I wish I could upvote your deck again! I've been a fan of your decks for awhile and decided to try your deck again with the Armor Vendor change. I play the exact same deck as you have in this guide and here are the results:

    Versus:
    Murloc Shaman - W
    Reno Mage  - W
    Secret Mage  - L
    Reno Hunter - L
    Secret Hunter - W
    Galakrond Warrior - W
    Reno Priest - W
    Burgle Rogue - W
    Spell Druid - W
    Odd Warrior - W
    Silas OTK Warrior - L
    Libram Paladin - W
    Burgle Rogue - L
    Totem Shaman - L
    Reno Shaman - W
    Amara Deathrattle Priest - W
    Reno Hunter - W
    Secret Hunter - W
    Big Rez Priest - W
    Odd Rogue - L
    Totem Shaman - L
    Totem Shaman - W
    Reno Rogue - W
    Pirate Warrior - W
    Dead Man's Hand Warrior - L
    Big Rez Priest - W
    Totem Shaman - W
    Mill Rogue - L
    Secret Mage - L

So, that's 19-9 W/L. Very nice! I still have trouble with Secret Mage, but I could've won the first Secret Mage game but I accidently used the wrong card on my turn (on mobile - fumble fingers, going to fast, etc.). I have to say, Armor Vendor is da MVP of this deck. Instantly better than Glacial Shards for me. I look forward to future updates to your guide if you have changes. Thanks again for the deck!

Alright, so I've been playing around with Mill Rogue a lot after we theorycrafted in earlier comments. So far, I think I've come up with a BETTER deck than the one we've been running and surprisingly it doesn't include Glacial Shard (!!! - though it could and it might, should). This new deck performs very good versus most aggro, almost all midrange, and everything control. It even works well against super aggro like Odd Paladin, which it has won me several games! The only decks that completely dumpster this deck are Aggro Druid, Secret Mage, and N'Zoth Mill Rogue (unless, of course you can Flik Skyshiv his shuffles).

    Here goes:

    Preparation x 2

    Shadowstep x 2

    Blackjack Stunner x 2

    Secret Passage x 1

    Sphere of Sapience x 1

    Togwaggle's Scheme x 1

    Wand Thief x 2

    Evasion x 2

    Lab Recruiter x 1

    Shadowjeweler Hanar x 1

    Sudden Betrayal x 2

    Swindle x 2

    Brann Bronzebeard x 1

    Cloak of Shadows x 2

    Coldlight Oracle x 2

    Potion of Illusion x 1

    Zilliax x 1

    Flik Skyshiv x 1

    Vanish x 2

    Valeera the Hollow x 1

Some observations and addressing any preemptive questions, though ask away:

Potion of Illusion (a little bit costly, but it's really nice when an aggressive deck ignores your minions and you can get a 1 mana Brann, Zilliax, etc. back with it, even if you can't use it on the Oracle, though plenty of times I've used it on Oracle and found Wand Thief and Blackjack Stunners to be great too).

You might be like, "WTF, where is Sap?!? That's where Blackjack Stunner comes in and I can tell you that this card is LOADS better than Sap cause you can go infinite with them after using DK Valeera, can copy them with potions, and with Sudden Betrayal x2, you can stop the opponent from triggering easily, it's hardly a big setback. So many games, I've been able to dump two Stunners in the same turn, Vanish, or Potion, and this has won me the game in the long run. Don't forget you can always Stunner your OWN minions if you need to save something as a last resort. Last, you can DUMP HARD on priests or anyone that plays a 10 mana minion. It's dead in their hand for the rest of the game, unless they saved the coin, which has to be super rare and I haven't had anyone save the coin that long yet.

Wand Thief is the new Glacial Shard. These little dudettes are FRIGGIN amazing in Mill Rogue, I'm finding out. So many games, I've been able to pull out answers like Ice Block, Blizzard, Polymorph, Devolving Missiles and Flame Ward, etc. There's just an amazing amount of Mage freezing spells, secrets, disruption, and board clears that I pretty much get a great card every game from Wand Thief.

Sphere of Sapience is a craft that I don’t regret, not one bit. Mill decks live or die by the draw and there’s nothing worse than drawing DK Valeera or Vanish in an early turn, or drawing a Preparation or Swindle in the late game when you needed something big. So far, Sphere of Sapience should be considered core in Mill decks. It just is, trust me.

Shadowjeweler Hanar is the card that I never thought I’d want to run in a Mill deck where juggling hand size can be an issue, but this dude is straight up so annoying that he’s basically a taunt minion, and there’s been SEVERAL games where’s he’s given me GREAT secrets like Ice Block, Flame Ward, Evasion, etc. The goal with this deck is to slow down the pace enough to fill your deck up with Oracles and then mill them and SJ Hanar allows for more room to save your Evasions and Cloaks and slow the opponent down enough for you to gather your answers. Another advantage of SJ Hanar is that he makes Evasion so unpredictable now. Before, I always felt that the opponent just knew what that second Evasion was, but now, they have no friggin clue since I've played 5 other secrets before it. Personally, I think he’s core now too.

Some flex cards: I think Zilliax could easily be switched for Healbot if you’re into that, but I like the proactiveness of Zilliax. I’m still not sold on Secret Passage 100%, maybe it could be swapped for Elven Minstrel or some other draw.

Here’s what I think you should do, if you’re willing. Hit a rank floor and play this deck for awhile where you don’t have to worry about losing stars. After about 10 games or so, you’ll probably, like me, realize just how much better this iteration is. Let me know your thoughts!

    1. Yeah, I really hate when Tastyfin is in the final third of the deck, at that point I don't want to draw the Coldlights, so Minstrel definitely wins there. I might throw Minstrel back in and test for awhile.

