The solution would have been to play Kobold Illusionist followed by The Coin, followed by The Coin from Shadow Reflection. Then use Necrium Vial and Necrium Blade in any way you like.

posted a message on Can i ask which of the card sets are rotating out so i don't use my dust up on cards that will rotate out of standard thanks!

There are always the sets of the current and the last year in standard. so when the rotation occurs in april 2018 only 2017 and 2018 sets will stay, while 2016 sets will leave. namely those are: Whispers of the Old Gods, One Night in Karazhan and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.

posted a message on Friend Just started. Top 5 Legendaries and to 10 all around cards to craft?

To add something new: At the moment Tempo Decks are pretty strong while still being decent in cost. Also they tend to use a fair ammount of strong neutral cards, which can be utilised in a great ammount of decks. At the current state this would be my top crafts:

    Bonemare

    Cobalt Scalebane

    Corridor Creeper

posted a message on I did it! I made both Mill and Hadronox work in one deck

If you are already running 2 Jade Blossoms, 2 Jade Behemoths and 1 Jade Idol you should make room for Aya. I would remove 1 Stegodon (you would still have 2 Beasts left for the Curator). And you really should consider playing Ultimate Infestations. Those cards are just to great to pass up on.

posted a message on Very little Frozen Throne cards are played

Your counting is off: Lich King, Devour Mind, Spirit Lash and DK Anduin are 4 KFT cards already....

You are making a pretty narrow-minded comparison here. Firstly during GvG Era there were fewer cards in the pool, automatically increasing the ammount of cards from individual expansions. Secondly you are comparing an archetype solemly based around Mechs, a mechanic new to GvG, to an Highlander Archetype that has been in the game since LoE. If you look at Tempo Rogue, Jade Druid, Zoo warlock etc. there are usually 5-10 KFT cards in there (UI x2, Plague x2, Malfurion x1 | Prince 2 x1, Scalebane x2, Bonemare x2 | Archeus Veteran x2, Prince 2 x1, Saronite Chain gang x2, Despicable Dreadlord x2, Bonemare x2, DK x1). Compare this to your average GvG deck which had 8-13 cards from GvG while acknowledging the fact that there are 6 Sets (Classic, WotoG, Karazhan, MSoG, Un'goro, KFT) in the Standard Meta right now, compared to 3 Sets (Classic, Naxx, GvG) during GvG Era and you'll see that KFT cards are not underrepresented.

I would even go as far as putting KFT as one of the best expansions based on the viability of cards (nearly every DK is playable (except Warrior maybe), 2 neutral legendaries regularly put into decks (lich king, prince 2) with prince 3 and prince 4 making a few appearences as well). Then there are Scalebane and Bonemare which are pretty much Kings of Arena and viable in any Tempo/Midrange or even Aggro based deck. UI and Spreading Plague got Druid to God Tier before the nerfs, Skulking Geist gave a new answer to unlimited Jade win-conditions. Warlock DK and Dreadlords made Warlock great again, Bearshark became a mascot of a hunter revival etc. etc.

posted a message on How to get extra free* rewards from Hallow's End event?

You are still somewhat missin a point. Letting the run retire at 0-0 is just inefficent. You'd rather want to play it until you got 2 losses. If in worst case you are 0-2 when the run gets retired your aren't losing anything (aside from the time spent for playing 2 games of course) but if you can get to 6-2 your rewards will be much better. And as long as you stop playing after losing 2 matches this method is absolutely risk free.

You can see it in the screenshots. You played Fire Elemental into Frozen Clone which gave him two of those. If I remember correctly Frozen Clone is bugged as it only stated 'created by' for the first copy.

    Quote from Jasmeralia >>

Thank you! Just used it and stomped someone on standard mode. Still having trouble with Maexxna but I suspect I need to use a different build against her.

As for focusing on pve, I want to do that to get more used to the game and then dig into PvP side of things. I'm not intending on never playing pvp, I'm just more interested in the missions at the moment, especially as they will give more decks to work with.

To be honest: you are not going to learn much about the game by playing PvE because you are going to play bad AIs with even worse decks or somewhat decent AIs with crazy overpowered cards that don't have anything to do with the actual game. In neither case you will learn anything that helps you against a real person.
In addition: Playing "good" decks vs the AI often isn't the best way. In most cases the easiest way to beat them is to take a look at what they are going to do (Hero Power e.g.) and run something that specifically counters their strategy.

posted a message on If I craft some copies of spreading the plague am I going to get some dust?

There are two mistakes in your calculation:

Firstly you are not able to craft more than 2 of a card (1 for legendaries). You can obtain extra cards from packs but not craft them.

Secondly nerfed cards can be disenchanted for full dust value, which means you can craft 2 for 200 dust and then get 200 dust back from disenchanting. You don't get additional dust refund.

