    I'm going to really miss the golden epic rewards... all the rewards combined (not including the 'first time' rewards) are less than one golden epic.  I won't feel bad about not grinding to rank 5 for it now, though; there's nothing worth laddering for, so I can play more Arena now instead.  A few arena runs and it'll be worth as much as the end of season rewards will be.

    Vargoth is just broken as hell.  When it was released as a one-of (the first time they did that) and someone showed it to me, I thought it was an April Fools fan-made card joke.  I don't even know how to fix it properly.  I suppose maybe if it cost more mana so that you couldn't play it with Time Warp (and other cards; see rez priest) that it might be balanced.

    I play only Wild and Arena, so I don't really care about the hall of fame, but I feel like they don't really know what the priest identity is based on the choices they've made to hall of fame.  They removed all the shadow priest style cards, which is a core part of priest identity.  If I played standard, I would be really annoyed with the choices.

    I do like the Holy Smite change, though.  It's a much more useful card now; the +1 damage is worth way more than the occasional smite to the face.

    And whoever decided to unnerf Raza must be a new employee who didn't see what happened with Raza/Shadowreaper.

    I did a couple arenas for the first time in awhile, and hadn't played this meta yet.  I went 7-3 in both of them and every loss was to dragonqueen alexstraza or twin tyrant, with roughly half discovered by something else.  Twin Tyrant should be nerfed; he's just got too strong an effect attached to a huge body, and he's often something like 3 or 4 to 1 card advantage as a result.  Nerfing Twin Tyrant's health to something like 4-5 would at least keep him from being an almost-flamestrike plus 8-12 face damage and/or trading with 2-3 more minions/spells.  Even a 4/4 Twin Tyrant would be very playable, though; he probably needs all his numbers adjusted to find some sweet spot where he can exist without being OP.  4/6 deal 3 damage to 2 targets or something... I'm not sure the exact numbers that would be best for him, but he's definitely a card that should've been playtested, because he clearly wasn't.

    I have no idea what to do about Dragqueen Alex in the arena, though.  In constructed, it's not a problem, but in arena it's just one of those 'oops I guess I can play bad all game and topdeck it and win' cards.  Banning it in arena is probably the right solution, since I can't think of any reasonable changes or nerfs to it without damaging constructed.

    posted a message on Do not pick Pyramad - Learned it the hard way...

    I had a murloc deck with pyramad get 1st this afternoon, the first time in ages I've even picked pyramad, but the other two choices were two of the worst heroes, so I figured I'd give him a try.  He's really strong in the early game, because you almost can't lose the first few matches, and murlocs suffer a lot from low hp.  I got to top 3 on the back of the hero power and then managed to roll a brann/megasaur at that point and crapped on a stacked Tirion board three times in a row to win and leave him in 2nd.  Admittedly, the megasaur was extremely lucky, but even if I hadn't had it, I'd have gotten 2nd with pyramad that game.  If you plan when you buy and sell and play things, you can increase your odds of the hero power going where you want it, and in murlocs, once you start giving them poison with toxfin, it almost doesn't even matter which murloc it is at that point, it has infinite attack and you're just buffing their weakest point which is their health.

    I'm certainly not saying pyramad is top tier or anything, but he's way better than patches, ragnaros, and millhouse, and arguably a few others as well.  I picked him over Bartendotron and Elise, which I consider worse than Pyramad, but I realize not everyone would agree on those two.

    Fiery War Axe, Hex, Big Game Hunter.  Probably the three worst nerfs of all time, especially when BGH was nerfed right before they printed Flamewreathed Faceless.

    posted a message on [62% WR] RENO DRAGON DRUID

    Swizard and I came up with something very similar to this; I'm not sure if it was borrowed from us or whether it was created independently, but there are a few cards different.  It's probably the most fun druid deck possible right now, and I don't normally like druid (9th in portrait wins on ladder for me)  Our version had Firetree Witchdoctor and Netherspite Historian for a bit more early game that scales well into lategame with the discovers, Brann Bronzebeard , Frizz Kindleroost, Barista Lynchen, and Spiritsinger Umbra for the obvious synergies, and Blackwing Corruptor for removal as some of the biggest changes.  The other differences are minor and mostly because I didn't have a few of the cards I wanted to use.

    The one card Swizard and I disagreed on was The Curator.  I like it because it pulls Hadronox when you don't have him (or Winged Guardian if you include one; we didn't at the time because the adventure wasn't yet released) and a dragon, plus it's a taunt for Hadronox to resummon, but he thought it was too slow.

    Emperor Thaurissan would probably be a pretty good addition as well, due to all the lovely and fun greed in the deck :)  Embiggen might work, but it might also slow the deck down too much; I don't have a copy so I haven't tried it.  I also thought Lucentbark and Splintergraft would be fun choices, but not optimal, and I didn't have them to try.

    I'm not 100% sure, which is why I made the thread, but it sure looked like I was, and they were both charged for the second week.  I was able to play the first week without paying, and I'm pretty sure it was both halves, but who knows?

    Just to doublecheck that I didn't get screwed by a bug or something because literally nobody is talking about the new pricing for this adventure:

    Chapter 1: I got this free

    Chapter 2: Has good and evil versions.  Good version was 700 gold.  Evil version was an additional 700 gold, for 1400 gold.

    Assuming Chapters 3 and 4 are similar, that's 4200 gold for the entire adventure and all the cards.  Is it really double the cost of previous adventures, or did I somehow get doublecharged?