    2. Yeah, it's mostly just another failsafe for finding Coldlights in the early game, or finding a Shadowstep if I'm really desperate and need to play something earlier than I wanted.

    3. Shards, nuff said.

    4. I mean, winning an extra couple few games out of 100 can be the difference between a winning and losing deck percentage. Say, 49% versus 51%. There's no telling how many games Doomsayer helped me win, though. I can only recall a couple where he was clearly the reason I was able to stay alive and win, but no telling how many games he delayed me another turn and then I went on to win 10 turns later never realizing that Doomsayer was the reason that I was still alive. Definitely a flex spot though. I feel like Zilliax is good, but still pretty clunky. I wonder if 1 Healbot and 1 Ritualist would be better?

"I have considered switching minstrel with tasty fin, just haven't gotten to testing it yet if the immediate draw was necessary or if silence was a big thing, but it doesn't seem to be, so it seems like a good switch.  Sometimes though, I don't actually want minstrel to draw coldlight (like in aggro matches or mill mirror), so it may not actually be a good switch, will just have to test it."

Silence hasn't been an issue at all. I think I've run into one priest that was running Mass Dispel, but I ended up milling both of his Mass Dispels and they were at the bottom of his deck anyway. I kind of wish I hadn't milled his Mass Dispels because he would've probably used them to draw more, lol. I can see certain situations where Minstrel could work better, but I love the guaranteed Coldlight draws from Tastyfin because this deck lives or dies with drawing them early-ish. I also really like the Tastyfin+Backstab combo to guarantee the draws.

"I agree that having 2 lab recruiters is pretty good, I just include the scheme to get shuffles going a little faster if I get bad draw vs. a combo/tickatus deck, and to prevent situations where I can't go infinite because the opponent also runs mill cards and they mill my valeera the hollow, so I need to scheme the recruiter.  However, I see how secret passage could be better in situations where you are desperate to survive or need some additional value as valeera (though I haven't really ever needed an additional shadow)."

Yeah, I think this is a flex spot for sure, and I can totally see how Scheme plays better versus mill decks. If I start seeing a lot of Mill, I would swap Scheme back in. I have really liked Secret Passage so far. One game I was even able to Secret Passage into double Swindle to refill my hand.

"I can see how glacial shards would be quite powerful.  I mainly included the prize vendors for draw consistency and being able to end the game a bit faster by going through the opponent's deck faster, but probably not super necessary, especially if you run tastyfin.  Will definitely try it."

Imo, they are the best card of my suggestions. These little dudes are like the unsung heroes of my deck. Nasty dudes that have saved my ass multiple times.

"I'm not really convinced that doomsayer is necessary.  I feel I have enough stall against decks which seek to create board pressure.  However, secret mage, hunter, and demon hunter matchups, for example, can be really rough without antique healbot, so I'm not convinced I can cut one of them.  Yes, it's much worse if you draw both in situations where you don't need them, but I feel if you don't need the healbots, you're usually winning, or too far behind for doomsayer to work anyway, and if you only have 1 in your deck, you're not as likely to find it when you do need it.  All of this is being said without having glacial shards in my deck though, so it's possible that with the inclusion of glacial shards, the healing becomes less necessary."

Yeah, I'm with you on Doomsayer not really being necessary. I dunno, though. They have won me a couple games out of a 100 or so where I was able to make one stick. Not really sure if they are worth it and truthfully I would rather have another Healbot for the battlecry, but that extra Healbot just always was in my hand. I also run the double Evasion, like you, so the second Healbot just never seemed necessary. Maybe there is another card other than Doomsayer that would work better, so we should keep optimizing to figure out what's working and not. I've thought about swapping the Doomsayer for a Sudden Betrayal to play my secrets out of order and throw the opponent off. First, they see an Evasion (or Sudden Betrayal), then they think the next time, they attack with the wrong minion to try and trigger the same secret, but it would be the opposite. As you say, this deck is kind of meta dependent, so optimizing might not happen.

I've been running basically the same deck since DMFaire released with great success. Though, my list is a little different. Here were my changes:

I cut the Elven Minstrel for Murloc Tastyfin.

I cut Toggwaggle Scheme for Secret Passage. I found the 2 Lab Recruiters to be enough to add Coldlights. I tried 1 Toggwaggle and 1 Lab Recruiter for awhile, but Labs have a number of advantages over the Scheme, such as working with Brann, going infinite, Labs are safe from Skulking Geist, and it doesn't matter where you draw the Labs in the deck, unlike Scheme which can brick if it's way down in the deck. Secret Passage has helped a lot to pull out answers when I need to stall and they have the added benefit of creating an extra "shadow" card with Valeera.

I cut the 2 Prize Vendors for 2 Glacial Shards. Those little devils have been amazing. Only being 1 mana and freezing a minion or the hero weapon has helped so much to lock down their game plan and not wasting my really good delay cards like Cloak and Vanish. Plus, I feel like there is already enough draw and Mill opportunity that Prize Vendors are just redundant.

I cut 1 Antique Healbot for 1 Doomsayer. The extra Bot often just sat in my hand whereas the Doomsayer is a lot cheaper, so crazy plays like Vanish+Doomsayer+shadow Doomsayer are possible.

Have fun milling! I'm convinced that Mill Rogue can be a high tier deck with enough experience and with the new deck additions. Let me know your thoughts!

I've been running this deck with a lot of success, subbing out Jandice for Silas. I don't have Jandice, so Silas makes it so that I can throw down a lackey, then Silas, and take control of the board - similar to Jandice.
