posted a message on Any good homebrew decks?

I am currently playing a rogue homebrew deck with “mediocre” performance (hovering around platinum 1) but i am wondering if anyone wants to share some decent or at least semi-successful original deck recipes.    The decks don’t need to have insane winrates as long as they are interesting or if anyone is looking for constructive criticism for their own builds.

This is my list which is a lot of fun to pilot but just cannot outperform the top decks of this meta in my experience. Hunter and DH are abysmal match-ups along with armor warrior which is a hard counter but every other class is somewhere in the realm of manageable.

posted a message on Legend has become to easy to hit

This thread doesn’t make sense to me as the deckbuilding aspect of this game puts you in control of difficulty and challenge level. If you’re flying through ranks too fast with face hunter or shaman then just swap your deck out to something that’s harder to pilot or has a lower winrate. You might lose more often by giving yourself a handicap but at least you won’t feel a lack of achievement by hitting legend immediately with a tier one deck.

People want to call this meta “fair” but i wouldn’t consider more than one class having insane power level cards as real balance. I personally have a huge problem with cards like Illidari Inquisitor and Trampling Rhino which are just big charge minions with extra steps. I mean are the devs against the concept of minions attacking directly to the face the turn they’re played or not? If not, then they need to add better neutral taunt minions for classes than don’t have massive healing or armor. Games against certain classes shouldn’t be a ticking time bomb that squashes you with a single card on turn 5 or 6 imo.

posted a message on Is Elemental shaman finally ,one of the best decks ever?

When the buffs first hit i genuinely thought shaman was insane but with the way Hunter is along with DH and Warrior it’s balanced in comparison.

posted a message on Elemental shaman,or Deathrattle DH craft advice

you should be able to hit at least diamond 5 or something with elemental shaman with just the Lilypad Lurkers. At that point you could decide if you wanna commit to Fireheart and go for legend. If you’re already at a high rank or Legend i would still refrain from crafting dearhrattle DH legendaries as they are kind of useless outside of the archetype. It’s hard to find any other use for cards like Al’ar in any other deck.

posted a message on Archdruid Naralex Glitch??

So i was just in a match where my opponent summoned Naralex and triggered my Mirror Entity, giving me my own copy of the minion. However, I noticed that when they ended their turn they actually received two dream cards, one for their Naralex and another for mine. Additionally, when I ended my turn my Naralex ended up putting another Dream card in their hand while I got none. Has anyone experienced something like this? Unfortunately i did not get a screen recording of it but I’m trying to see if there are other examples of this glitch taking place.

posted a message on [Forged in the Barrens] Off-Meta Tournament

I think this is a great idea but at the same time banning specific cards would just lead to people running slightly less efficient versions of meta decks or use variants of decks that are still very much meta. I’m not sure if this is a bulletproof solution but I figure the contestants’ deck submissions should be reviewed by 3 or 5 designated members to decide if any deck qualifies as off meta. Maybe 5 is too many but as long as it was an odd number of reviewers it could be determined democratically. Maybe certain people will be upset if their entries are rejected but as long as the tournament is just for fun i would hope that people could keep a level head about it.

posted a message on What everyone's opinion about the Meta after the buffs and nerfs?

To be honest with you although Paladin is allegedly still on top I think it’s a net positive if every class has at least one playable archetype except for Shaman. I expect the mini-set to change that and probably trigger a whole new set of balance issues. We may never get to the point where every class is viable but this is the closest the game has been to that sort of equilibrium in a while.

posted a message on Honestly I don't understand why people play this game anymore.

I actually tried to take this post’s idea to heart and resisted from netdecking a Miracle Rogue deck and tried to build my own without reference. I ended up just making a less successful version of the builds you see here that are the same idea but more efficient. At the end of the day i dont mind taking a deck recipe but i try to seek out archetypes that arent what i’m already seeing every game on ladder. Right now i am mostly playing a priest variant that generates a lot of Carnival Clowns to actually beat Warlock reliably and I love it. I guess I could spend time fine tuning my rogue deck independently but i’m taking too many losses in the process.

posted a message on Less nerfing, more learning people.

I thought about this concept as I was losing the vast majority of my games yesterday afternoon while using an alleged “high legend” control priest deck. Since this exact deck was being used by another player in the top ranks of standard, it had to be my fault i was losing by piloting it incorrectly. However, whenever I played against a Warlock i felt it was legitimately a hopeless cause as Tickatus would mill me into fatigue and 6/6 Infernals were being pumped out every turn. Even now it amazes me how someone could win in those match-ups even 40% to 50% of the time. So although i despise Tickatus as a card I know other people out there are actually seeing success with the deck I’m using, which makes me want to learn what their secret is more than wanting to kill the card outright.

why don’t people just play Tickatus without corrupting it then? That way it takes five cards out of your own deck which is a huge bonus and makes your deck so much better.  You could even mill your own Y’Shaarj or Jaraxxus and win the game on the spot

Some buffs for priest across the board:

    - Dark Inquisitor Xanesh to reduce the cost of all corrupt and already corrupted cards in your hand/deck. I honestly think it should be a 4 mana card but i figure the boost to the discount effect may be enough to make it more viable.

    - Disciplinarian Gandling to 3 mana 3/5 or 4 mana 3/7 for earlier combos or more survivability.

    - Shadowed Spirt to Deathrattle: deal 4 damage to the enemy hero instead of 3 damage.

    - Lightsteed to 3 mana 3/4 or 3 mana 2/5 instead of 4 mana 3/6.

    - Power infusion to 3 mana +2/+5 instead of 4 mana +2/+6

    - Soothsayer’s Caravan to 2 mana 1/4 instead of 2 mana 1/3.

    - Void Flayer to 3 mana instead of 4 mana.

    - Dragonmaw Overseer to 3 mana 3/3 instead of 3 mana 2/2.

posted a message on Should I give up and just play Warlock?

I am missing Illucia but honestly the name "Golden Shower Priest" is cracking me up so i'm going for it.  after reading this thread it seems like both priest and warlock have some truly awful matchups but we'll see where this goes

posted a message on Should I give up and just play Warlock?

I have been trying to find any alternative control option during this expansion that isn’t Warlock as I dont have cards like Tickatus, Tamsin Roame, or Malicia, but it honestly seems like Control warrior or priest are completely hopeless in this meta. I have been staying away from the idea of Warlock as i would need to craft multiple legendaries, but cards like Cascading Disaster and Tamsin just seem amazing and i’m sick of having my board cleared like theres no tomorrow....and getting my deck burned on the same turn. Should i bite the bullet on this class or do you guys think there’s any hope for other control archetypes?