The automatic dust refund for cards rotating to Hall of Fame is a special because it refunds cards that weren't nerfed but just rotated to wild. Why is this special? Other than expansion cards which are known to ratoate (at least since they first announced standard and wild format in 2016) classic cards are crafted with the mindset of them being available in standard for eternity. Therefor a refund feels right. However these cards being disenchanted for full dust would make people dust some of the best wild cards leaving it even less important and played than before. The resulting automatic dust refund is nothing more than an attempt by Blizzard to keep the last bit of Wild's viability.

posted a message on Now i remember why i hate this game... (not salt)

I've been experiencing the same for quite a while, flying through the ranks at enormous winrates just to go on a bad losingstreak. A few months back (not 100% sure when it was, shortly before Un'goro I guess) I kept swinging beetween ranks 3 to 1, rushing my way to legend just to somehow stop and crash down again. At first I also felt betrayed by the game for giving me bad matchups, bad draw etc. I realised that logging out after one or two losses and logging in again seemed to fix the problem and figured it might be a way to reward players that just logged in to make them play more after some successful games.

In the end thats all BULLSHIT!

After messing around with some stuff like deleting decks and rebulding them, logging out every 3 matches or after a loss just to instantly relog the only thing that all of these things had in common was the following: the longer the pause till starting the new match was the better it went in terms of average winrates and personal feeling. So I looked into my replays to find some different explanation and came to the conclusion that I just made misplays because I was tilting.

By misplays I am not necessarily talking about those obvious misplays such as missing lethal or killing off one of my minions instead of taking a value trade but things such as taking to many or to few risks, not playing around opponents cards when i have the advantage or playing around everything when I just could not afford to.

Once I realised the problem and started taking action such as pausing for some time before heading into the next match or playing slower and more carefully when I'm about to tilt to avoid those mistakes, my losing streaks have become way less frequent and also shorter.

Today I had an interesting situation: I was running my Murloc Paladin against a Jade Druid and while I was putting on the pressure he still was able to get a good amount of ramp in just to have pretty much the best answers possible. I just wanted to finish him off as fast as possible fearing that he would somehow survive and outvalue me in the lategame. He had Kun the forgotten King on board and a lifetotal of 21 (10 Armor from Kun). I could have set him to either 8 when going face with everything or 15 while summoing 2 murloc by trading my buffed finja into his Kun. I was on the edge of tilting, throwing everything into his face just to get it over with faster but if I had done this Spreading Plague in combination with a Spellbreaker or a Swipe could have been backbreaking. After taking a deep breath i realised that trading away all my 3 1/1s and the 7/9 Finja into the Kun would leave me with a somewhat wide and extremely powerful board to still set up the two turn lethal while not being fragile to any combination of cards. While I would have won the game either ways in about 90% of the matches it's these small things that matter long term and divide good and bad players. If by making suboptimal plays I would have lost this game I would tilt even more playing worse for the next game leading into a downwards spiral.

TL;DR: There is nothing in the game rigging your luck, it's only in your head. If you want to break the circle you'll have to reflect on your mistakes and use the knowledge gained to improve your game.

posted a message on can we please get a 3rd deck slots page already?

There are 9 Classes and 2 Modes (Standard & Wild) in the game. So if you are not just gonna grind the same 2 tier 1 decks for every mode, but try to experiment with every class in both modes 18 slots fill pretty fast. That's not even taking into account that for most classes there are several different archetypes (Murloc, Token, N'Zoth, Secret Paladin just to name a few). Filling 18, 27 or even 50 deck slot should not be a problem. However I don't see it that much of a priority as with the import feature there are ways to work around that.

As wacky1215 said deleting decks for tournaments is way more annoying. Having a tournament mode in HS would be way more interesting.

posted a message on HELP ME WITH MY HIGHLANDER PRIEST PLEASE

The deck doesn't look that bad, so i guess it's down to individual skill. However i would think about cutting Awaken the Makers and some of the weaker Deathrattle Minions such as Dark Cultist. As good as the Quest sounds on paper, it's usually to slow against aggro and having the quest in the hand just means you are effectively drawing one less card. On the other hand against control Reno should be enough, making the Quest bad again.

posted a message on What's the most cost-effective way to get viable in Hearthstone in a reasonable length of time
    Quote from Snivius >>

Thanks for the replies, everyone.  As I anticipated, opinions have varied.

The gist I'm getting is that for someone like me who can only play for 1-2 hours per week, there's almost no point to going in half-cocked.  Either sink in the bucks for expansion pre-orders (at minimum), or just roll with the $5.00 and suck up the excess losses, which won't be so bad as I earn good cards from packs over time.

    Sniv

Yeah, with only 1-2 hours a week you will constantly fall behind on card quality or be forced to spend ~100$ per expansion (read every 4 month) which just doesn't seem worth it for something you only do 1-2 hours a week.
