I know why people say this is a combo deck but in my mind patron was no longer a combo deck as soon as it stopped being a one turn kill deck, now in my mind it is a mid to late game deck with a whole lot of synergistic cards. That is why I like it so much actually, because it is a deck that requires lots of skill and experience to play right, due to the need to utilize your cards to their fullest potential, but has a much more interactive and board control based win condition. That is why Ragnaros fits into this deck because: it is harder now for people to deal with an 8/8 and it both helps to deal with large enemy minions and finish them off in a close scenario.

but my opponent emoted at me with various emotes mostly the wow emote, I think I was connected still and they were too but it was nobodies turn.

I am pretty sure nobody has enough information about the current meta yet to answer all of these accurately but in my experience no, yes, probably at least one not sure about 2, no, and lay on hands is mainly for card draw but the heal helps so run it if you feel like you are wanting more card draw and or you feel you need a little bit more survival.

I was playing warrior, played ravaging ghoul whirlwind attacked with my fiery war axe breaking it played battle rage then armorsmith then a fiery war axe then I ended. the armorsmith popped back into my hand, got played again and the fiery war axe stayed in my hand, now nobody can play and my opponent only has the mana left on their last turn and it is neither of our turns.

Anyone know what might have happened?

well don't get goblins versus gnomes packs, you may want to dust your naxxramas cards, which you can do now, a new expansion is coming out tommorow and some of it seems very amazing. If you don't have all the good stuff in the classic set get it. If you have any of the cards that got nerfed yesterday dust them just in case. it looks like control will probably be good in the upcoming expansion but nobody is sure. hard to advise on anything  though since the upcoming meta will be very different and nobody has gotten a sense of it yet.
