m4tizeq posted a message on The screenshots thread! Share your funny/awesome moments!Posted in: General DiscussionI've met in WoW King Krush, it's described as "extremely rare and hard to find Northrend creature". It's my 1st character ever so I don't know a lot about game, but I assume it was luck.
Few hours later:
So it's green or blue? :D

Horkinger posted a message on Return of the botsPosted in: General DiscussionThe time between moves is not necessarily a indication of bots. If I play on Asia or NA account I get about 1-2 seconds lag after ordering a move. That results in exactly the same time between minion attacks and card plays.
One time I had been accused of botting by an asian gentleman who wouldn't step away from the idea even though I was talking to him :P
I guess you answered like: "Processing request... Answer: I am no - beep - Bot. Honest-beep-ly, I am human_guy... -beep-"

Flood posted a message on Legendary Tier Crafting GuidePosted in: Card DiscussionA New Legendary Crafting Tier List Has Appeared!
The ratings in the thread are more than my opinion, they are opinions of people I know, myself and popular Steamers such as Trump, Reynad, Sjow, etc. I am ranking the Cards in Tiers/Brackets I am doing this because it is impossible to rate them from 1 to X.
This is not a tier list of the best Legendaries, this is a Crafting Tier list. This list is used to find out which Legendaries to craft and Disenchant. Arena and non-competitive play have no bearing on this list.
I have arranged the Legendaries this way to not only show their importance in constructed but also to inform readers on how/why they are useful. If you have any questions about the tier list ask them, if you believe the tier list should be changed in any way, PM me.
Remember: If you would like to know what Legendary to craft, please include the decks you play and the decks you are going to play. This is necessary and someone can help you a lot easier.
Press Ctrl + f to find in page!
THE PAGE WILL BE UPDATED IN THE COMING DAYS AS THE META STABALIZES

XanXon posted a message on NEW - Achievements in Hearthstone!Posted in: Fan CreationsGreetings, Traveler!
Hearthstone is now ~ 2 years old, but there aren't any achievements in it yet. My question is: why not? This would be a great way to motivate players over a long periode of time, especially now with the upcoming formats. So I thought about possible some achievements ... but there was a problem: where should they be placed Ingame? After a few hours, I created some graphics to explain my result.
Okay, let's get started. First of all I placed the Achievement button next to the Collection, directly on the right side. By clicking on it a new layer opens:
(Click here to watch the full sized grafic)
On the left side, you can see, that there are 3 categories: Collection, Account and Conditions. The first one contains Achievements based on generell all Hearthstone cards. Summoning a minion, activate a spell for the first time, collection a special amount of a cardgroup etc. Here's an example:
The thing is, that you don't have to own this minion for this achievement, you also just can play it in Arena/Brawl. After reaching, this achievement get's a 'tick' and coloration.
But that wasn't all! When you have this achievement, you can work on the next one:
Simple, isn't it?
-------
The next categorie is Account. Here are all achievements, which depends on the own progress like completing an adventure or reaching a rank in a season.
The last categorie are the Conditions, as shown in the graphic. These achievements needs special Ingame situation like winning a match with a complete-murloc deck, killing your opponent with e.g. the Leper Gnome-Deathrattle, summoning Thaddius and many different more (there are like endless ideas, but I just made three as an example in the graphic).
Normally, you can only reach the achievements in Play mode, Arena, Brawl or sometimes also while fighting adventures, but some achievements shows the following icon:
This means, that you can solve them also in a match against friends (because they may not be solvable in normal matches). The reason of this is, that achievements should be a longtime-motivation.
Collection:
Work in progress! =]Account:
Work in progress! =]
Conditions:
Work in progress! =]
Okay, that was my "short" explaination for the achievements. What do you guys think? Do you want this in Hearthstone or not? And what are your ideas for achievements (also different ones!)? Let's start a collection for Blizzard! :)
Sorry for grammar-mistakes, I'm not a native speaker. ^^

