Hope it gets replaced with something more interesting. I'm primary mage player and really don't like tempo mage concept. Its so dependant on your opening hand and RNG cards. Also it feels like you have to play super aggressive with it to have a chance at winning which leaves you very susceptible to a board wipe. There are other classes that do aggro better though so it's a losing battle.
If u know it's going to be bm, then wait a few mins before u accept until they are unprepared, then give them a taste of their own medicine. Quickly tell them they are terrible at the game, rub it in how badly u beat them, call them names, curse at them, basically act like a 13 yr old kid. Then unfriend before they can respond
Get an iPad for some reason hearthstone runs a lot smoother on ios compared to a Android. Usually I prefer Android but my iPad does better running hearthstone even tho my Android phone has better specs
Doubt blizzard analyzes which cards you are running in order to determine match up. It'd be a pain to program it that way and to maintain it as new cards are introduced, nerfed, meta changes in general, etc.
I'm not extremely experienced with freeze Mage but it feels a little weak to me. I understand it may just be my skill level dragging me down but still.... many of the aggro decks can put on consistent heavy pressure that you eventually run out of defensive spells or you simply can't draw them fast enough. C'thun can grow very powerful and can destroy you before you've had enough time to accumulate your burn spells or play alex. Some of the new minions have high HP, flame strike won't suffice. Paladins have great heals so you almost have to one turn kill them otherwise there's a chance they'll heal back to full HP after you play Alex. Control warriors still own you but they seem less prevalent so far. and freeze plus doomsayer almost never works. Granted they waste a turn killing doomsayer but it's very rare for it to actually kill minions.
Not criticizing this deck in particular, but I found this deck doesn't work on a fundamental level.
The biggest issue is mage doesn't have tempo secrets like hunter, yet the stats of kabal lackey and kabal crystal runner all encourage an aggressive playstyle. Secondly, mage secrets are just bad, easy to play around and redundant, like mirror image and potion of polymorph triggering together on a 1 drop. The third problem, medivh's valet and ethereal arcanist, all work against your secrets actually being triggered. In a way, you are punished when your opponent plays into a secret. Ice block is too late game of a secret to work very well. The fourth problem is card draw. The sheer amount of secrets you need play and the cost reduction means after turn 4 you can play your whole hand and there's so little space to actually fit card draw in this deck. This is really bad because all the strategy of which secret to play just goes out the window when you only have 1 secret in your hand and you need to play it to keep up the tempo. This leads to the fifth problem. After turn 5 the cost reduction don't even matter. You just end up playing poor minions for a pay off of a 0 mana 5/5 which is nothing in a meta where players are making 1 mana 7/7s.
