I do think there's a bit of a difference here, though. While I agree Jade Druid will remain very, very good, it's Priest that will reap a lot of the benefit. Prepare to be machine-gunned over and over.

Does it though? I mean, in the Jade Druid v. Razakus match-up, the only change worth noting is the one to Innervate. That's an important change, don't get me wrong. But does it change the way that game plays out much?
I feel like that matchup, even now, is more even than is typically assumed. Slowing Jade down may be just enough to tip the matchup.
Outside of Jade, what's thought to be the current best counter to Priest is Pirate Warrior, which got heavily nerfed.
Board-flood decks maybe got a little bit of help with the Plague nerf, but Priest often just stomps those, so any uptick in those decks is beneficial for Priest.
Obviously we're all making educated guesses here, but I think part of the reason they didn't completely rip Jade Druid to shreds is that it's the main thing preventing Prieststone from happening.
    [Edit: Corrected typo.]

It is sort of funny. After the Purify fiasco, one worry was they would overcompensate in much the same way they did with Shaman. The final act in the Shaman drama was the post-Karazhan nerfs, which did kill one oppressive archetype (aggro) as intended, but in the process created the far worse midrange deck that gave us Shamanstone.

Seems like history is repeating itself after all.

posted a message on If these changes don't work...

You can see the issue they face from the EU playoffs last weekend: If you take Druid out of the meta entirely, all you're left with is control.

So they weaken all Warriors, leave Jade in the meta, and I guess hope that tempo / aggro decks in less-played classes somehow fill in?

Don't think it'll happen, though. Priest is so strong against aggro that even just an uptick in that class is more than enough to suppress new aggro options. The Spreading Plague nerf isn't strong enough to compensate with an increased winrate on that side.

Obviously we'll see, but it sure looks like we're going to get a rock-paper meta.

Puzzling. I've heard that Shaman is overrepresented in Wild, so maybe that's it? Trying to prevent a recurrence of Shamanstone as a side effect of the other nerfs? It seems totally unnecessary to me.

    Priest rejoices.

Jade is still the best Druid, and by a larger margin now.

Murlocs relegated once again to meme-land.

    RIP Warriors.

posted a message on Druid is virtually unbeatable and this needs to be changed fast

There are going to have to be multiple nerfs to solve the problem.

Innervate seems obvious, as it's the only real overlap between Jade and Aggro. This certainly would hamper aggro, removing the hated turn 1 Flappy Bird or turn 3 Hydra. The problem, however, is that the usual proposed nerf (have it refresh crystals rather than grant new ones) hurts Jade much less, and certainly the deck would remain viable. So the net effect is to severely weaken the main check on Jade while changing Jade--the bigger problem of the two--at a barely decreased power level.

Spreading Plague is a possibility, too, but this is mainly anti-aggro Druid tech. Many builds run 1 or 0 copies, so it's hard to see how this fixes the current problem.

That leaves Ultimate Infestation. I think it's all but certain to get nerfed, especially in terms of the card advantage it provides.

It would not surprise me to see all three get adjusted. Depending on the exact adjustments chosen, IMO this may be an overreaction in the long run (RIP Keeper of the Grove), but I don't see how else you address the immediate problem.

I'm playing it, but damn I'm upset by how insane aggro Druid is. La-la-la 9-game win streak just blowing people out by turn 6. Deck is seriously broken.

Meh, enjoy your lucky streak. The deck has major weaknesses and even most Jade players started to tech against it. My winrate with the deck after some 50 matches is below 45% and it's not just because I'm a bad player.
Well, I hope you're right, so I don't have to feel as bad about playing it. Streak ended at 13, but it was probably luck.

posted a message on i miss the WOTG meta.

Pre-Karazhan I remember being Warriorstone, mainly--tempo Warrior was particularly good. Shaman had Aggro as its best deck, Druid was Spell (Maly + Yogg), Midrange Hunter (pre-CotW nerf) was very strong, Warlock Zoo was still very good (since this was before Maelstrom Portal).

That's what I remember, at least. Sure I'm leaving out some important decks.

    Quote from CasmX >>

Well, I've been playing quite a bit of this card and while it's extraordinarily powerful when you have Raza activated, without Raza I personally feel it's about average as far as DK hero powers go.

Now granted, I have only been testing this in a Raza deck so there's definitely some unexplored territory when it comes to the priest DK. However, it's really hard for me to imagine a scenario where having this hero power is all that good when it costs 2 mana with every single use.

I do play a Razakus build, and truthfully a lot of times you just win without even needing to play the DK, or if you do it's for the battlecry, not the hero power.
