posted a message on Year of the Mammoth: Crafting for Dust

If I have done my homework properly, we can craft gold versions of the cards which will be cycled out into the Hall of Fame. The cost seems to be:

    Ragnaros

    3200

    Sylvanis

    3200

    Azure Drake

     800*2

    Conceal

    400*2

    Power Overwhelming

    400*2

    Ice Lance

    400*2

     This is 10,400 dust.

The disenchant value is 1600*2+100*2+50*2*3 = 3700 dust.

So if I make those cards, I would get refunded in the YofM 10400 dust and I could further dust the golden cards for 3700 gain (enough to make a couple legendaries at least)

Does all this math work out? I have 9915 dust and can get the 100 more I would need (I have a golden ice Lance so 10,000 is my personal bill)

    Thanks!

Could you use Curse of Rafaam? I haven't had the opportunity to play yet. I know that it has the potential to be lethal against Ice Block.

Since getting the abusive sergeant nerf, can we please update this deck? I'd love to see someone come up with what from Karazhan could be added or what to replace AS with. Even if it's fan input and not OP.

I have been using this deck verbatim for a long time now. Do you have an update with the Karazhan expansion, or do you think it wouldn't benefit from any of the cards? My Steward is a lightning rod so I am not sure Moroes would work. Silvermoon Portal may take a spot over a Blessing of Kings (It keeps from putting all your eggs in one basket). I'm not sure any other cards would be useful here. Do you think the deck works as it is, without the addition of Karazhan, and with the current meta?

This is an amazing deck for only 1 epic, it took me to rank 9 with only a few games. I think I'll be playing this till the meta changes enough. Thanks so much!

Is there any merit in Noble Sacrifice? Wouldn't it be invaluable at protecting Steward?

posted a message on Help Me Make It In Hearthstone (Advice Appreciated!)

    Hello,

I am having trouble deciding how to proceed in Hearthstone.

    My Collection from Innkeeper

I joined after TGT and bought LoE as it came out, then picked up Naxx and BRM. After the announce of WotOG and standard vs wild I saved 5k gold, figuring buying cards when they were new would be the best way to keep them as long as possible, and to beat most f2p who buy day-to-day.

I bought 51 packs + 13 from quests, this netted me 2 leg (rogue and mage)

To date I have 3 legendaries, Gahzrilla (GvG) and two classics, Velen and Deathwing.

I don't have much of the standard wild stuff, so I think going Standard benefits my play style more.

I know Arena is somewhat farmable but I have a family, so when your kid falls down and cries, is it worth it to give up that third arena game or to check if your kid is okay? These are the positions I'd rather not be in, so for now I am just going to avoid Arena.

That being said, I feel very limited as a f2p... no matter how much I play, I won't acquire packs quickly and I won't be able to keep up with the top decks (not that I want to be top-top, but I've never broken rank 13 and usually am 15), there will always be cards I need, etc.

So my thought was that if I can't build any deck, I could probably at least have most of a particular classes cards. At the least, Blizzard is going to try to make each class viable, and so focusing on one now shouldn't become a big issue later on.

I have about 800 banked dust and 900 more ready to be dusted from the expansion cards. I also have 5400 dust from Wilds. That's 4 legendaries.

Obviously Priest, Mage, and Rogue are the cheaper options. I like them, in that order, but my highest hero is a Paladin at 59, but he has no legendaries. He does have a Mysterious Challenger, Lay on Hands and a Avenging Wrath. I think if I was going to choose a class, that would be it. I realize it's expensive, since Paladin uses a fair bit of cards OUTSIDE of the Paladin class cards (compared to some). I'm open to discussions though, if people think I should choose differently.

So what to build, what to keep? I still need to quest, C'Thun is a good universal way to win games occasionally, and will be around for awhile (kind of like a dragon deck) I may consider the legendary C'Thun neutral, to help those decks and potentially use in my Paladin (If a build allows for one) I got all the commons I need, most rares, some epics from my WoTOG binge buy.

I do plan on saving all gold for the next expansion, so what I have is what I'll have, except for Tavern Brawl and Watch and Learn, which should be about 20 packs per expansion, which is close to a legendary (on average) from Classic.

That being said, the Classic is around indefinitely but subject to power creep. I suspect most of the legendaries there are of no use now (at least with the current cards) and even fewer helpful to Paladins, especially as bigger cards come along. Are there any you guys would consider getting? I think Tirion is a good choice, especially with the Divine Shield stuff that came out recently.

I don't think I would get anything in the TGT set, just because if I'm going to invest, might as well get the most miles out of it.

I likely would leave some crafting room open (about half of my stash) for meta changes between now and next expansion, to fill out some of my common - epic gaps and maybe a leg or two, if it makes a big difference.

I would also consider dusting some classics that are hopeless (minions with stats, no skills, no 'type' [mech, beast, etc.]) but I would like to keep my cards that are useful in other classes, for finishing off quests.

Does this seem like a good plan? Can you recommend anything I should do differently? Which cards would you get right now?

Like I said, my goal is to have around 100% Paladin coverage and the relevant neutral cards within a few expansions.

Thanks for any advice you could give me!

I'll give that a shot. I accidentally had some mirror images in there and they helped with my wyrm early but I think that was just luck.

    Thanks for the guide!

I am missing a Snowchugger, Blastmage and Spider Tank. I have substituted:

    Pyroblast

    Gorillabot A-3

    Clockwork Giant

Could you make any other recommendations? I have Arcane Blast, most common mechs, Arcane Nullifier, etc.

    Thanks!
