I've seen two other alternatives - Murloc and Young Dragonhawk versions. I too don't have the DK, but neither am I having luck with these 2 types of decks.
It's likely a bot if you're playing that late. They turn on their bot that just goes face and sadly it wins them games.
I'm here to complain about the paladin vs Lich King encounter pretty much impossible from an RNG point of view. Never draw what I need after 20 tries, or obliterates all the biggest threats in one turn. Not to mention the constant board that develops for the opponent thanks to yourself.
They already have the tracking in place, just no action aside from the once a year nerf or the more recent hall of fame move.
I think the current tavern brawl might be a good way to implement a new "casual mode". Just basic/classic cards and no epics/legendaries. That way it's balanced for everyone, including new players who don't have a vast collection. Commons/Rares are really cheap and you're always getting them from the classic packs from other brawls.
This way, there's no epics/legendaries so people can't complain about F2P vs P2W. There's no pirates aside from southsea deckhand + cold blood (which is probably the only aggressive combo you'll ever face). Murloc synergy isn't a thing anymore (Warleaders aren't there, no buffs, no new murloc cards). Mages turn into a basic Innkeeper provided deck that everyone starts out with and has played at the beginning of their hearthstone experience. So on and so on.
I accept anyone that's not playing aggro. Usually it's a really good match whether because we're both playing something that isn't Murlocs/Aggro, or it's a really close game.
The only instance where I don't accept people is if they play aggro and probably want to rub it in or emote spammers.
Mages and Druids are really the most uninteractive classes you can play against, which is everything I'm facing at Rank 1. If not for these two classes I would finally be legend.
Mages and up to 3-4 Ice Blocks, then a miracle discovery happens and you're dead. Mage I can tolerate since all you do is put in an Eater of Secrets and you stop facing them.
Druid on the other hand is just utter stupidity. They're near death? Let's just drop an Auctioneer on the board, wait until the rope almost ends while they gain 5 extra mana, a ridiculous board, and an extra 13 armor. Not even gonna talk about Turn 1 double innervate, Fledging into corsair and MotL.
What's the point of running 2 Golakka crawlers if you never draw them against pirate warrior or when you do draw them, it's only against classes like mage or priest?
It's really this bullshit that matches you against opponents that have an advantage versus the deck you picked every single time you press play.
Or the nutty draws that people have. Every time I play against a hunter they just crush me even though I should be favored. Every time I play hunter though, it's always a 5-7 loss streak with no wins after which I just change decks.
Honestly if it wasn't for reaching Rank 3, being close to legend, and never having gotten legend before due to all the shitty L200-1000 gatekeepers I wouldn't be this bothered with Hearthstone and what I face. I'd rather be sitting here enjoying Gwent where there's no concept of face, no aggro decks, no limit on rewards, every match you get 10% of a pack (keg), and actual thinking/strategy involved.
No, instead I'm sitting here like an idiot, falling for Blizzard's scheme.
Playing an anti-aggro deck and just got into Rank 3. Play the same pirate warrior with insane curve twice in a row to go back to rank 4. "Astonishing".

Matchmaking is everything wrong with this game.
-Queue Deck A which counters Deck B, only to face Deck C which counters Deck A.
-Queue Deck B which counters Deck C, only to face Deck A which counters Deck B.
-Queue Deck C which counters Deck A, only to face Deck B which counters Deck C.
-Repeat.

It works, but the condition is only leaving up one of the spirits via brawl rather than the full board.

Paladin is the dumbest matchup vs lich king, but I finally did it. Fuck you Arthas.

Priests and druids are such cancer.

Hopefully you never face arena matches like this: https://hsreplay.net/replay/5hB3DMhk3gDFCz6R2jBiYA
1. Opponent priest Drakonid Operative's and picks your Cabalist Tome.
2. Uses Tome and gets a 2nd tome. Uses the 2nd tome to get a 3rd tome. Tomes yield flamestrike, blizzard, frost nova, secrets.
3. Perfect Arcane Missiles that might have helped change direction of the game?
4. BM's you until near fatigue and still gets away with it.
5. Almost forgot about the topdecks.

Finally hit legend for the first time. Time for fun & experimental decks.

The one thing I hate about facing (and playing) druid is Malfurion. All his emotes, the way he looks, just everything about him.
Blizzard needs to hurry up and release a skin to patch the mistake that is Malfurion.
