The only reason I'm considering Serpent Ward is for synergy with Things from Below and Draenei Totemcarver. The latter tho can just be replaced with Dr.4

If the replacement doesn't do at least some of what Flametongue does, then you're stuck with a bunch of 0 att minions cluttering the board. There's no point in bothering with Genn at all in that case.

I'm gonna play as much Even Shaman as I can before the nerf hits. I'm gonna miss that card...

But I also looked at potential replacement 2-drops. Nothing as good as Flametongue of course, not even sure anything can make the deck survive at all, but could be worth trying:

Knife Juggler

Lance Carrier

Master Swordsmith

Serpent Ward

Defender of Argus

Come to think of it as I'm going through my collection, it might be fun to try converting Even Shaman into a Deathrattle deck. Lots of sticky 2 and 4-drops combined with Ancestral Spirit, Big Bad Voodoo or Reincarnate.

I'd like input from any Even Shaman fans... and if you hate that deck, plz don't bother trolling.

I've found that Fool's Bane is a decent replacement for Brawl.

I think Blizzard realized that the average power level in year of the mammoth was higher than they wanted. So they might be consciously bringing it down this year. This concern may be why the preorder offer 70 cards this time rather than 50.

Nevertheless, I won't preorder at least until I see most of the set revealed.

I would have expected the next xp to have been announced by now, given Blizzard's timetables for the prev 2-3 XPs...

April, August and December of 2017, the xps all came live 1st or 2nd week of the month, so that release coincides more or less with the start of a new season. Prior to those dates, they took 2 weeks for ongoing card reveals... and prior to that, took a 2 week hiatus right after the announcement for the new Xp. So at most, 4.5 weeks between the announcement and Xp going live.

So we're now the 8th of March, week's almost over, no announcement in sight. If they do announce it, say early next week, if Blizz sticks with the same kind of timetable as in 2017, we're still looking at a pretty late release in April.

...Unless of course they just rush the hype period and don't take the usual break between announcement and card reveals :)

With him needing warm clothing and the smoke in the distance, plus the green portal with branches they've already teased for the Year of the Raven's 1st xp, I'm guessing it's going to be related to Mount Hyjal (was it not a volcano in WoW?)

I'm not ever loosing sleep over dusting Millhouse twice.

I'd love to see them experiment with this in a Tavern Brawl, where all native Taunt minions are banned.

Some jurisdictions won't allow this kind of raffle by a foreign company.

For example, although Canada is eligible, I'll guarantee you that Blizz isn't officially permitted to offer this to Quebec residents. All companies running contests/etc in other provinces face the same red tape (though being digital, it might not be enforceable).

I'm thinking the same thing... I was going to craft the Skull, but if Doomguard goes it won't have as much value. I'm waiting to see what goes on the HoF list before crafting anything.

Spreading Plague and Bonemare are also useful Cards (and Corridor Creeper or Arcane Tyrant but these are epics).

On a side account, I get easy to 15 with such a deck (in the second half of the month at least).

Edit: as to buying packs, do get also packs from mean streets of Gadgetzan and whispers of the old gods until you get the legendary. It is worth your Gold, even if you get the leg in the 10th pack (either because it is a good legendary or because you got 400 dust from it).
