I drew doomsayer in time to get 7 treasures. On my final boss, wax rager from the treasure room in particular carried me to victory and the card back after an insanely dramatic game. I drew and played wish right before I died, then just played control and pushed face with the wax ragers. GG ME TAKE CANDLE
Except that unlike in MTG, in this case the difference between attack total and the opposing minion's health doesn't factor into it. it always goes off unless the creature dies.
Stick with 1 deck if it's rank 1 worthy it's rank legend worthy aswell just make the final push pay good attention for no misplays GL!
These are two very good pieces of advice. Pick a deck with a decent win rate overall averaged across all classes/decks in the meta, and stick with it. Every time you misplay and realize you messed up, think of it as a success that you noticed and have learned something and will be able to correct it in the future. The more you notice when you and your opponent make suboptimal plays, the better you'll get! Also you'll get better at picking up on what your opponent is planning by what cards they play/hover over and consider playing/how they trade if they're setting up for AOE or removal, etc.
Depending on the meta that's going on at rank 1, I'd say that the two top contenders for best overall win rates right now are, in order:
1) Midrange shaman. If you're seeing lots of other shamans, tech in 2 lightning bolts, a harrison, and either barnes+rag or argent horseriders. I recommend only running 1 mana tide. I've had more success with fire elementals than flamewreathed. Totem shaman is favored in the mirror, but has a worse overall winrate than any of these three decks.
2) Secret hunter. The one in This Video appears to the best overall; shaman is favored against it because of their very early taunts and clears. However, if you're not versing that many shaman, this is a very very strong deck. Be smart about the secrets you play, and try to save quick shot for when your hand is empty. Avoid trading or pinging creatures as much as possible. It's a cancerous face deck which in typical Hunter fashion often topdecks lethal--however, since most of the deck is direct damage, this is not a problem.
3) Tempo mage.
If you're seeing significant amounts of hunter and freeze mage, I actually recommend trying teching in an eater of secrets, which if you draw it is an almost-guaranteed win against freeze mage, and hugely ups your odds against secret hunter. Alternatively, ragnaros, especially barnes+ragnaros (particularly in tempo mage and shaman) gives you very very good odds against freeze mage, which either wastes nine damae of burn on rag and/or gets rekt as she takes 16 damage before she pings it off (the ragnaros effectively negates all or at least half of the freeze mage's healing through ice barrier, which is absolutely huge). Also, it of course it can pop the block each turn it's up.
Take my advice with a grain of salt, as I only made rank 5 this season. I don't think I'm entirely wrong about any of this, however. Other strong decks include malygos druid, spell damage (maly+miracle) rogue, beast druid (good against shaman), and midrange mage with archmage antonidas. I was at about a 55% win rate, with a very good rate against secret hunters and rogues (around 75%), playing my midrange shaman deck with no harrison or ragnaros. I was one win away from rank five at least a half-dozen times, and went all the way back to rank seven more than once before I finally broke rank five. I'm sure you're used to this process, but I just wanted to encourage you not to give up even if you drop a rank or two. That's the nature of grinding to legend. If you start getting burned out, voice chat with a friend who can help you out, or take a walk, or play casual and wreck some noobs (I recommend letting them win in the end though.)
Lol, who cares about money... if 10 dollars is something u need to think about when u want to spend it on some bs [e.g. computer games], you should seriously think about ur life... :]
I was debating the math with some players yesterday. It looks like to get 50/50 odds to break even, you need to be in the top 25% of players in combined deck strength and skill level. To have a non-zero chance to get to 12 wins, you'll need to be in the top 5% of players. To have a substantial >.1% chance to get to 12 wins--top 1% of better. Keep in mind that the field of play is going to be saturated with players with very good decks and very high skill levels. Getting to 3 wins is very possible, even likely, but getting your money back or better just isn't going to happen to most people. Getting the dream of 12 wins is all but completely impossible for most players. Something like .001% of people who get to 12 wins will get there without being "strong enough."
I hope these numbers help keep this in perspective. This brawl is like loaning money to a friend. If you can't afford to never see your 1000 gold again, don't do it.
Does this math assume that everyone will be brawling? I think it will be heavily skewed toward top players who think they actually stand a chance of winning many games.
So the competition may be even fiercer, and your chances of reaching 12 wins considerably lower.
The percentages are in reference to players in the brawl. To be getting even odds, a player would have to be in the top quarter of players participating in the brawl, yes.
I believe the chances of reaching 12 wins is zero for most people, very very small for very good players, and very small only for the creme de la creme.
