So if you don't have coin there is not an OTK condition, right? So if you go first it is just a general control style win condition unless you get a horseman to stick on board for a turn?
Ya'll complainers should try the deck out for yourselves and see just how infrequently you get the dream of mega ramp + draw only Oakheart.
THIS! If you would play the deck you would see how inconsistent the Oakheart combo is. When it goes off perfectly, it will likely win you the game, but literally EVERY tier 1 and 2 deck that draws perfectly will likely win their game. If they didn't have win conditions that good they wouldn't be tier 1-2.
In casual, it is good to have comparable decks to what you can run in the pool of opponents you can play. If, like me, you have basically every card they have printed, I should see people in casual that have access to that card pool. New players should never see someone like me in casual.
Maybe a solution is, IN CASUAL, restrict your potential opponents to those where their dust value is within some region of yours. You could adjust for golden cards and duplicates beyond 2 copies easy enough to keep the banding pretty true. It might make matchmaking take a bit longer as your pool of potential opponents would be significantly smaller, but the quality of games should be much better.
In ranked, there should be no matchmaking. If you queue into a match at a rank you should match up against any opponent at that rank.
Even if the cosmetics aren't difficult to earn, there is still significance in having them. They are like your souvenir from that piece of the game. Most souvenir's aren't hard to get, but still mean something that you have them when others can't unless they were there, too.
It looks like something is broken with quests. I wanted to see if Hunter quest was viable in this so I put The Marsh Queen in. In my first game I got all quests, kept 1 and took two mulligans. Both mulligans were the quest again. In the second game I drew and discarded 4 copies, and again drew 4 The Marsh Queens. I started testing and through 10 consecutive games I drew only the quest both as my initial draw and after mulligans. I tested for a few other classes and the result was the same. Only the quest in hand after both initial draws and mulligans.
I expected to draw only the quest for my first draw due to the way the quest always starts in your hand, but I expected to be able to draw my 1 drop minion through the mulligan. By the way, you're welcome to all the people I played and auto-conceded to in testing this out.
TL;DR: If you put a quest in your deck you only draw it both in initial draws and mulligans. You will not draw the other card in your deck until turn 1 at earliest.
This thread is damaging my HS ranking. I now seriously consider conceding any game that Dire Mole is played on turn one. I mean, at the end of the day, is it more important to meme or win in this game?
How far into the late game did you get in the second two match ups? Was your opponent playing single minions consistently on the mana curve or were there turns where they played a couple small minions instead of one big one? It could be that they drafted poorly with only a few small cost minions and in the first one or two games were overrun before they could build a board, and just happened to curve out when they played you.

Another meme-only legendary as the "main character" from the set. Mayor Noggenfogger has some company.
