I have to disagree with "all of it depends on this card". I have played a lot of C'Thun games (many mirror matches included) and it was over before either player had a C'Thun hit the board.
This game needs to give more reasons for players to log in. At the moment, the ladder system is irrelevant, the casual mode is cancerous with netdecks, arena is nothing but pure RNG nonsense. There's actually NO reason to even play this game at the moment unless you are either a pro gamer or someone making a living off streaming.
"But you are supposed to play for fun" - this game got boring in 2 days.
I just don't get this. The game is boring, so you need more rewards so you can keep playing a boring game...?
That many legendary cards would be expected in control decks these days. Many people who are into the game enough to come here and use the message board have amassed decent collections by now, so why not include the good cards they have?
And compare that to an aggro deck which will often have 0-2 legedaries.
I'm less afraid of control-legendarish combos than the simple and usual start T1 Undertaker into T2 Haunted Creeper into T3 Mad Scientist into T4 double Feign Death
This seems to be a reasonable scenario assuming this winds up in a current hunter deck. Sounds scary, but overall 2 cards spent for two traps and 4 1/1's. In comparison, turn 4 could be Houndmaster for one card spent and 6/5 worth of stats added to the board. Houndmaster seems more difficult to deal with to me.
Its funny because it makes absolutely no fking sense at how slow they are releasing content. Other card games release 300 cards per 2-3 months and they are printed cards that cant be nerfed/buffed whatsoever. And we are waiting 30 measly cards in a digital game for that long. That makes absolutely no sense from whatever perspective you see it. Its not good for players and its not good for the company.
And this is marketed as a more casual game. How much time and money is spent keeping up with MtG? Yeah....
If you scan through the decklists posted on the site, you will find many decks that have taken people to legend with 0-1 legendary cards (in the case of 1, most likely Leeroy). Yes, it is more challenging to build on a budget and options will be more limited, but that is not to say that one can't be successful on a budget even when facing decks that cost a lot more dust.
Thank you for the video. I had been floundering in the 2-5 ranks for a while, but after watching, focused on a single, fast deck and was able to hit Legend.
