posted a message on new player seeking lessons

What kind of decks have you enjoyed playing or watching these past few months? Aggro, control, tempo, midrange?

Start with that and then choose a class that you think best represents your playstyle. After that you can start building your deck, analyzing synergies, mulligans and strategies.

People in this site are ready to answer all of your questions (dont mind the trolls, these guys are everywhere). I'm more than happy to help, I play on EU Aizen#2772.

posted a message on FINALLY!!! FINALLY!!! NERFS ARE COMING!!!

Most of the nerfs fell allright, but Polkelt nerf seems a little forced. Especially for aggro DH, you will now play the card on perfect curve since you want that Skull to come precisely on turn 6 to trigger the outcast effect.

posted a message on Are you a bad player if you havent reached legend once for 6 years?

Bad player? Definitely not. Reaching Rank 2 means that with enough time and a little bit of luck you can reach legend for sure. Reaching legend is just grinding which by default takes a lot of time. Time that not everybody has, especially if job, family, studies etc are involved. Just enjoy the game, keep playing and eventually you'll get there.

    I don't wanna start a flame war here....but I don't understand two things...

    1. Why such hate for hearthstone

    2. Why people who hate it so much are hanging around this forum..

My thoughts exactly. It's not like people are forced to log in and play the game, any game for that matter.

You don't like a game or the turn it has taken? Uninstall it and never mention it again. Take a long break and try other games, I'm pretty sure you'll find something of your taste.

But instead of doing that, people come in here and waste their time just to say how much they hate HS and/or what a shitty game it is. In what may is the biggest HS forum right now. Truly amazing.

Guys do yourselves a favor and grow up. Find a hobbie you truly enjoy -because for the majority of the people in here that's what HS is, and nothing more- and stop consuming energy on pointless statements.

posted a message on What is the best rogue deck currently?
    Quote from hillandder >>
    Quote from Jaturna >>

Right? Starting to feel that way. Thinking about hanging up this random ass game. Can't seem to climb with any rogue deck. Whenever I play I feel like I'm playing with a handicap.

Druid can play the most powerful 7 manas card in the game history in turn 3 and is fine, not a single nerf in that BS.

Hunter can have insanely OP undercosted minions with hero power sinergy, even better with the 1 mana minion making the hero power 0 mana, 1 mana 1/3 minion can free kill a 2 health minion in turn 1 or 2, a 2 manas 2/3 beast tag can draw and play for free a secret getting insane value and tempo and a 4 manas 3/5 free 5 damage, all of them with permanent effects if not removed and is fine, not a single nerf in that BS.

Rogue? Every time a single deck of rogue manage to reach the Tier 2 spot is nerfed to oblivion:

    Highlander? Nerf Alex.

    Galakrond? Nerf Galakrond.

Hyper aggro? Nerf the card draw.

Rogue not allow to have a single competitive deck even when other classes have way more broken cards untouched.

Why they hate rogue so badly is something beyond my understanding.

What you mention is true, but with a big difference. All these decks have their counters, decks from which they lose almost hands down.

Spell Mage and Priest counter Druid easily -and let's not forget Animals Druid is one of the most inconsistent decks out there atm- Just look at what happened at the GM yesterday. Bomb Warrior feasts on Hunters and so on.

Meta is in on of the healthiest states its has ever been, with 8/10 decks being played on ladder. Personally the last time I saw this was when Witchwood launched and before the nerfs started.

Whenever rogue reaches tier 1 with a deck though, it is unstopppable. Pre-nerf Gala could draw 0 mana Edwin, Togwaggle, etc. And don't even get me started on pre-nerf quest rogue. That thing was an insta-concede for the opponent during its reign.

What I'm trying to say is that every deck has its turn to shine, you can't have all 10 decks at the same power level at the same time. Rogue is surely not as powerful as it was, but it's still tier 1-2. A lot of high legend streamers still play rogue and the class will continue to have its place in the meta at least until the next expansion.

Pick a tier 1 deck and get lucky. Don't fool yourself into thinking anything else matters.

Get lucky??? thats not how you get to legned lol

Like all games -especially the ones involving RNG- luck does play a significant part. Not in the long-term though.

    Its based mmr no rank

True, but the needed MMR usually translates to around 1,5K legend.

posted a message on Back From Hiatus

Let's say for example that you pick a deck with a win ratio of 55%. In the old system, if you started from rank 5 zero stars you would need 47 games to hit legend give or take.

In the new system though, you need around 29 games to achieve the same result, we're talking about a difference of 18 games. Now this fact combined with the shifting of meta onto a more aggro orientation confirms your point.
