I don't want to read through 14 pages.

Eadric the Pure dust it or not?

No. Control Warrior is pretty big right now.

Playing him after Varian is VERY satisfying :)

Edit: Never mind I'm an idiot.

Other than schtomping Varian though, how is he? Because honestly Consecrate + Equality will do the same job.

Dont dust, he is one of top legendaries out of tgt.  Truly the only thing better than having two aldoors in your deck is having 3 ;).  He is a direct answer to legendaries given to classes like warlock, warrior, druid and priest who all want to get out their big guys and kill you.  getting to neutralize them with one card, eadric, instead of having to rely on drawing into two, equality+consecrate is very nice.  He also is great to follow up with something like enter the coliseum like i said above.

Eadric is great against midrange and control.  He and aldoor combo nicely with enter the coliseum.

If you are talented and have a good portfolio and resume, sure, you will always find work, but you will have to pick up and move several times throughout your carreer.  The games industry is also reaching a dangerous threshold imho.  The better consoles get, the more artists you have to hire since every piece of art in the game will now take several days longer to reach the new quality standards.  the more artists you have, the bigger the budget of the game.  The bigger the budgets get, the more expensive games get either through more expensive or rampant dlc, or bigger buy ins on the sticker price of games.  Of course we could see vast improvements in the technology and accessibility at competitive prices of things like 3d scanners and mocap that would vastly reduce the budget of games in some areas.  I guess time will tell, but really my point is, that demonizing the guys who work on these games is ridiculous.  The guys actually design the game are hard working people who pour their souls into them and work ridiculous hours to bring us games like hearthstone that we love.  These guys are average joes who drive economy cars.

There are plenty of avenues for free to play,  I don't understand why this is an issue?  If blizz made it too easy to get tons of packs then they would never make any money off hearthstone.  Also, Its not evil to want to make a profit.  This game was made by a small group of devs, they deserve to be rewarded.  As someone who is involved with artists in the games industry, its a very tough job to have.  You work crappy hours, usually start at crap pay and get paid a pittance of what the game actually hauls in.  I hope these guys continue to see success and have steady employment because god knows the gaming industry is tough place to work in right now.

I completely agree with you.  All game developers have it rough and work hard in their field, though Blizzard not so much since they're already such an established company.  It's completely alright to have a F2P model for Hearthstone and try to make the game work for most players.  It's also completely alright for F2P players to refuse to support the game by never spending money, but a line is crossed when F2P players start to badger and insult Blizzard because all of a sudden they think F2P is too difficult.

I don't agree with game developers having it rough. I don't know what you exactly mean with "rough" but just take a look at this forum: http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/55005-blizzards-monthly-hearthstone-revenue-20m

Blizzard is a publisher, the people who make hearthstone are a small team of devs who develop software for blizzard to sell.  They get paid a pittance.  I don't have any friends over there, but generally speaking the entry level job as an artist makes around 25-30k a year and it takes 5 years generally to earn any sort of significant salary increase.  Also in the industry right now, layoffs happen way too frequently and studios close and open as fast as you can blink.  Its bad to be the people who make the games, not the publishers like blizzard who take the lion's share of the profit.  That's why indie games are so abundant right now.  Designers get tired of the bs from publishers so they start their own little companies and self publish games.

posted a message on How long does it take for a meta to be settled upon?

The first 2 weeks of gvg you had people playing all kinds of weird decks, the first week is the weirdest though.  Of course on ranked you will still have the tryhards playing things like facehunter etc. etc.  but the first two weeks are pretty dang fun(if you get most of the cards day one).  It took more than a month for gvg to fully settle.  My prediction is this expansion will settle more quickly than the last, with maybe a few cards that have their hidden potential figured out a little more than a month after release.  It will definitely be very fun though, you hopped on at a good time, gvg was a blast to experience during the first several weeks and i have no doubt tgt will be the same.

He made me realise how mediocre The Mistcaller actually is. Not downright terrible, but not the big Shaman savior people claim it is.

I would love to hear what he has to say about Healing Wave. Probably the strongest, playable card revealed in my opinion.

