Also, forgive me if I'm wrong but it seems that you have personal hostility against Tze. it appears that you are discrediting Tze by asserting that he is a "fanboy".
It seems you can't even be bothered to reply anymore.
In a discussion...thats kinda low don't you think? Not civil minded at all. I don't see traces of tolerance from you.
I feel that this thread has gotten a bit out of hand. Maybe its just me but I feel that the arguments made here would had flowed/been communiciated a lot better if they were compiled and rewritten as an essay. Theres just too much backtracking, too many points that are repeatedly justified. It doesn't really work in this back and forth format, at least that is what I think.
Hoogout makes some pretty good points on asymetry and game devs striving for that ideal 100% class viability no matter how difficult it is to achieve. I'm tempted to agree with him.
However, I feel that Hoogout is missing on a core aspect and that is Hearthstone is a card game after all. People play card games because a part of them want to experience the thrill of topdecking, the thrill of beating unfair opponents. Boil card games down to one word and it would be: "luck". Remove that, and we will just get a strategy game.
Its impossie for it to matter.
If we play by chess-like rules, the appeal of hearthstone being a card game would be lost. The community wants to improve and critique hearthstone the card game, not hearthstone the game.
How will luck still play a factor if we reach the "ideal world"? That is not to say that we should be complacent about hearthstone as a whole. Fundamentally, it still suffers from basic problems.
Instead, we should try to compromise and strive towards a world where all playstyles can be made. A world where everyone can have fun.
Someone mentioned this a few pages ago and I don't think you have responded to it.
Maybe its because I haven't been topdecking Jades but winrate against taunt warrior is still the game. Somehow, my small minions keep perishing at the hands of whirlwind effects and double primoridial drake, Last warrior I was about to win against topdecked brawl. Never lucky.
Taunt warrior is the deck I have trouble beating. I must have ran into it at least ten times, but I think I only won three of them. Am using Kolento's elemental deck at the moment. It seems that whatever I do, taunt warrior always destroys me.
My board is consistently destroyed every 3 turns. Have a big minion? Shield slam. Out of removal? Clear my small minions with AOE and then hero power it down. It seems that no matter what I do, taunt warrior always out values me. My early game is destroyed by fiery war axe.
Even when I have the board, warrior keeps stalling with taunts (stonehill defender) until he draws an answer.
I couldn't even run Black Knight even if I wanted to. Black Knight is too much of a liability against the rest of the meta..
I just want to know, are you elemental shamans facing the same problem against taunt warrior?
Was playing against the same fel reaver druid twice. Lost to him twice because instead of punishing him with aldor, fel reaver actually helped thined out his deck to allow him to draw FON savage roar. (second time too)
We all know the existence of secret paladin for a month or so now and its been recognized widely as a tier 1 to 2 deck.
Its pushes hard, punishes for secrets misplay etc etc.
But personally, I feel that midrange secret paladin, with perfect tempo punishes a deck more than aggro secret paladin. It is able to build its own board up, rather equal to aggro secret paladin and is able to punish silences and removals with big minions such as dr boom and triton,
The question is: How hard is it to deal with midrange secret paladin with perfect tempo?
Is is manageable with your own "perfect tempo" and avoiding misplays or it is near insane levels of defeating even with that? I would like to hear your thoughts about the subject matter if you may.
P.S. talk about classes in general, not just a specific archtype like dragon priest or control warrior that have a decent winrate against secret paladin.
Damn it blizzard, I actually like the art on this one. Can't justify not playing it now. Cards like ancestral healing may just make the cut due to the existence of a legit card draw mechanic in shaman. Am definitely testing this card out when expansion hits.
First three turns he didn't play anything. And then came the twilight drake and turn five giant. My friend who was spectating was like "WTF", but regardless I still managed to somehow survive.
Our board traded with each other pretty well and then in the later turns, I made a mistake. I originally intended to power of the wild panther and druid of the fang. Instead, I accidentally gave my only minion in my board the buff and played the un-transformed druid of fang, Somehow still managed to keep trading though despite the blatant misplay.
Majordomo was the only card in my hand and I played it. The nine attack managed to wear my opponent down pretty hard and by the time I transformed into ragnaros, he had seven hp left. Seems like Im winning right?
Turn ten he Lord jaraxus and hits face. I healed with healing touch and played unstable ghoul. Hero powered him to seven again. Guess what? Lord jaraxus again and he kills the ghoul and hits face. At this point in the game I pretty much guessed that his whole deck was handlock based and it would be pretty unfair if he had gotten the right draws, which fortunately for me he didn't. I heroed powered and hit face for eight and played archmage. He then suicided himself into archmage and conceded.
Was a tough game overall with a lot of "Oh no" situations, but I won nonetheless. Majordomo was actually MVP here, It provided the hero power win condition. Guess that even the worse cards have their days huh?

Rogues and Priests keep stealing class cards to beat me.
Immediately conceded when Caverns Rogue played Spirit Echo.
Also, I just disconnected.

urrgghhh
trying to rank up here while I see people misplay and I can't even punish.
Meanwhile I make a slight misplay and everyone hops on the punish train.

Grats rng, grats.

Faced nerfed patron warrior at rank five with midrange pally.
Thought it would be an easy game.
I was wrong. He filled up his whole board with patrons (with whirlwinds etc etc) and I had no removal.
The rng is stronk here.

Hunter won the game through absurd amounts of rng.
Muster for battle gets dealt with rng topdeck UTH
Murloc knight dies due to rng huffer
After stabilizing the board, hunter wins due to heropower, kill command and topdeck flare into quickshot. (All the cards in his hand)
-_- Its like 30-40% of my games against hunter they win due to topdeck.
Wish I got that lucky as hunter. Wish I could.

muster for gornok?
Idk really. Aggro palladin could make this work with their haunted creepers, musters and all.......
