Beatsz posted a message on New Priest/Warlock Legendary Card Revealed - Disciplinarian GandlingPosted in: NewsI strongly doubt this will see more playtime and success in Priest rather than Warlock. This is obviously a card for a "zoo" style deck. You don't want to play this in a deck with a heavy curve, since this will downgrade every minion bigger than a 4/4, and even upgrading random 3/3s into 4/4s isn't worth much. This is only worth anything if you're playing a deck that can play many, many very small minions. Priest has some zoo cards, but they're generally weaker than in Warlock, there's fewer of them, and Priest doesn't have the "at-will card draw" of Warlock which lets Zoo keep up the pressure much, much longer than other classes with a very low curve.
More small minions = more Disciplinarian Gandling value. That's why this fits into Zoolock better IMO. -

Arachnidius posted a message on New Mage Legendary Card Revealed - ChenvaalaPosted in: NewsYou’re thinking of Dragon Soul.
It’s very hard to say. No one can say with certainty how good it is until we can test it against everything else in the meta (obviously).
Dragon Soul was virtually unplayable, but that was a weapon (not a minion) in a very different meta with completely different cards to support it and in a different class, so it would be foolish to assume this card will be bad just because Dragon Soul didn’t work.
Whether or not this card will be deemed as good relies entirely on how good cyclone mage and/or other “small spell” mage decks turn out to be (imo). I’m not sure but if in the new expansion cyclone mage would not be good enough without this card, I don’t think this card will be enough to single-handedly make cyclone mage viable. However if cyclone mage would be pretty good regardless of this card, then I think this card would be a very strong addition to it.

scout1515 posted a message on Patches the Pirate - Will blizzard ever kill this card?Posted in: Card DiscussionI don't know about you, but it's been 6 months already of having the worst designed card in history of any card game. Tired of seeing it, tired of being forced to play this piece of shit in almost every deck. (And playing it is NOT optional in many decks. If you don't include it then your deck will suck).
They nerfed a card that wasn't a problem to avoid killing this card, why? I don't get it. Why not just kill this cancer card and be done with it?

sxavalentine posted a message on Improvements for ladderPosted in: General DiscussionMuch better than this would be the introduction of a side deck. To keep it simple, a certain number of cards in your main deck (3 or 5) would be put in a separate section. Then you pick a class, and pick x cards (same number of the cards in the different section) as replacements. When you are paired against that class you picked, your deck will be running the side cards instead of the cards you put in your separate section. It would be a big improvement

Reddes125 posted a message on The Designing a New Reno Card for Standard Card Design CompetitionConsidered a couple other iterations like bringing the numbers down to have it provide an earlier impact with slightly lesser stats to combat the current extreme aggro that we experience. I decided against this because the value this provides for the deck building trade off I feel is truly justified and could allow some paving for Taunt warrior in future. This should be a deck defining card in that regard and its mana cost and relative and potential power secures that.

Vallen128 posted a message on The Designing a New Reno Card for Standard Card Design CompetitionEdit: Figured I should explain a couple things about this card's ability.
First, When the hero's health is set to 45, that does not affect their maximum health. It's like a 15 health buffer on top the 30 health. 45/30. Health cannot be healed while above 30, only below.
(If the effect were to change the hero's maximum health, then I would change it to a total of 40, not 45, and probably raise the mana cost by 1.)
Second, this effect tells your opponent "hi, I'm playing control!" It also forces you to indeed only have 1 of each card, no double Shadowforms, so there are some drawbacks to using this card.

I have replaced Dun Baldar Bridge for 1x Brasswing and 1x Protect the Innocent and it isnt a bad deck (6-3 in D5, is good against aggro due to lot of healing, secrets and minion generators)

IMO there are 2 main problems in the most common decks on the first days:
- Mana discount/cheating: Some of the most problematics decks (mages with Incanter's Flow / [card] refreshing spring water[/card] , rogues with Efficient Octo-bot or Preparation and lock with the new weapon/stealer of souls.
- Little interaction with minions, the meta is too combo oriented. Besides of spell mage, quest lock and garrote rogue, there are other combo decks like diferent variations DH, corrupt shaman (this is more inconsistent). Face hunter, agro shaman and quest druid aren't combo decks but they don't interact very often with minions.

Yesterday, I faced the same situation with a warrior using hero power and roping

IMO druid is easier to counter than paladin
If you can counter Guardian Animals turns your odds of victory increase a lot. Hunter traps, saps, big removals (warrior or priest have some of them) or early threats can counter those turns.
Paladin is more consistent but have little draw.
There is a card that colud be used to counter both decks: Bad Luck Albatross.

IMO the perfect games are in the middle (more or less 10 minutes). You could interact with your opponent but at the same time you can play more games vs different matchups.

I'm glad to see that people like the deck :)

OP said that rogue is his favourite class and he is playing highlander. In highlander is still a very good card. The card is not played for its stats but for its effect. That's why IMO he shouldn't DE hanar
3
I am playing highlander rogue too and hanar is still powerful. It's worse if you play it on curve, but in mid-late game could give you powerful secrets that can mess the opponent plan. And you can adapt the secrets you choose to your opponent class. In adition to this, there are almost 2 years until this card rotattes, so If you like rogue I won't disenchant that card.
I have more doubts about removing stunner from the deck, because sometimes I need a sap and I miss the secret or the stunner.
2
well, it depends on the deck you are using. But IMO some past metas were worst in that aspect.

I have fun playing this version of highlander rogue, each game is different and you have options against everything (the hardest mathups are quest malygos lock and spell druid)
It's not cheap but i hit legend for first time with it. I have made a guide if you want more info.
