Probably not as often as when Odyn is played. Or Sif but then you don’t have time to concede then.

Nevermind, found it. It’s an excavation treasure.

Was eagerly looking for the patch to see an end to Druid. Turns out the new fatigue version is even more aggravating to play against, team 5 outdid themselves once again.

Legendary being available once in a deck has loss all meaning since it can be copied so much. I agree with you in that point.

I think Tony is more useful that way. Keeping him on board without jailer was impossible anyway.

Play to win card: Odyn. Those genius at Team 5 did it again. They need to do a lot more firing if there’s any chance to salvage that game.

    Lord Jarraxus

Is it possible to include Jaraxxus in current meta for Warlock? I’ve never figured a way to make it work (at diamond 5-2).

If we start making threads about each deck which isn’t viable we won’t talk about anything else :). If you think it sucks, just don’t play it. I personally have a hard time facing Control Priest with Warlock.

posted a message on The state of bots in Standard is absolutely pathetic.

Third party bots usually rely on Death Knight , I’ve never seen anything else. Warrior, Warlock and Druid aren’t as efficient I would imagine and require more versatility (even Druid). Death Knight bot strategy is always fill the board and then buff for lethal. It’s simple, quick and efficient. Druid is similar but slightly more complex (talking about the drums one).

The bots situation is better now than before. I used to face bots all the way to platinum. I wish I could find the screenshot but a streamer reached legend on bots iirc. Don’t believe people telling you it’s a bronze thing, it’s not true and disinformation.

I’m not saying playing Odyn and then armor up for lethal requires a lot of skill, just that as far as I know, it’s not a strategy used by bots. Bots are trained for quick matches with quick resolution and death knight seems the way to go. It demonstrate playing aggro requires very basic skill however, since Death Knight used to reach platinum by using the exact same strategy regardless of the opponent.

If you’re playing Druid in order to fill the board on turn 6/7 with 4/6 treats taunt… I wonder what tue fun is. It’s always the same dumb thing, over and over again. There’s no adapting to anything, just follow the motion. What’s the fun in that. No challenge, nothing. I’m surprised bots don’t use that script, it’s so simple.

So your take away is that bots don’t make it to legend and are therefore not a problem.

That’s not it. Try again. You can do it.

Seeing as you’re being upvoted on this, I need to know.

Where’s the enjoyment in winning without any challenge? I’m referring to those easy bot-wins. Suppose you reached Legend or high legend facing those bots, what have you achieved?

Let’s take things one step further. Suppose the community is looking for easy wins, why not cut out the multiplayer element and focus on everyone just facing the same third-party bots which use the same A.I. strategy?

Suppose we were to do this, how long would the game survive with this kind of mechanic? Would people find that fun?

I’m talking about the third-party bots here, not the more elaborate Blizzard bots.

Here’s my take: nobody would play Hearthstone if it was only about winning against bots for quote “easy wins”,  not even people who don’t see the issue with bots. I’d say the real question is: when did winning become important than overcoming a challenging opponent? It’s more a psychological thing than about the game itself but that’s certainly a rabbit hole worth exploring.

I hope this gives you a better understanding as to why the “but bots are just easy win” mentality isn’t healthy when it comes to a competitive game. Interestingly, the obsession to win is also what fuels bot-users and the third party bot-economy. Again, this is more a psychological/cultural issue than something Hearthstone related.

No. No they’re not. You’re confused and misinformed. This was discussed by blizzard itself in a blog. There’s a distinction between Blizzard bots and third part bots. Please go ahead and read about it. The information is right there, at your fingertips:

We’ve seen some frustration recently with increased bots in some aspects of Hearthstone. We take botting very seriously; we hear you and we’re acting on it.

We’ve seen a marked increase in third-party botting over the past several months. We already do regular, massive ban waves for bots, and we’re working to scale up our response to match the influx of new bot accounts. So far this year we’ve banned hundreds of thousands of accounts for botting—and we’re ramping up our efforts. We also have people working on solving this problem on a systematic level.

We can’t share more at this time. We have a general policy against explaining our cheating investigations or actions, because we have found that every time we share information about the process, that just helps the cheaters get more sophisticated, making the problem worse in the long run.

You can continue to help by using the in-game reporting function to report suspected bots. It helps us track down and eliminate these accounts. Another way you can help is by stomping these bots whenever you face them on the ladder. While you do that, know that we’re fighting them right alongside you.
