Dunscot posted a message on Tempo Mage Asserts Itself in the Post-Nerf MetaPosted in: NewsRegarding all the negative comments about how good Mage is...
I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but I am still more concerned about Control Warlock/Cubelock. Say what you want about Tempo Mage or Murloc Paladin or Big Priest, at least all these decks will likely disappear with the next expansion. Warlock might face a new counter or goes all the Priest route and receives yet another overpowered stalling card, and then as a result gets nerfed after being uncontested number 1 for roughly two months, but otherwise won't be affected much by the rotation.
Mage loses Medivh's Valet, Firelands Portal, Kabal Lackey and most importantly Kabal Crystal Runner, so the Secret-M has a lot to compensate. Paladins lose Grimscale Chum, Vilefin Inquisitor, Rallying Blade, Stand Against Darkness and Steward of Darkshire, making both Murloc and Recruit a good deal weaker, Priest loses... just about everything, and Druid doesn't look too well either without Jades or Mark of the Lotus. I guess all classes can still go with Spiteful Summoner to cheese games (so much for class diversity and identity), but in the meantime, Warlock loses Misstress of Mixtures and, only for the super lategame, N'Zoth.
So yeah, Mage might still be annoying and sometimes frustrating to play against for the next 8 weeks or so, but after that, I would have my money on Warlock. That is, if the next expansion does not make it irrelevant somehow.

Twitchy posted a message on Iksar Explains why no Keyword Exists for "Can't be Targeted by Spells or Hero Powers"Posted in: News- There isn't a great word for the effect that clues you in to what it does.
And the first time somebody reads 'Adapt', the first thing that comes to mind is obviously "Choose 1 out of 3 options from a pool of 9 different buffs".

thazud posted a message on Mike Donais and Peter Whalen on Nerfs, Design, Early Kobolds Cards, and Cards that Didn't Make ItPosted in: NewsIn other words, K&C is a huge disappointment as only a few archetypes are able to emerge. Most of the new cards are not used. Shaman & Warrior became dead classes as the powerful cards are given to the powerful classes.
Yep I think we all remember how oppressive Paladin and Warlock were in KOFT. -

I usually stick with more practical names for my ladder decks, but I always makes my gimmicky ones as ridiculous as possible. My favorite name so far is "Thicc Bois Revelations", which is Jungle Giants ramp deck

Don't really think this will see much play, cool idea though

This deck really does need Ice Block

Now that Goblins vs. Gnomes and Curse of Naxxramas are stuck in the wild format, I've been thinking about Blizzard's decision to completely remove GvG packs from the shop and Naxx from the Solo Adventures, and I'm really just confused as to why it was necessary to do this. One could argue that those cards could confuse new players, but would it really be too much to add a disclaimer when buying either that says something like "The cards featured in this pack/adventure can be used ONLY in the Wild format."? I know you can still craft the cards, but as someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on the game (I've been playing for free for nearly 2 years now), crafting cards that can only be used in one of the two formats is not really a good idea.
But then I thought "If they could bring back outdated cards like those from GvG I would actually consider grabbing some of those packs". I think this would be a lot more affordable for players like myself, and it really seems like it would be an easy addition with no real repercussions.
So what do you guys think? Would this be a good idea or should these cards be doomed to a life of craft-only? I'm curious to see what the community thinks and what kind of alternative solutions everyone can come up with.
