Anecdotal evidence is not fact. On both sides. We will see where the truth lies in this then I will pick my side. Till then I’m neutral.

Agreed. However, just to elaborate a bit, I think these kind of promo events can be looked at as an ‘all-stars’ event. If the NFL held an all star event it would include Tom Brady, Patrick mahomes, Payton manning, etc. You probably wouldn’t find the likes of Andy Dalton, Dak Prescott or Matt Moore. Sure it would be nice to give these guys there shot, but it’s not usually what a promo event is trying to be about.

I guess some of the problem from Blizzards perspective could also be this:

We want to run an event that people will watch. We should invite people that viewers will get hype about. So... Kibbler, Trump, Kripp, Dog..etc. People know them, they get butts in seats.

The gamble is running an event, while highlighting other lesser known content creators, and it possibly looking like: Jim5556 & Girlunicorn & personthatplaysHS. They may all be really great, but personally seeing a list like this makes me way less interested in the event because the draw becomes about gameplay.. which in my opinion is a very low percentage of why I watch HS events.

However, introducing a couple lesser known creators that are very entertaining to every event is a fantastic idea. J4cieChan comes to mind. Great personality, good at HS but invited to very little.

posted a message on Art direction in Hearthstone

Considering you have immortal as your avatar image it’s not surprising you want bleaker/darker art. Lol. I have, however, always been a fan of the ridiculous campy aesthetic of hearthstone. Magic does a great job of being more dark/realistic, I’m glad hearthstone has its own silly identity.

Terrence is a big one. Not sure if he still plays tho. EducatedCollins is also a person of colour, but mostly (entirely?) plays battlegrounds. Not sure of any others. Ant as well as Muzzy are amazing players, not sure of ethnicity, or if they’re playing anymore, but both were tournament mainstays for quite a while

posted a message on Rewards Track Client Patch - Updated With Gold Swaps For Packs

I assure you I am the furthest from free to play, but playing is only half of the fun for me. The other aspect of ‘fun’ comes from opening packs and getting rewarded for my play time. MTGA and LoR have a great system where you feel like you are being rewarded for playing, even if you lose it’s ok, cause you can que again and get those next couple of wins and get the gold you need to buy a pack and hopefully get that mythic/legendary you’re after. The problem with the new ‘reward’ track is I’ve been playing for 2 days for a couple hours and am still 500 Xp away from my next pack. That ultimately just feels bad.

with the old system I could finish off an hour or two of playing and at the end have a nice little pick me up (especially if I faced nothing but broken shit, and lost a ton) and have a pack or so to open. Now it feels anti-climactic. And that feels terrible. The grind is good, but only up to a point

I was a bit quick to defend blizzard. my love for this company goes back to the first warcraft when I was in grade 8. I feel connected, in a weird way, to the company. I was raised on their games. I've played hearthstone since GvG and absolutely fell in love with it. However for the last 2 years i've slowly started stepping away from the game, due to the escalating price to play, but felt rejuvinated with the new expansion and the promise of a new and 'super-rewarding' reward system. I am now at level 23 and am absolutely going nowhere. I'm at a dead standstill. I have 0 gold in the bank. 0 quests to earn me anything, and 0 reward for playing for a couple hours today. I have spent way too much money on this game, and can honestly say I am 100% done with giving them any more.

I'm pretty much at the end of my time with blizzard. They're definitely not the company they once were, and it's genuinely heart breaking.

posted a message on Blizzard Adjusts and Explains Decision on Blitzchung Affair - With Blitzchung's Reaction

the white supremacy statement actually holds true. It's not worded well, but the idea is essential to the situation. If Blizzard allows their stage to be used as a place for individual ideologies, even ones that are noble, it absolutely opens the floor for anyone with an agenda. It's a slippery slope, and it sets a precedent, that is dangerous. I think we can all agree that we would rather not open up more avenues for people to spread hate.
