posted a message on recombobulator error?

so this is the second time this has happened to me; my Ironbark Protector was low so I recombobulated it and it came back as a 5/5 Ancient of War.  am i crazy or is there a mana difference here?  i didn't screen shot/record it because it didn't dawn on me until after this last match when i noticed the Ancient of Lore in my hand which costs the same as Ancient of War.

    anyone else had this happen?

posted a message on Advice on Improving?
    Quote from andrewisliving »

I feel like I'm hitting a pretty significant roadblock in getting better at Hearthstone. Wondering if you guys have any advice about how to improve for free or cheap. I've looked into some coaching options and am thinking about investing with a coach from IHearthU.

i think watching both good and bad people has helped me improve; thats why i started my youtube channel.  i post my videos hoping people will point out my mistakes so i improve and i watch a lot of games on youtube from lots of different people and politely critique/ask questions as to why they did what they did so i can learn to get better.  recording your matches, even if you don't post them, is a really good idea.  i can't count how many times i question why i made a play when i'm editing my videos.

the in-game observe feature will really help now too; i've been trying to add more friends so i can observe their matches and grow from it.

posted a message on Bad Mannered Players On The Rise
    Quote from kidanime »

With Hearthstone increasing popularity, toxic players have started to play the game.

While working my way through the lower ranks and early wins in arena, the amount of emote trolling, and general BM was like nothing before I have seen in Hearthstone.

Has BM suddenly become cool?  or is this the E-sport popularity effect?

don't feed the trolls.  if they spam emotes, squelch them.  if they friend request after spamming emotes, don't accept them.  it's quite simple: if you don't feed the trolls, they will have to find somewhere else to eat and you can go along your merry way.

posted a message on Should I craft Dr Boom?

If u are going to craft him i suggest crafting him in gold, nothing worse than crafting a legendary and getting him in a pack later on.

This is terrible advice that makes no logical sense at all. If you craft a legendary in gold, you are guaranteed to waste an extra 1600 mana. If you craft a normal legendary and then open him in a pack later, you have wasted only 1200 mana (since you can dust the legendary you opened). This is even before we consider the vanishingly small odds of actually opening the same legendary in a pack (with so many legendaries in GvG chances are low that you will get the exact same legendary you crafted).

i got duplicates of the same legendary in my initial packs i opened (posted on my youtube channel); the odds seem higher that you will get duplicates based on all the pack openings i have seen so far.  but i do agree that it's illogical to craft in gold unless you have that much dust to spare; in which case, you probably wouldn't be asking what to craft.

posted a message on Should I craft Dr Boom?

my review of dr boom is he is alright; i tried him out in my rogue mech deck.  the bombs are pretty fun but unpredictable and the body is just a 7/7.  typically, dr boom doesn't stay on the board long, so for 7 mana you eat one of your opponents spells (or if you're lucky, it takes 2 minions to kill him) and do 2-6 damage to a somewhat random enemy, depending on if the bombs stay alive so you can target 2 of the damage.  are there better cards?  yes.  but to me, the game is all about fun so i still run him in my mech rogue deck right now because i have fun throwing him on the field.

posted a message on I'm having a really hard time as zoo since GvG

i ditched zoo as soon as GvG came out; i wasn't a big fan and there seems to be better builds for warlock.

on that note, i'd still be happy to help you build a zoo deck, just need to know what you're working with.  i sent a friend request

This thread's title should be "I don't like Ben Brode" or "Should Hearthstone have a catch-up mechanism for new players?"  Your initial post should stick to one (or both) of those themes.

Instead, you are trading insults.  In its current state, this thread is useful to nobody.

quite the contrary!  this thread is quite humorous and i needed a good laugh today.

so make anti hunter deck and rofl way to legend?

That's not the point. It's easy to build a deck around Hunter. I don't have a problem playing against them. I'm annoyed that people will just keep playing the same thing like a horse with blinders.

oh yeah?  i have a pet goldfish.

posted a message on Arena Help

i've done 4 arena runs since gvg hit the arena and i think i faced one priest, one rogue and a couple pallys; most all of my matches were shaman, druid, and mage.

i still say play with what you are most comfortable with, you will tend to get more wins that way.

posted a message on New bad cards NOT bad (in arena)

i used Imp-losion which turned out to be a pretty good card.  one time it dealt 4 damage and killed a Gnomish Inventor, which then summoned 4 1/1 imps.  basically 8 damage for 4 mana.

Floating Watcher is a game changer, especially when i played a Flame Imp after.

posted a message on So, after your first GvG Arena Run...

i choose warrior since it was free; went as expected.

Piloted Sky Golem wasn't too bad, called a Dread Corsair and a Wailing Soul for me
Shieldmaiden and Siege Engine were ok, but died to starfall/starfire (played a few druids) so they didn't get me anywhere.  she did get me up to 21 armor one game 'cause i got to brew her back.
