Both odd warrior and dead man's hand warrior are viable control decks in wild. If you want to play control these days wild is probably the best place to be. I believe someone even took dead man's hand warrior to rank 1 legend last season. Silas otk odd warrior is also a legend capable deck; does well against agro while having a win condition against slower decks. Also I wouldn't read too much into hsreplay statistics. The issue with them is that they include the results of everyone who plays a given deck/calss with the tracker on, which can be a very different set of people than everyone who plays it well. Basically if you have enough people playing a deck but poorly the stats will not reflect the decks true capabilities, and instead show a lower win rate than would be achieved by a good player. Usually it takes a bit longer for control decks to settle in a new expansion, and then a little while longer for people to figure out how to play them well. The ETC otk combo warrior in standard currently looks like it has potential and has above 50% win rate on HS replay, meaning a good player might be able to do quite well with it (I believe the version in the article on the hearthpwn front page was taken to rank 1 legend).
I am receiving 0 XP with classes at level 60 from playing games. Games of similar length with one of my two classes not at level 60 did result in a gain in XP.
When playing ranked games with several classes which are at level 60 I noticed i wasn't getting any xp. I then switched to a class that was not at level 60 and found that I did get xp for playing in ranked mode. Anyone else having this issue? It can't possibly be intended. I was still able to get quest progress with classes at level 60, just no xp for actually playing games.
I've noticed recently that sometimes when I concede I do not get quest progress from the game (i.e play a game with a certain class, play deathrattle minions, etc). In these cases I am conceding in losing positions (opponent presenting lethal), and not getting any daily quest progress. Is this a new thing? Do you have to be below a certain HP for quest progress to count when conceding?
I have been having surprising success with echo giants mage in wild so far this season. Here is my list for those that are curious. It has been doing well against reno priest and agro decks.
For context I was starting with a 9 star bonus this season so I am playing against meta decks. Will add a win rate when I have a better sample size of games played.
Done* other player was in busy mode so I was unable to challenge, still able to return the favor (have screenshots if mods need them/tried to walk them through changing from busy, challenge button was not showing up)
I left a run unfinished and as of now the run did not retire even though the expansion is out. Anyone else in the same situation? Is this intended or a bug/server issue?
Some follow up: looking at the graph of win rate on HS replay the deck was over 50% win rate until early august when the win rate completely tanked. You can see a win rate of 60.6% on July 29th and 8.33% on August 5th. Someone either got unlucky or played really bad, dragging down the overall win rate of the deck on HS replay. You can the win rate was consistently over 50% all the way through July. The 65% win rate is my own personal win rate with the deck. Somewhere in early august someone went on a losing streak with the deck causing the winrate on HS replay to tank. You should also note HS replay has the warning that the deck has a low sample size on the site. Up until around then the deck was doing just fine win rate wise. Ultimately there's a new expansion out today so it really doesn't matter as all of this data becomes irrelevant in the face of new cards and a new meta.
My stats are from my own games also collected with HSTracker (and uploaded to HSReplay). Either I'm just high rolling or you're playing bad. What's your sample size/how many games did you play?
Skulking geist definitely isn't needed, saw all of 2 Jade druids and was able to defeat them both before they could do anything by just going face. Same strategy works against combo decks, build a board, pressure life total, zephrys for bloodlust/savage roar (and deathlord serves as a potential combo disruptor as well). Ultimately I didn't run into enough combo decks to justify giving rat the card slot, especially since I wasn't losing that frequently against those that I saw.
You will get a random classic legendary for the first time reaching legend in the new system even if you had reached legend at some point under the old ranked system.
looking at your collection it looks like you are missing a few of the cards, which might be making the deck worse. What substitutions are you using? That can make a big difference.
Yeah, I had benedictus in an earlier version but there weren't enough control matchups and it messed up the no duplicate cards. Statue is definitely one of the first cards I would cut from the list as well, though probably for another early game deathrattle minion/taunt or board clear.
Not sure what to tell you. Played it all season and didn't have trouble with agro other than pirate warrior, and did fine against combo other than mechathun warlock. Maybe I just got very lucky all season or maybe you're not playing it right. Small decisions with this deck make a big difference on whether you win or lose. Typical strategy is keep the quest and hard mulligan for your 2 drops (you might occasionally keep other cards depending on the math but this is a typical mulligan), and then duplicate amara using seance or zola. In some matchups you may duplicate zephrys, kazakus, or even sylvanas instead but typically it's amara (or reno). Against some combo decks you are the aggressor and need to be mainly going face: duplicating kazakus for 8 damage potions or zephrys for damage/burst in these matches is important. If you wanted to improve it against agro I'd probably ditch statue, sylvannas and umbra for more early game taunt deathrattles and maybe another board clear or ooze or something.

Glad you liked it. Had been thinking of cutting statue for something else myself. May give bone wraith a try.
