posted a message on My First Paladin Deck - How did I do?

It looks like you need more big threats and some durable minions. A lot of your minions are pretty low impact compared to other cards in the basic set. Cards like Southsea Deckhand, Blessing of Might, Goldshire Footman, and Raid Leader can be replaced by cards like another Chillwind Yeti, Sen'jin Shieldmasta, Murloc Knight, Bog Creeper, and Boulderfist Ogre. Just make sure to keep a decent curve, not too many big threats and not too much early game.

Also, Acolyte of Pain is typically used in decks that can guarantee multiple draws off of him. Usually classes that have cards that allow them to deal 1 damage to their own Acolyte, like Mage and Warrior. Acolyte is good with Blessing of Kings though, so maybe he'll work for you :)

posted a message on What to craft -- epics or legendary?

Even though multiple epics would help your decks out more, I would still recommend the legendary. You are much more likely to open an epic from a pack than a legendary. Epics certainly aren't a bad use of dust, however.

posted a message on Is it worth playing still?

I'm considering it at this point. Karazhan only made the meta worse in my opinion (Discolock, Barnes RNG, made shamans even stronger, Priest got better but only because of RNG swing cards).

I did recently make a return to Wild though. It was a breath of fresh air for awhile, I would recommend trying it. Even if you're facing an aggro deck, it's still a different kind of aggro deck that you're used to facing in Standard.

Also, when Naxx and GvG rotated out the level of innovation of creativity that was put into decks was amazing. That was the best month of Hearthstone I've ever played, so I definitely want to be here when BRM, TGT, and LOE rotate out.

posted a message on is it just me, or the competition in Standard much fiercer than Wild?

I always found this to be a problem before I had a decent collection. It's hard to get off the ground in Hearthstone and have fun doing it. If you enjoy Wild and need help getting some gold for a decent collection, play some paladin with Shielded Minibot, Haunted Creeper, Muster for Battle, Piloted Shredder, Sludge Belcher, Avenge, and Steward of Darkshire. You're bound to get a few ranks just from the power of these cards alone.

But yeah, jank decks with basic cards don't get you far at all anymore in standard. Maybe rank 16 if you're lucky.

posted a message on How to play Face Shaman properly
    Quote from Morkimus >>

Wow... someone nice exists on these forums. Shocking!

Then again, this is face Shaman we are talking about, so I guess the posters above did have their reasons to be judgemental

I'm not a fan of face shaman either, but you can't hate people just for playing it. Don't blame the player, blame the Blizzard devs.

posted a message on Looking For Cheap Standard Deck

Like another poster, I would also suggest not dusting cards too hastily. I understand that the beginning of the game can be really slow, but if you work through it you'll be able to enjoy all the cards later.

I'm sure you could make a good hunter pretty cheap. A lot of their power comes from the classic set in the form of commons and rares. You can use Kindly Grandmotherand Cloaked Huntress too.

posted a message on How to play Face Shaman properly

Why assume he's a troll just because his English isn't the best? He's asking very reasonable questions about how to play face shaman... Just because it's a face deck doesn't mean it's completely braindead to play. Unfortunately I don't play aggro shaman myself, so I can't really help too much. Basically:

    • Take trades only when they are very favorable, or you are trying to play around AOE (for example, killing an Azure Drake to dodge a spell powered Swipe). Trading weak minions to protect big ones is always advised too, unless you threaten burst lethal.
    • If you have nothing else to do in the late game and your hand is full of burst, blast it at your opponents face and try to set up lethal in the next few turns. Better to just totem if you can't set up lethal any time soon though.
    • Always use spells to kill minions instead of your minions. Minion on board > spell in hand. Most of the time.
    • Like with all shaman decks, manage your overload well.

If you're not a troll, hope this helps. If you are...well here ya go anyway.

posted a message on Concerns About the Future of Wild
    Quote from ImLikeWhoaaa >>

I really dont recognize the lack of diversity youre facing..here are my distributions from wild ranks this month..currently rank 6 and missing about 10 games i played from tablet

This is still foreign diversity to me.  After a few more days of playing since I originally posted, I still almost never see priests, druids, warriors, warlocks, or rogues. Lately even shaman and mage has been a rarer sights. The majority of my games are against paladins and hunters. I guess I'm just getting unlucky as far as diversity is concerned. I've gone from rank 12 to rank 7 in the past two days, and it hasn't changed much.

no one cares about wild balance

I do. That's why I made a thread to discuss it.....and quite a few people replied, which leads me to assume that at least some of them are concerned too...... thanks for your input though.

posted a message on Time to craft a dragon

    Hey guys,

Looking to craft a dragon in the near future. I like playing control/midrange-oriented dragon decks but have always been missing the big dragons to finish off the curve. I've always just used Chromaggus or Nefarian, but those aren't quite as good as some others.

What should I craft? Alexstrasza, Malygos, Deathwing, or Ysera? I enjoy playing druid and renolock, so I'm kinda leaning towards Alex or Malygos.

posted a message on Welcome Bundle - disenchant?

Every time I disenchant a legendary I feel bad. The only ones that I've felt no remorse on was The Mistcaller, Lorewalker Cho, and The Beast. I got Illidan Stormrage out of one of my welcome packs and am worried to disenchant him because he might be good one day.

And you said that you don't have the cards for an expensive Jaraxxus deck. Well you certainly never will if you disenchant Jaraxxus!

That is ridiculously unlucky, but you are playing mill druid so I can't feel too bad for you :P

posted a message on The Pepper Thread - Share your good vibes!

Been playing Renolock lately. My board was empty and was up against a Shaman with a massive board and a freshly equipped Doomhammer. I was at 1 HP when he passed to me. He dropped a "Greetings, friend". Reno Jackson + Acidic Swamp Ooze + Shadowflame (thanks to an Emperor discount). "I greet you". "You win this one, friend".

    Ooooohhhhhhh it felt so good.

posted a message on Playing Wild With Standard Cards: Possible?

If you're low on dust, definitely pick up the good wild commons. Mad Scientist, Flamecannon, Piloted Shredder, Haunted Creeper, Webspinner, Death's Bite, Antique Healbot, Shielded Minibot, Darkbomb, and Glaivezooka are a few that come to mind.

posted a message on Is Shaman Hero Power good compared to other hero powers?

I've been screwed too many times by taunt, spell power, and healing totems to say it's a bad hero power. It's definitely too random to be reliable though. If it was always the Justicar version it would be busted.