I think its possible people could be wrong about mistcaller only being ok.  Shaman, even after the great new tools they got, depend heavily on eeking out huge value from cards they drop.  and extra 1/1 in every other card they drop from their hand could be huuge.  Think about belchers for instance, they now trade into 4 health minions and it has 6 health, thats insane.  The potential to trade up and into more minions is pretty huge for shamans i think, not to mention it goes well with windfury too.  al akir with one rockbiter is now a savage roar combo.

Yeah, there are some great goldens in this batch.  I'm really digging tuskar totemic.  Probably an auto include in my shaman decks for the first few weeks of tgt.

It depends, if varian is at the bottom, his battlecry becomes take 6 fatigue damage.  If you don't play him the turn you draw him, he is likely unplayble at that point.  your next turn he deals 9, and the turn 3 he does 12.  maybe you can play him turn after, but 2 and 3 turns after his battlecry is essentially conecede the game.

I want to clarify my position on free to play players.  I am not saying hearthstone doesn't need them, or that they need to be expelled from the game.  What I am saying however, is that free to play players have no right to complain about pay to win.  People who buy the cards support the game with actual revenue.  Of course they are going to be rewarded for that with more cards.  They are not paying to win, they are paying for access to the cards immediately.  If you don't like having to grind out against people who buy cards then maybe you should consider buying packs??

Back to the topic at hand. I  have no issue seeing crap cards get buffed like this.  the cards are still crap and will see little to no play save for the tuant card maybe in pure taunt decklists.  I also think that blizzard will utilize cards like magma rager in future expansions through tribes and stuff making the issue right now a non issue.  Magma rager is one of the most flavorful cards in the game and looks so cool golden.  They will without a doubt introduce a gimmik or tribe that at least makes him(or her?) semi playable in the future.

Saying that F2P players have no right to complain about P2W (or Pay to Accelerate) is a weird argument. Where are people supposed to draw the line, then? Is 1 paid Arena run or 2 packs bought enough so that complaints are suddenly "acceptable"? Not everybody who's argumenting against P2W is a F2P player. I actually put quite a lot of money into Hearthstone. I want to make more of my friends play the game and Blizzard is making this harder for me by releasing cards like Dr. Boom, Ice Rager and Evil Heckler.

I wish I could be as optimistic as you about Blizzard making old cards playable again later but since Blizzard is now "replacing" cards for the second time I kind of lost my hope in that. Increasing the backlash against those replacements, as a customer, is what I'm trying to do so that I can enjoy Hearthstone together with both my F2P and paying buddies.

I think the answer to making hearthstone friendly to new players, and i like you have friends who find it difficult to play as new players. has nothing to do with increasing rewards for free to play or somehow making things more difficult for paying players.  It has everything to do with the outdated game modes they have.

To start, casual should just be renamed to warmup for ladder.  Most of the decks there are cancerous and hardcore lists being played by people before they try to rank with them.  What needs to happen is blizzard either needs to introduce custom games where people can construct decks with all the cards and play against each other and play with custom rules.  thats a pipe dream though.  To solve free to play players and new players issues i think specific matchmaking modes need to be implemented with limited lists.  Basic cards only, basic and gvg only, basic and adventure only, etc or something like that.  things catered to people who can't keep up in metas playing lists that require cards from many different sets.  With the changes to arena i think it makes it even tougher for players to get cards from new sets now since the packs are randomized which makes limited play lists even more important to the free to play and new player experience imho.

.....All these people talking about business practices, how it screws over free to play, and the pay to win BS, gtfo.  You free to play players don't support the game period.  Its the people who spend real money on packs that enable you folks to continue playing the game, and getting new expansions.  If you don't like the fact that the free basic set is getting slightly better cards that you might have to pay money, or precious dust for, then don't play, or actually support the game you love and buy a few damn packs.  Jesus.  Free to play players have no right to complain about pay to win because the reality is the players with all those cards that paid for them support you guys and let you play this game free.  Hearthstone cannot exist without people spending money on it.
