This is like a different but better Astral Communion for warlock. It doesn't say replace the cards in your deck, but I guess we all assumed it do.

posted a message on Basic/Classic Nerf Predictions

So I feel like playing this prediction game while waiting for the new standard. Two things we know are there will be max of 20-card nerf and no cards will be buffed. Put down your predictions too if you like and come back later to check if you are correct.

    Basic set:

    • Innervate -> 2 mana - Gain 4 mana this turn only.
    • Savage Roar -> You and your beasts gain +2 Attack this turn.
    • Hunter's Mark -> 1 mana
    • Charge -> 4 mana (I feel like this would be broken suddenly and limiting design space.)

    Classic set:

Wanted to fit in Secret Keeper but I hit my 20 cards limit. Will check back after the changes are announced. Can't wait for the new cards too!

Illidan Stormrage for reference. I believe you can't go below zero mana so if you Innervate and chose this option, the next turn you should go from 0 to 1 mana.

Flavor text: She chose the second option. Every single time.

(I made this one a legendary spell because YOU CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE TIME in this type of situation. So choose wisely!

Finally settled my vote on 6 cards that I think are interesting, innovative, somehow balanced and fun! Yours are not the most balanced but I voted for it as well since it is very interesting and innovative!

This card is designed to synergize with the new "If your hand is empty..." archetype thrown to hunter, as well as Eaglehorn Bow and all trap secrets. The discard mechanic is borrowed from Warlock.

posted a message on The League of Explorers: Arena Impact

After they changed the pack reward to be random, I didn't play arena as much as I used to be. I average about 5 wins in arena, so I consider myself an average arena player. So, as always, I'll be listing disagreements here. :D

I think after this adventure the arena will almost always end slightly faster than before so Arch-Thief Rafaam might not be as good as you think. While 9-mana is crippling, the 7/8 will often trade 2 for 1. It will still most likely be the "win condition" if you can stall enough or out-value your opponent in a topdeck war. Still there should be other better legendaries to choose so I might give this a 3 instead.

Sir Finley Mrrgglton might not be as bad if you happened to have to choose from 3 bad arena classes. 1/3 can often survive turn 1 to be buffed by Abusive Sergeant, Lance Carrier, Flametongue Totem, Dire Wolf Alpha, or even Coin + Shattered Sun Cleric. In niche cases you can use it on turn 5 to clear an annoying 2-health minion, or search for that Hunter Hero Power to push for lethal. Still, in the leagues of legendaries, I would still rate it a 4.

Djinn of Zephyrs screams super slow to me, and you are right about it fitting into only certain classes. Spectral Knight and Pit Fighter are always better than this, but you will almost always have to choose from a pool of bad epic cards, so I will give it a 3.

Explorer's Hat is also another slow value card, and in Hunter you don't really want slow cards most of the time. If you use it often you will end up having less minions on the board, or if you use it less often you are not getting the value out of it. So I would give it a 4.

I have a mixed feelings about Wobbling Runts. I would give it a 2, because it is hard for your opponent to deal with, unless they have lethal.

I think Curse of Rafaam gives another card called "Cursed!" and it is not a back and forth card... so it is a terrible 5.

As a Hunter you will almost guaranteed to have a 1-drop in your deck, so Desert Camel would be a 2 for me.

Huge Toad is almost as good as Flame Juggler, and it can *sometimes* trade with a 3/4, so I might give it a 2.

I am a little biased towards 1-mana 1/3 minion, because they can often survive till turn 3, so I will give Tunnel Trogg a 3 instead.

Why do people not realize this is very OP? It says "play". so imagine if you used Unleash, it won't trigger. Similarly, it WILL kill Dr. Boom if you have 1+ minions on the board already.

I am so disappointed. I am the top in my page. My entry isn't trolling. The art looks troll-ish just because I can't find a similar art piece anywhere so I had to drew it myself.

