Here are some facts about this Seasonal Championship's players. Maybe this can help you decide on who to vote for.

NA:

-Justsaiyan: #1 point leader in NA, just went on a winning streak of 32 competitive rounds. Insane momentum. Has been playing competitively since 2015. Has the most all-time Dreamhack wins. Member of the USA HGG team. His streams (watchstone) were my favorites.

-Bloodyface: An OG in HS. Have been playing since the beginning, recently decided to quit his job to pursue his career in competitve Hearthstone.

-Lnguagehackr: One of my favorite players. Great at piloting control and combo decks. Very consistent Dreamhack finishes. Went 10-0 in DH Austin before losing to Amnesiac.

-Tincho: A bit less known. The only player from the Latin America community this time.

EU:

-Sintolol: Top8 in last year's World Championships. #1 point earner in EU in 2017. Super emotional during matches. Watching him play is a pleasure :)

-RENMEN: Very consistent ladder finishes, even though he does not have many tournament results.

-Moyen: Even though he might be considered new to the scene, his practice groupe is quite insane, with players like Viper, Sintolol and Bunnyhoppor.

-Hatul: Qualified as a Tavern Hero. Has quite a unique personality. Member of the Israel HGG team.

APAC:

-Tyler: "Just a grinder". Very consistent ladder finishes for almost 2 years already. Was competing in EU before he moved to Vietnam.

-DacRyvius: #1 point earner in APAC currently. Do not underestimate this guy. Really good deck builder. Came second in HCT Bangkok.

-Bloodtrail: Back to back championships. Last time he was on stage he was obviously stressed out and misplayed quite horribly. I think this time he will do way better. Don't forget that even players like Pavel have blundered really hard on stage before.

-Akumaker (Jowen): It's been a long time since we have seen an ANZ representative in the global stage: Aku is probably the best of them. He was in the top8 of the 2016 APAC summer championships and has multiple tour stop finishes this year.

CHINA:

-Trunks: This is his third appearance in an HCT seasonal championship. He is the only father in this tournament. Very consistent player from China. Loves control decks.

-Islandcat: Quite a popular streamer and caster in China. Not much tournament results tho. He does hang out with Fr0zen quite often, so he might have a really solid lineup.

-Caimiao: Member of the team IceCola, which is the best team in China, having members like XiaoT, Rugal and yrshar.

-LionKing: He has been playing competitive HS in China for quite a while: finally got the chance to qualify for a seasonal Champs.

I just don't understand.  Why can't Priest get solid cards that don't require combos?  Test Subject is utter trash.  Extra Arms is utter trash.  We get Reckless Experimenter, which is awesome...and then no cards that synergize with it.  We get NO board clears.  We get NO card draw.  We get NO mechs in a MECH-themed expansion.  We get the worst legendary spell and the worst legendary minion.  

Meanwhile, Druid's "worst card" is a 6-mana Cenarius.

They can make more great cards to prevent slow decks from being killed.

Doing that would be the best way to kill the game fast as majority of people don't enjoy playing 30 minutes games as much as the people complaining about there not being enough slow viable decks.

Also like mentioned before, the skill requirement is tiny for fast decks.  Control requires thought and again, it appears as most don’t want to involve thought and skill in the game.  And please spare me the downvotes by saying “aggro requires skill and good decision making”.  It doesn’t.  I play a few aggro decks when I have a quest with a class I’m not fond of. But midrange and control decks, and to some extent OTK decks, need to piloted well.

 

 Not everyone is looking for the same things in a game you know. 

Yeah, a lot of attempts were needed for me. Maybe watch some videos of people beating it?

Using your Knights properly is key, and the bishops as well. You also need to move pieces that aren't doing work to the left hand side so they get killed off by the hero power.

You do need a lot  of luck though.

tempo =/= midrange

This artificial distinction between tempo and midrange is just not working. Generally, there are aggro midrange and control decks. These terms refer to the turns when the deck is supposed to make their winning moves or pressure turns. Adding „tempo“ and „combo“ in the equation  just doesn’t make sense because they refer to different aspects of the game, namely the impact on the board of your plays and the game winning combination of cards. Every deck can be fitted into aggro midrange and control, although it might also be called tempo or combo. Like quest Mage is a combo deck, but wants to control and stall the board as long as possible. Same with togwaggle Druid. Controlling the board and then playing combo cards to take over the opponent’s deck. 

Putting on curve minions on the board is nothing else than playing a tempo game. Just because rogue has some high tempo cards doesn’t make it a different category. For instance,  tempo rogue also plays Keleseth which is not an instant tempo play, but sacrifices immediate tempo for a tempo boost and in the midgame. Tempo rogue fits your definition of a midrange deck. The win condition is to put pressure on the board in the midgame (turns 5/6/7). 

I know that many people call fast midrange decks and slower aggro decks „tempo“,  like In the earlier days, there was a slightly slower face hunter that was called „hybrid hunter“ since it played savannah highmane and shredder. But that doesn’t really help to classify the decks better. Just adds a category between aggro and midrange that has not necessarily much to do with its name and shifts the blurry line between the categories do different places. Like you admit yourself when you call tempo Mage more an aggro deck. Nonetheless it’s called „tempo Mage“ and means „slightly slower than other aggro decks“. 

So I don’t see a problem if someone says tempo decks are midrange decks. At least some of them obviously are, although I admit that others of them fit more an aggro category. 

If you equip it on turn 4 and the opponent destroys it immediately, you are playing against an idiot. If you have an ooze and the Druid has still not 10 mana, you should wait until the weapon has 1durability. Then he is ramping from 8 to 10 but cannot use the 10 extra mana additionally.

But ramping is not the goal of twig. It is ideally meant to give you a combo turn wit togwaggle or malygos. And most often you “just” get a high tempo turn by playing some cards, breaking the twig and playing more cards (in particular combined with ultimate infestation). So if your opponent destroys the twig on his turn and you already have 10 mana, you will not get the extra mana. 

Because high value cards or combos cannot be played in early turns, and doing something is always better than doing nothing.

That being said, this is a card game, not chess.

I think this is enough to have a decent set. I also hit rank 5 every month just for the golden epic reward which gives you extra 400 dust. Always refresh your quest if it a 50 gold quest and be nice to people in your friendlist, not everyone trades the 80 gold quest, a lot of guys in my friendlist play with me when they get the 80 gold quest.

 

Finally, regarding the money you are about to spend, if I were you, I would save it for the next expansion and constantly check amazon for 10000 coin cheapest deal personally, I buy when I get 24% discount.
