearthstone as an escape from social justice crap.

As if these people had any morals to begin with from which to sit on their moral perch to judge others.  Blizzard needs to cancel the streamer reveals going forward.  I suspect the vast majority of us want to see the cards and don't really care about a lawsuit.

If these people had any moral consistency they'd quit the game and never promote it again.  Now that would be a statement.  They're so quick to cancel others, so why not do your part to cancel Blizzard?

They won't. Every single one of them will be back in a week because it's the type of characters that they are.  Money > than any moral compass that they have. You'll see.

Wanting to see the cards is not about disrespecting alleged victims of harassment. It's about a whole group of people waiting for a long time and being excited to see cards, but having that be hijacked by streamers who want to "show support" for these allegations.

None of these people will quit the game or actually try to harm Blizzard like they have to others based on unsubstantiated allegations, so it's all just fake any way.

I hope Hearthstone does it different next time and gets rid of this whole streamer reveal.  It sucks that the player base is subjected to their judgments, whether true or not, it's ridiculous to hold the player base hostage for these allegations.

Prove it in court and then the legal system will take care of it.  That's why we have laws so justice isn't served by vigilantes.

cool card but 2 stars. mid range hunter in all likelihood still won't be a thing and throwing up a 4/5 on 5, just so you can trade the subsequent turn is just too slow for any viable hunter deck that i can think of.

great design, cool card, but mid-range hunter unless it receives a ton more support won't be a thing.

I respect your viewpoint, but if it was going on for two years, this group couldn't a single reputable class action lawyer to litigate on their behalf?  There are a bunch of successful ones out there that have gotten money from Google, etc. so it's a bit odd to me that this governmental department which no doubt will take the lion share of gains for itself via a fine is the only one to take it.  Unless you were in the room, you know nothing more about this than me or anyone else.

Wow, ok I got to this topic late and so did a bit of skimming over the first 10 pages of this thread.

Unfortunately, I missed that comment by RolandofGilead that essentially stated the only people who could possibly be unconcerned about this topic are white males.

Skipping the long screed about how statements like that are some of the worst type of racism still permitted in polite society, I'll just say . . . no.  You're wrong.  Your conception of the woke minority as one voice is disgusting, infantilizing, and above all, incorrect.

Of course I want this problem to be resolved. I at the same time and just here to play a children's card game. If they wish to make a stand that's their choice. Its one I would not make if I had the honor of getting my own card reveals. 

The rest of us just need to continue standing up for whats right when we see it. We can do nothing on our keyboards this is between the state and Activision.

And Jagged Edge kindly illustrates exactly why there's a huge amount of skepticism at the new-found purity of streamers and content creators.

He literally said that just READING THE ACCUSATIONS should be enough to change your opinions on penalty of getting banned from this site, fired from your job (not the wrongdoers at Blizzard, but the posters on this forums jobs), and whatever other consequences are appropriate.

That's . . . insanity.  But unfortunately, it's also a common belief.  The accusations are all that is necessary to start taking action.  It's hard to believe people still have such a willingness to believe with no particular reason whatsoever.  And I hope this is obvious, but just in case, if a year from now we've had a trial and a bunch of evidence proving the allegations has come to light, that won't change a word of what I'm saying here.  I'll be very glad that justice was served, but I'll also be perfectly comfortable having said at the beginning, "accusations alone don't move me in the least".

By the way Jagged, your last two sentences about "hyper aggressive male nerds" on ladder and the same who have "destroyed the work place with your man child opinions" . . . you know you have that backwards, right?  The people with the bad opinions were the norm that built said workplace and said game and said . . . well, everything just about.  The change is in the other direction, as folks start to realize some of the flaws in the way we used to do things.  That's the whole #metoo mentality, at least among those who believe in it and aren't just out to make a buck.

There's definitely a long way to go, but the way you wrote that sounds like you think there was once some enlightened norm that is only now being threatened by the evil male nerds and man children.

 Though I think a lot of the people you're responding to are trolling, I feel like it's worth pointing out that we sometimes could do well to remember this is a digital card game forum.  Not only is it most certainly a form of escapism, but a particularly solitary form of it.  And while some folks may do the whole "YOU NEED TO START CARING AND GET AWARE AND GET INVOLVED!!!" act when they find themselves particularly invested in a particular cause, no one spends 24 hrs a day engaged in fighting the good fight.

