Kripp literally made a video yesterday with the title "anti-shaman is the new meta" . Honestly man, just have to roll with the punches. You'll probably find more innovative decks at rank 5 & up but Kripp also made a rather valid point of why aggro decks are so popular for ladder.
"Having a 1-drop in hearthstone makes such a big deal because most 1-drops trade with most 2-drops. When you ramp it up further than that (when you have a high quality 1-drop into high quality 2-drop) it becomes a situation where if your opponent doesn't have a 1-drop. Then when you have a 2-drop your opponent's 2-drop kills your 2-drop for free because of quality issues when aggressive decks can run slightly better early game cards than control decks. Going even further is when you face a player who has a 1-drop turn 1, then a 1-drop and another 1-drop turn 2. If you play a 2-drop at this point, going back to the point that most 1-drops can trade with most 2-drops, you are left with a situation where you will be so far behind on board that you're going to take constant repetitive damage."
Another point he made is the value-for-mana cost in comparison to if that card had a higher mana cost (multiplying a 1-drop's stats to try to equate to a different minion).
"Say you have a chillwind yeti, 4/5 for 4. If you multiply the stats of chillwind yeti so that he was an 8-mana card, you would have 8/10 for 4. This type of valuation will have a consistent representation for all minions with cost greater than 4. This skews ridiculously when you apply this method to cards with lower cost. i.e. multiply a flame juggler's stats by 2, it is as if you have a 4/6 4 mana card that does 2 damage to a random enemy, and it would be considered the best 4 drop in the game."
Another example:
"If you look at possessed villager, it's a decent 1-drop, nobody's really complaining about it. But if you compare possessed villager to cairne, some people are actually complaining about cairne. Cairne would have to be a 6/6 minion and the deathrattle would have to spawn a 6/6 for it to be in line with possessed villager. Possessed villager is a considerably better card than cairne FOR IT'S PER-MANA CRYSTAL COST"
If I can win a game in 5 minutes with aggro shaman, but it takes me 15 minutes to win a game with control warrior, I am only punishing myself for not playing a deck that nets me more wins in less time than using another deck. Another point Kripp has made. They're all valid points.
It's all about what tyler1 said: "Kids are bad and need to be told they're bad". That's why people BM. If you don't BM, you're doing yourself wrong and missing out on some fun. Also, kids are bad and need to be told they're bad

Y'Shaarj is amazing in ramp druid though. Save 2 innervates, turn 6 Y'Shaarj and he pulls out ironbark or rag = instaGG