This is a new design. You can find the old one here:

brilliant_gnome posted a message on Elder Scrolls Legends - Now in Open Beta!Posted in: Other GamesI wanted to respond in a bit of detail to the criticism or opinion rather that HearthStone has better characters and more memorable ones than ESL.
First off, this has nothing to do with game play and is IMO slightly off topic since it is 100% opinion, whereas pros and cons of say the lane system or a 50-70 card deck limit are not all opinion but facts about game play.
This same comment came up quite a bit when Elder Scrolls first got big as an RPG. People naturally compared it to Final Fantasy (which was on top of the RPG chain at the time), and to Bioware games like Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect. Elder Scrolls is good and all, but there isn’t much of a story, and no great characters people said… yup…
Well, the thing is, Elder Scrolls games including Legends is not trying to have an interesting set of characters or a flashy hook line story. It is more like D&D which has variety in race, class, monsters, skills, and attributes.
The characterization is in the races. If you are familiar and a fan of Elder Scrolls, this is apparent, if not, it may not be so obvious. And this is why ES do make such a great card game.
There are Khajiit (race of cat people), Argonions (lizard men), elf races (3 races, wood, high, and dark), and the human races of various strengths and weaknesses (nord, redguard, brenton, imperial, and redguard). These races ARE the characters behind the game. There are also the Dwemer machines (neutrals atm). They don’t stand out like Ysera or Rag, but the variety and combinations of color make up for this.
I don’t work for Bethesda, but I have been a fan since Morrowind which was released almost 15 years ago. Which is why I think that they deliberately made the characters subtle to focus on race, and let you focus more on the mechanics on the game and not get so wrapped up in who’s who.
As far as the art, it’s a bit dull in color… but its fine overall.
Shadowverse came out recently, and I have gotten very tired of the Japanese anime style, however, that has nothing to do with my critique of the game compared to ESL or HS for someone who hasn’t. That’s just my meaningless opinion and has zero to do with it. When I get around to trying Shadowverse, a graphics comment is no more than a quick one line mention if even that when I review it…
You can say you don’t like Chess because you don’t wanna look at black and white squares for hours. Someone out there might respect that opinion. But when critically comparing it to other games, it’s pretty meaningless.
Case closed.
Actually Elder Scrolls has one of the finest lores in any computer game. They have kept it from TES: Arena and developed it since, every game is packed with hundreds upon hundreds of books, scroll, hints, small secrets and dialogue to that effect. Some of it is even hinted at in small scenes you come across in the game. The mythos is very unique and extremely compelling, with a very rich character tree. Their daedric mythos is also completely awesome. Very little the cliche about gods of good and evil, but instead a sort of fantasy-twist on elder beings beyond human morals and understanding. What they DON'T do is shove it in your face. There are no prolonged videos or cliched character dialogue. But it's there alright, thousands of pages, small finds, secrets and dialogue in every game - but it's for those who look for it and want to experience it.I actually don't think any computer game comes close. But, in the TES way you can blast through the games only looking at the stats if you want. The story and the mythos is there only if you want your character to be part of it. -

mnmsymmons posted a message on Since when is a coin a spell???Posted in: General DiscussionJust realised this and it doesn't make sense to me.
It's not a spell.. end of. If you disagree, congrats but I don't care.
A referee is not a wizard, a bank teller is not a arch mage and the homeless guy asking for change doesn't need it to deal damage to Nefarian.
And if it's generosity to call it a spell, why not let a spawned minion have its battlecry
BTW, Harry Potter didn't put a coin in his broomstick and Gandalf didn't throw coins at the balrog

I really like the way the board looks, actually. It all feels very fantasy yet semi-serious.

Yeah, Hearthstone just doesn't appeal to me at all any more.
Also, the tie on this guy is gone and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

No, I'm pretty sure that it's obvious that my post implied that it's a superior game, and I've moved on.

Some matches from the semifinals of the first Legends tournament, with commentary from one of the two players.
The finals will be posted soon, complete with video commentary from the organizers of the tournament.

Anyone else super excited by this game?

aggro is much less of a problem in legends, you just need to play some more and learn to counter it. it's basically nonexistent at higher ranks.

All this RNG is exactly why Elder Scrolls Legends is about to succeed.

A cool podcast that I recommend people check out, talks about the game and the first tournament that happened last week.
