Patron is bad - most (if not all) streamers ;)

The Patron is indeed bad by itself. If there is no Frothing Berserker in warrior, patron warrior is not even a thing. When they evaluate this card they actually said the right thing about Patron itself, but they forgot the invention of Emperor, which is the biggest tumor in HS. How many OTK decks actually come in to existence because of it? They underestimated Patron warrior because they didn't correctly predict the potential of emperor. And now, it is happening again, and it's possible that they will underestimate the potential of Justicar trueheart, the mistcaller and chillmaw. So I'll hold on to that statement and blame emperor for that OTK crap.

posted a message on Face Hunter and Eboladin are ruining hearthstone

I think that people in this thread assumed that there are only 3 kinds of decks: face decks, Patron Warrior and control decks. Please don't forget that there's also a kind of deck called mid-range decks. You will have beast Druid, beast hunter, mid-range paladin, minion-based control decks like dragon warrior, dragon paladin, dragon priest. You even have Druid Communion decks which rushes for 10 mana and start dropping big minions. It will NEVER, EVER be the case where most of your game are spell-based control match-ups because as you can see, most new spells suck, and the new decks are all minon-based mid-range/control decks.

Also, I personally don't see Patron Warrior getting out of the meta. You save one owl for that chillmaw and it's still the same game: you control early, you swarm with patrons in the mid game, you remove with execute, you win the game with 60 damage combo. Especially with those inspire minions who need a solid board to gain value, Frothing Berserker still one-shot you no matter what. Unless they nerf warsong or something like that, I don't see it going out of the meta. Not to metion, some new minions have some bad body stats, and playing them against Patron Warrior can kill yourself very quickly.

Why are people mad about hunters? Not because it's going face, but it's because it's so frustrating to play against an aggro deck even if you put in so many tech cards and early-anti aggro cards and still lose. As a mid-range paladin, I still lose to aggressive zoo and face hunters even I have double chow, double healbot double belchor, kezan, harrison in the deck just because I can't draw them in time. Oh the other hand, I lose to other greedy decks because I put in too much effort fighting against early aggression. It's a fact that aggro decks curve out much easier beacuse the mana costs are so low that it is almost too hard to draw a unplayable hand. When they swarm the board and kill you on turn 5, the only cards that you count on are still sitting at the end of your deck, how will you feel? Basically in that case you are fked by RNG, and that's why I hate playing against cheap decks. In other words, when you are playing against aggro decks as control/mid-range, are have a worse RNG to start with because you need exactly those cards. But everything in the aggro decks serve the same purpose: stay and SMorc.

In TGT, all kinds of decks got some developments. Even Eboladin got the new secret that boosts the whole board after one turn. Discard Aggro warlock, Pirate Rogue, Murloc Paladin, beast hunter, they are still around and will rush you down like what it is now. A control meta hearthstone is not going to happen next patch. There will be all kinds of decks that you have to play against, and perhaps most of them are still aggro/swarm decks.

But right now? All aggro decks, period. I will wait for TGT and start playing hearthstone again because people are actually abusing the fact that the only way to consistently beat aggro decks is to play Patron warrior.

I did a brief calculation of the probability that you will draw this card at or before turn 4. I did the case when you start first, and I assume that you carry two of this card.

If you draw this card at the very start:

1-27*26/(30*29)=0.1931 (1 minus the probability that you don't draw this card)

If you replace all your cards for it and you actually get one:

27*26/(30*29)*(1-24*23/(27*26))=0.1724 (the probability that you don't draw this card in the beginning 3 cards times 1 minus the probability that you don't draw this card after replacing all 3)

If you draw this card on or before turn 4:

27*26/(30*29)*24*23/(27*26)*(1-23*22/(27*26))=0.17715 (the probability that you didn't draw this card before game actually starts times 1 minus the probability that you don't draw this card on or before turn 4)

Since these 3 cases are mutually exclusive, the sum of them is the probability that you will draw it on or before turn 4, which is:

    54.275%

The probability in case which you play second will be higher than this since you draw an extra card.

What do you guys think about this? If you make a deck that builds around this card, will it make sure that you always win if you draw it? What card will you put in so that you can still survive even if you don't have this card?

Looking at this card and I recalled there's a card called Foe Reaper 4000. It is actually much more efficient in board control, cost one mana less, not a BGH target, can attack hero and it is a mech. Since Foe Reaper 4000 is not even being played, I don't see this card being played either.I think this card is bottom line of slowness.

WTH someone downvoted me... Did I say anything wrong? Is it actually not cool to discuss and say this card is "bad" when it actually sucks as hell?

Putting this in another way, you will never realize how bad this card really is until you compare it with Patron.

    1.  This horse costs 4, Patron costs 5.

    2. Zoolock never, EVER runs Emperor, but Patron always does, so half of the time Patron is 4 mana.

    3. Patron can swarm the board easily, this horse cannot do that.

    4. Patron+Warsong is super strong at punishing aggro decks because it can easily clear aggro deck that has lots of low attack minions. This horse can only attack one at a time.

    5. Patron is 3/3 and you still have a body left after some trade, this card doesn't.

    6. There is no warlock card that can actually support this card at the moment. In other words, warlock cannot really abuse deathrattle. Comparing to Patron, warrior has SO MANY cheap cards that can trigger Patron and make the combo work, and that's why Patron is very good against aggro because it's easy to combo and therefore reliable. This? hehe.

So, if you wanna make a deck that builds around this, why not just play Patron?

It's true that this card is weak in terms of stats. However it might be good in the sense that if you summon this from void caller, you ignore the mana cost and you enjoy the fact that you always have a demon on the board no matter what. I also think that Anima Golem is a good combo with it simply because you have to silence this card to kill the giant.

However, the only deck that is actually good with this card, zoolock, already has ENOUGH minions that are sticky on the board, and you have Sea Giant to take over the place of Anima Golem because it costs much lower in general when you already has a decent board.

It's very strange that Blizzard is making lots of "seemingly interesting" but actually super slow cards like this and daydreaming that the meta will slow down. How will cards like this that requires at least 3 or 4 turns to be efficient slow down the meta? I don't get it.

Halfway throught TGT, I don't many cards that can actually fit in/change the meta well.

What if you have one of this in majordomo deck? You put majordomo on the board. Kill it and put this minion on the board, boom 16 damage.

then you should play something else, like shredder or something. It's unlikely for ramp/tempo Druid to run out of cards that early so I guess it's OK.