I take a lot of pride in putting my time and effort where my mouth is when it comes to prison reform, indigent representation, and especially my constant and unending crusade to frustrate all aspects of law enforcement in their efforts to make poverty a felony in my area.  However, I don't particularly want to have to deal with more such shit when I sign on to play a computer game.  That's just me.  I don't fault anyone who wants to go fight the fight on this, but I'm not going to be joining them.

Actually I take that back.  I DO fault all the virtue signalers who are going to pretend they are scandalized at how horrible Blizzard is . . . when the same people were dead silent during the Hong Kong protests, the layoffs, the . . . oh Christ, I'll be here all day if I have to type out all the garbage Activision Blizzard has pulled over the years.  If you spoke up back then or if you were too young and just now are coming into adult awareness of the world, I'll take you seriously.  Otherwise, I don't find the moral outrage very convincing.

Just for the record, yes I know that several of the folks here on this thread were equally vocal during some of the other issues I listed above.  I'm not referring to you folks.

 Both sides will do that . . . unless either side has a lawyer with a brain in his head, at which point all public discussion of what actually happened will immediately cease because that's how you best help your case in court.

What follows is a pure void of speculation where a lot of folks with no clue as to the truth value of any of the accusations try to use skepticism as a cudgel against those who don't immediately believe the "victims" (quotes to draw attention to the fact that we have no clue which side is being victimized at this point).

In any case, I have no problem with the "don't shit where you eat" mentality of streamers.  I just want them to be consistent about it.  If you didn't "shit" as a result of Hong Kong, the layoffs, the myriad of previous sexual discrimination claims, etc., then why are you "shitting" now?  Strained metaphor, I know.

As to the allegations themselves, they run the complete gamut from harmless misunderstanding to black and white felony.  But as usual, the more serious allegations, particularly the ones concerning pay differential based on sex, are very VERY easy to prove in court, so when I see the accusation thrown around with no legal action to follow, I am extremely skeptical.

As for the streamers who "took a stand". . . all of the ones who have made a career bolstering the Blizzard empire have zero credibility in my eyes for moral outrage.  Compared to the punitive actions taken against players making offhand comments supporting Hong Kong and the laundry list of previous business and personal ethics violations at all levels of Blizzard and Activision, if THIS is what constitutes your line in the sand, your moral compass is so screwed up I doubt you can make it out your own front door.

I just got finish watching Trump's non-reveal, and it was the single most empty piece of rhetoric I've ever seen offered up as a statement of support for alleged victims.  In the same breath, I heard how these accusations (mind you, not all the ones in the years before now, not all the horrid shit about China/HK, but THESE accusations in particular) were so graphic, he could not subject his audience to them, but that "the show must go on" and he's sure that one day . . .

I was literally shaking.  So stunning and brave.  What a vapid empty lack of . . . well, anything.

If the victims in name are victims in deed, I hope they get some form of compensation for their injuries.  In the meantime, I'm not going to pretend to give internet streamers who owe their entire livelihood and notoriety to a corporate entity any credit for TODAY finally realizing they are a cog in the machine and then throwing a paper wrench in said machine, not to actually accomplish anything, but to show how aware and courageous they truly are.

I agree that blizzard should just do the reveals themselves from here on out. This is terrible what allegedly happened but this isn't the community's problem. If the big streamers and influences want to pretend they are making a difference by not revealing a digital card then go ahead, but some of us just want to escape from this crap so next time, just reveal them yourself. The big names have too much power, at least give the little guys more reveals. They have more incentive to actually follow through. And no, wanting new cards doesn't make you a terrible human being.

I think it's time for Blizzard to just reveal the cards themselves. This is getting silly.

truth doesn't matter to these people. neither does moral clarity. they'll be promoting this game before the next expansion arrives. money and image are the only thing that matter to these people.

they just want us all to lose some of the excitement we'd otherwise have had so they can feel morally superior to you, me and everyone else.  it's a PR stunt and unfortunately impacts people who are passionate about this game.

maybe it's blizzard's fault for giving these "influencers" so much power over their brand. i hope they reconsider things after this.

none of these moral authorities have shame or logical consistency. i hope people reading this in a week stop by their streams so they can see what i'm talking about when they're back promoting blizzard products.