That seems rather unbelievable. I mean, it didn't take me long at all to find this piece here for example:

It wasn't just the art, though. The effect itself was also incredibly trollish. Maybe if it had been only when rope appeared on your opponent's turn that might have been something, but as it stood it was clearly just an excuse to rope your enemy down every turn to get an overpowered minion. The Ropecoach reference just made it seem even more like the entry was intended as a joke. Now, we wouldn't necessarily disqualify an entry or consider it trollish for any of these things individually, but they definitely all come together to suggest a troll entry.

    Quote from gaeshin >>

I also checked my entry EVERYDAY TO MAKE SURE NO MOD IS TAGGING MY ENTRY TROLLING EVEN DURING UP-VOTING PERIOD so I could explain.

Are you certain? If true, then I'm not sure why it wasn't tagged earlier, and for that I will apologize, though I thought I had tagged it myself. What I'm getting from this though is that you had a pretty good idea that it would come across as a troll entry, and yet you did not make any attempt in your submission post itself to dispel that idea. Our ruling is going to have to stand.

I used your picture to google search and found out it was "Hangman Golem" from DnD. If you are like me and searching through 'rope' 'giant' and 'rope giant' you certainly wouldn't find it.

If you think deeper you can only drop the Rope Giant on turn 4 if both of you and your opponent ropes. That is why the mana cost is 12. If only you rope you can only drop in turn 6, and do nothing else that turn to address your opponent's board. While it is kinda power-creep, it comes in turn 6, which is pretty late for constructed, and comes with a 'condition' like Drakonid Crusher, which condition is rather easy to achieve in a specific type of deck as well. Ropecoach reference is what inspired me to make this card.

Coincidentally, Kripp also made a similar video on cards that are just for fun a few days ago, and to a certain extend, trolling like you all presumed. I really think Hearthstone could use some more fun cards like Nozdormu and Alarm-o-Bot, and I found most submissions nowadays are trapped inside a certain creativity box. Most cards are just referencing other cards or producing random effects based on current board state. My card would be like Nozdormu, which is related to the time, and while you are roping, you are also wasting your time for a card that will just get BGH-ed on turn 6.

I may have checked my submission very early in the up-voting phase, and I believe the site-owner should have the log of me checking my submission or something like that, that can be compared to the log of you tagging my submission. If I am wrong, I apologize. At this point, I don't really mind it anymore.

Lastly, I really appreciate your response and I'm very glad to see that the Optimistic Giant from my page got into the finals as well, because it is another card creation that is outside-the-box, aside from the fact that 12 health is quite OP.  Have a good day!

posted a message on Why shaman doesn't work.

As a shaman lover, there are a few really obvious reasons why it failed so hard even with TGT power cards. I would say the Overload is actually a small part of the problem.

    1) Blizzard underestimated the deathrattle-summoning minions, especially Piloted Shredder. There is literally no card that punishes you for playing deathrattle minions. Silencing deathrattle minions often costs you tempo, and Lil' Exorcist never works. If deathrattle-summoning minions are easier to clear especially with other minions, shaman wouldn't have such a huge problem.

    2) Shaman is the only class with ONLY ONE UNRELIABLE BOARD CLEARING SPELL. Elemental Destruction is a joke, it is as viable as Twisting Nether, if not Lightbomb, since it costs you tempo and your board. It is not comparable to Flamestrike at all. Every other class has at least 2 viable board clearing spells, but why not shaman?

    3) Lava Shock doesn't work. Honestly, it should have cost 0 and does no damage other than the mana-lock clearing effect. It should have been a tempo card, but costing 2 mana makes it doing the opposite instead.

    4) I've told people Healing Wave is way worse than Vitality Totem and Antique Healbot when it was announced. Why? Because shaman need ANY-BODY on the board in order to NOT LOSE immediately, and Healing Wave doesn't provide either a body on the board or a substantial amount of reliable heal.

    5) While Thunder Bluff Valiant is really strong, Mukla's Champion is actually a better substitute in almost all cases. If you played enough games, you will know that Mukla's Champion can sometimes turn the game into your favor, but not Thunder Bluff Valiant. Your totems almost always doesn't trade + survive, and +1/+1 makes you way better against Consecration and Holy Nova than +2/+0.
