posted a message on Which Class is the most unfair?
    Quote from ender2003 »

Let's just go ahead and say that every class is unfair. Every class has cards that make people cry and complain about how OP they are.

For Druid, it is the huge taunts or the removals that they have combined with the late game combos that can burst for 20-30 damage in a turn. Adding extra mana crystals can lead to very early plays that win games fast.

For Mage it is the massive AoE spells like Flamestrike that can usually wipe a board or the freeze decks that stall for several turns at a time. Antonidas is usually a game winner, and Unstable Portal, while unreliable, can make a huge difference.

For Rogue it is the pumped weapons + Blade Flurry that pisses people off the most.

Hunter has fast creature drops combined with powerful spells that synergize with their Beasts, plus some of the best Secrets in the game.

Warrior is full of Charge cards and a lot of removal, plus right now it seems like everyone and their dog is complaining about the Grim Patron warrior deck with Commanding Shout, Bouncing Blade, Frothing Berserker, and Warsong Commander.

Priest has all of the card-stealing spells like Thoughtsteal or Mind Control, I can't count the number of salty threads for those.

Paladin can also spam small creatures and buff them to hell and back, plus a crapton of Divine Shield creatures/spells.

Shaman has the overload cards that are pretty powerful and can also drop some pretty powerful creatures fast, plus the fun with totems for card draw/healing. With cards like Resurrection and Ancestral Healing, deathrattle decks were extremely powerful for them.

Last but not least, we have Warlock. Cards like Mal'Ganis make a demon deck deadly powerful and handlock is still a very viable deck due to all the card draw.

In other words, every class is overpowered

This.  If you want to play combo/tempo/aggro/control something counters you.  Your counter is likely the class you think is OP.  IMO the game is extremely well balanced for all of the variables.  Just another QQ thread #constructive.

posted a message on Skill to luck ratio in hearthstone?

As with any card game luck in a single game varies drastically and can climb close to 100%.  In HS if I have all of my big drops at the top of my deck I will lose to someone who drew to curve.  In MTG all of your land can be in the top of your deck, in Holdem your seven deuce tends to lose.  None of these factors make you a bad player and no one can argue that they are anything but luck based.

The entire point is that luck is removed when the sample size is large enough.  I get to roughly the same rank every season, it has everything to do with the fact that I have reached my skill cap.  True I can run hot and climb 2 ranks or run cold and fall 2 ranks, but again that is reducing the sample size.

To anyone saying luck is the biggest aspect of this game is only viewing a small sample.  I can assure you, I am not going to luck my way to legend this season.

Tirion.  Unless Tirion is driving the Sneeds, or I suppose if Tirion is driving the Sneeds that was driving the Sneeds, and well I guess if Tirion was driving the Sneeds that was..... ouch..... I think I just pulled something.

Definitely Sylvanas.  She has a lot more flexibility in regards to what decks she fits into.

posted a message on What was the first legendary card that you got in a booster pack?

Very first pack from completing the story line I opened a golden Grommash.  Tried him in aggro decks with not much luck, still kept him despite not playing warrior much beyond the first month.  Still have him today in a complete control warrior deck.

posted a message on New Gamemode: 40 card deck and 8 in starting hand - less RNG?

We all want more cards in our deck is a bit strong.  I'm perfectly happy with 30.  There are a ton of balance issues if you consider increasing card pool and health pool, not to mention increased average game length.

I'm not sure your concept reduces RNG.  It would likely make it worse (atleast from a card draw stand point).  You are effectively reducing the chance you have to draw card X as there are now 10 other cards in that potential draw pool.

Mulliganing through 16/40 cards is also insane.  I have no idea how that will affect the game, but I'm pretty sure it will be won or lost on starting hand.

How can a bigger deck possible make a deck stronger? With a smaller deck you can more viable pull off your combos while a big deck will be more inconsistent. The games would in most cases not be longer, how often do you reach fatigue in constructed and in the arena? Not that often, so only the games that whould reach fatigue in normal mode, would create longer games. With more gamemodes the more freedom will the user have, and that's only a good thing.

The bigger deck being more inconsistent was my point... i.e. it doesn't reduce RNG it increases card draw RNG.

With less consistent draw you will on average be forced into longer games (yes even being an aggro deck)... example being a mage finishing you on T6 instead of T5 because they were 1 card further away from a fireball.  Not to mention any fatigue game will grow by 10 minutes as you work your way through 10 additional cards.

And lastly I do think hearthstone needs more game modes, but your point is flawed.  More game modes is not always good, over saturation is a thing.

posted a message on Priest deck critique

Deck seems to be anti aggro with some late game elements.  I would consider replacing MC for something like Voljin (if you have it).  I agree with Bitwo, the sunfury seems out of place.  I would consider a shrienkmeister or a SW:P.

Other than that, solid deck, could certainly climb with it.

posted a message on 9 Class Cards (one for each)

Moonkin is cool.  Like the concept and an option to gain armor over life.

Beastmaster is good, could maybe argue a bit strong, boar / timber wolf / webspinner would be great pulls, hungry crab would be good since its a free 1/2.  Only 2 busts.

Brainlock I like, freeze mage gets more stall lol.

Emancipate is situational, better than kings.  I think I'd like it to say silence a minion so it could be used on your opponent, might be too OP.

Mindflip, probably too strong.  Drop a junk creature and you essentially have a 5 mana mindcontrol.

Gilnean Gentleman, I'd rather it didnt have stealth, give your opponent a chance to deal with it.

Chain Lightning, a situational flame strike for an effective cost of 5, I like it, probably wouldnt be used over storm though.

Dark Intent, more demon synergy, has a savage roar flavor, I like it.

Gladiator, would like it to say costs 2 less per weapon durability.  Upgrade and greenskin abuse possible, but atleast a fast style warrior would get some help.

Overall, I like them a lot, great unique ideas.  Brain Lock is my winner.

You know what happens when a good movie comes out... I pay to go see it.

You know what happens when a bad movie comes out... I don't go see it.

You know what happens when a free movie comes out... that doesn't happen.

Blizzard is a company that continues to produce extremely (opinion) entertaining games and contrary to popular belief, their employees show up every day because they collect a paycheck.  The fact that there is even a F2P model is a gift and its absurd that people complain that its not good enough.  Continue to complain if you must, but you must purchase your opinion.

To address OP comment: Blizzard will make far more money by producing a balanced game that appeals to the long term player.  A change for a short term boost in income will likely be a net loss over time.

posted a message on Its about time Blizzard! [Undertaker Nerf Discussion]

Lets start constructive: Was the nerf bat too strong?  I think I would have liked to see it become a 1/3 - gain 1 attack minion.  I imagine different variations were tested internally and leaving it as a 1/2 was the most balanced.  *Shrug*.  It was still a much needed nerf.

Lets be realistic: I by no means think this is the death of hunter or aggro, we'll just being seeing more face hunter.  Probably more zoo and mech mage as well.

Lets cut to what really matters: The worst part about this nerf is the never ending posts about whatever the new OP card is that needs to be nerfed.  At least people were getting bored and you only saw one new thread a day about undertaker.  Two days after this hits we'll have another 3 month period where everyone complains about how OP card or deck X is.  I can't wait...

Wow, that many warlocks.  ~100 games isn't the greatest sample size but if warlocks were that rampant on NA I think I'd have played more.  Suppose that's just a difference between NA and EU right now.
