Congrats, your wish came true, it took only ONE FUCKING MONTH.

Right? Well, I, for one, welcome our new Pirate Quest Warrior / Quest Hunter overlords. The meta that will reign a thousand years.

With QLock banished, there should be more control to prey on these aggro decks - they were mainly prevalent due to QLock. Pirate Q has a fair amount of inevitability and reach, though highly variable and should still be disfavoured against control, but the odd quest hunters can be handled pretty handily, in my experience.

Well, I'm surprised - and glad - but Seed is gone tomorrow. I didn't think they had the guts to do that to one of their flagship cards for the expansion, but I'm glad they did. Let the (ban)hammer fall!

Makes for a nice end to a night after an evening of selfish people at an AGM.

Well the only hope for this whole mess is for Demon Seed to be the warlock card getting banned in wild. Otherwise expect the deck to be the only one you run into in either format for the foreseeable future.

Crystallizer could be a decent hit, too. Might be just enough to slow it down, though I doubt it.

As a nerf, yes. But blizz was pretty specific that the banned card would be a WARLOCK class card. Not a warlock DECK card. Bit of a difference. So demon seed seems the most logical choice,

Crystallizer would need a very significant nerf before it stopped seeing play in painlock builds since warlock's one of the classes that laughs at "mana cost". You'd basically have to both reduce the amount of recoil damage he deals and nerf his mana cost by at least 2, Otherwise blizz's usual answers of "nerfs" won't mean didly-squat for the deck.

Good point, it's all class cards getting hit, isn't it? I'm still skeptical of any changes to the Quest actually happening, but we'll see in a day or so :) Although it does just say 1 ban (warlock), which could mean it's aimed at locks as opposed to just class cards.

     You can't ban Wild-Only cards.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see Blizz just banhammer it out of existence for a while, honestly, until they can redesign it a bit. After all, there were no bans at all until very recently. Not too likely, though. Also forgot that's not a lock class card :P

You must be 6 months back in time. All you see is the same Beast or Demons crap from every. single. player. There's more Demon/Beast comps than Quest Warlocks ROFL ROFL

This meta is absolutely trash and it has been deteriorating consistently the last 6 months. Soon it will be unplayable and time to find a different game.

There is a patch coming tomorrow that will remove leapfrog problem and infinite demons resources from turn 4 problem. It will be much more playable . Standard is just dead until quests rotate

Demons will still scale faster than most stuff, I think. Tomorrow's patch, assuming those leaked changes are true, will help a lot, though, with the meta.

Kill parrot over Baron, IMO. Baron's iconic, and easier sniped. Parrot is... just a parrot, with sketchy synergy with most of its own tribe (Most deathrattles spawn replacement minions, which you lack space for with a parrot a lot of the time).

Still think Macaw should be removed, honestly, and replaced with something else for beasts. Not convinced it's good for the mode, and effectively depreciates later deathrattling beasts due to lowering chance of hitting the right deathrattle plus full boards. This parrot nerf is a good start, though. Still think demons are too strong relative to other tribes after those leaked changes, if they're true.

Agreed.  On a few occasions now the rope has started as soon as my match ended.

That's less the short timer, more the idiotic blizz design to have animations eat your turn.

Vol'jin is just useful, I find. Swapping stats to a DS early, then back to something useful when you want to sell the DS, lettting you get good stats on a doomsayer or nomi, switching the doubling attack dragon with a windfury or cleave, or even just minor buffs with smuggler or Karath-immune demon. All-round solid - as someone without the pass I'll happily pick mediocre heroes as most of the time the other is bad.

Mechs feel dependant on grease across multiple turns into buster, and even then, I doubt they can handle demons. Demons are my go-to, honestly - I'll happily take a 1-minion T3 to get a weaver, for example. Early, crazy scaling.

Pirates need smoethnig good, but I don't see how you can really get them to be decent, even with patches.

Parrot isn't good for the mode, IMO, but without it, what happens to beasts?

    Voljin hero tip ---

If you have 2 Chromowings (the Tier 1 Dragon that attack grows) + a Whelp Smuggler ...

If you use your hero power to switch stats between the 2 Chromowings, 1 of them gets health buffed by Whelp Smuggler.

So if every turn you swap stats between 2 Chromowings with different attack, you can make their health huge.

Then I bought a Hydra and swapped stats with the Chromowing, having a 70/70 Hydra.

I did similar - although without the hydra. Ended up with my massive Chromawing swapped onto an amalgam with windfury which was similar, though. Vol'jin has some better synergies than I expected there! Most of the time I was upgrading other stuff rather than going for a smidgen of extra health, but it's a nice little bonus for when your other stuff can't be upgraded :)

So far I'm having fun. My biggest success so far it's Elementals, they can get bonkers thanks to the avenge elemental. Master of Realities is a huge improvement over Lieutenant Garr.

Hmm. Are you using realities with a couple of the TT2 HP gain cards and cycling? Still feels like it's basically a worse Rag. Mabye if you can cycle the +1/+1 to all elementals, but that seems unreliable. Garr was great for providing a huge wall, and if you canget some attack buffs it was really effective.

Even with the avenge elemental, they get giong too slow for keeping pace with demons, and dragons can usually outsize, I find. Not my preferred choice.

I must say it is nice to see some actual BG discussions finally.  This section has been slow for a while.

I finally ground my way to the 6k  tier.  Does anyone know where the next tier past 6k is?

How do you mean tier? There's previously been no rank floors above 6k if that's what you mean.

How about leapfrogger gaining the word 'another'? Not convinced that would be enough, but would stop the stupid parrot only endings. I still think that the parrot probably should go, though. That and doomsayer to avenge(4). Leaves beasts weak, though - every strong beast build since parrot came in was parrot related.

Just remove macaw and the issue is solved beasts still will be viable with the avenge give all beasts +1/+1 and token builds so that wont be an issue.

Without macaw, what do you see a topend beasts build being? The entire tribe's revolved around macaw since that and Goldrinn came in. I don't think that bird buddy is enough to make a token build good enough to compete. Macaw going would honestly be good, but you need some scaling - it'll end up like pirates otherwise, pretty much avoided like the plague.

Let's assume the most lucky instance when you have gold parrot and gold baron

    your parrot attacks first
first proc hits frog: deathrattle triggers three times and buffs itself 3 times
second proc hits frog as well: but now it has 4 deathrattles already and each of them will trigger 3 times so there's 12 extra buffs to go around.
your frog is taunted and dies to enemy attack: whatever buffs it had are tripled and spread around
then your reborn golden parrot attacks again and makes even more frogs.

It's just a mess when it kicks off.

Oh, I don't deny that it's a mess when it gets going. Lots of frog DRs. Feels like a lot of setup that can take a while, though, even if frog is, for some reason, just TT2. Until you have all three with multiple goldens, it's a scam RNG comp - dead to buffs going wrong or wrong attacks, like any early beasts.

    Quote from Rank25GG >>

The problem right now is, that the good minions are on turn 2 (frog) and on turn 3 (parrot and doomsayer), you dont need to force going to 5 or 6 to get good minions. The really feels bad moments are, when someone gets a doomsayer early on, the gold advantage is HUGE

I'd almost argue that weaver early is another feelsbad moment - but that is in part because of doomsayer feeding it and the T5 urz'hul for later game. If Soul Devourer wasn't in then doomsayer wouldn't be as bad - still a lot of value, but a T5 doomsayer into double devourer is utterly crazy. Should not have given that card to a tribe which has tokens as a major theme, particularly early.
