Wailor posted a message on Quest Givers Anonymous: Phase One, Discussion ThreadPosted in: Fan CreationsOkay, sorry for the double post, but I have come up with an idea.
What if, instead of Orcs invading Azeroth, Humans invaded Draenor? In this scenario, you'd have to help Anduin Lothar to fight several races living in Draenor in order to conquer this planet.
However, I'm not sure which of the following approaches I should follow:
- The Humans are the ones corrupted by the Demons (and not the Orcs).
- Neither the Orcs or Humans are corrupted by Demons. Maybe Demons could be the last wing, but they're still a minor force in Draenor, which is still a healthy world.
- Demons have already corrupted Orcs (or at least a faction of them) and Draenor is alredy the desolated wasteland we all know and love.
I find the first scenario very interesting, but it means several iconic races (such as the Broken Ones) won't make any sense at all. Plus, a non-desolated Draenor doesn't look like Draenor.

Ozruk
Throwback to Ozruk hype season. I have very clear memories of "this card was insane in testing!" that were not reflective of how it turned out. Mechanics wise ya only get one Ozruk because they fuse before the others can trigger to give you an Ozruk.

I think it’d be worth our time to ask them if there’s anything they’d be willing to say hasn’t worked out that seemed really promising in testing, like Joust or similar, and how that’s affected their theorycrafting.
also, and this is more for the design community, will they ever hold a design competition for the actual games? A lot of TCGs have done this in the past and Hearthstone already has a really strong design community.

Guess I'll post my idea first. Art is not in it's final decided order.
I found my biggest issue with the various Galakronds' is none of them did anything particularly new or interesting, something that was both a strength and weakness of his predecessor hero cards. Blackhand forces two adjacent enemy minions to share all damage (If they're hit with a Whirlwind, they both take two, if one's hit with a Fiery War Axe, they both take 3) and pressures board hard, in a unique way. The invoke card welds the chosen minion randomly to an adjacent one, then deals damage. Welds cannot be stacked.

Congratulations to Filipter33!

Zerug Rush!
Felhound Portal for reference. 2/2 Rush for flavor, 3m stealth for utility. It only triggers on enemies because otherwise I'm almost certain it could go infinite. She's a slow value generator or good to help a trade early game with some added catchup hounds.

Congrats to Hikarigami for their win!

Annorei: Nice meme, highly overpowered.
Hikarigami: I do think that the previously suggested "First spell a turn" suggestion would help rebalance this. My other suggestion would be that this weapon loses durability to give a Spell extra damage equal to it's cost, then probably drop it's durability to 9 (If you make it conditional then we don't have 20 damage Pyroblast shenanigans). This keeps the flavor for Fireball whilst removing the issue of 0-cost spells and also making Arcane Missiles not an insta kill. Like the concept overall.
ScorpionSw: I do like the idea of making Pure Paladin into a new form of Highlander or non-2 cost deck. I'd stress though that there was a reason Prince Keleseth was busted, and while this can't be bounced... I'd still be careful.
Rakio: I'd make it a class specific Legendary. It's more versatile than Mind Control Tech in what it can counter, so a class restriction feels in order. I love the idea of locking out 1-attack minions though and the idea of it in a Handbuff deck is tantalizing.
BMcGill: Go back over the rules, all minions are capped at 3 mana. That being said... How would this interact with Reno Jackson or Nozari? While Varedis Felsong has brought some new design possibilities, he still has restrictions, and I'm not of the mind that unlimited Health is safe design space. Consider for a moment how the design on Armor restricts common triggers, and then look at cards like Priest of the Feast. The limiter on that card is having a cap, but setting no ceiling facilitates much easier versions of the Linecracker infinite armor deck. I dunno, I don't feel it's a design space that can really be explore in Hearthstone.
GenMarleon: At first I was hesitant, but I do appreciate the idea of trading Invoke consistency for draw consistency. I think it's a decent idea.
Screwjank: I like Iceborn Gauntlet, but not as much as I like Rattlegore. Giving your opponent both some initiative on whether you have an AoE as well as the mindgames that come from both players knowing you have it feels like a good tradeoff for what is a sufficiently busted AoE. Very nice!
I'm in debate between these two choices, and also trying to figure out the balance on the Bladefist. To clarify, the Bladefist only can't attack if the enemy hero is Immune, but it seemed prescient to include the clause.

"Sure, it's the last resort Ner'zhul... so why are you playing it turn 1?"
Owing to the general inconsistency of stats between cheap demons, I elected for the Totem to be cheaper than Nerubian Egg. You can high roll but most often you're getting something that's averaging to 3/3 with one keyword. The flavor here is that Warlocks owe their lineage to Shamans; Ner'zhul is often regarded as the first Warlock in lore.

General Competition Rules
These are the rules that remain consistent from competition to competition.
Posting Rules
These are the rules about your Submission:
A Note on Group Submissions: If you team up with other people to submit an entry, you must enclose that information in your submission and none of you may upvote that entry. That would be considered an unfair advantage and we will treat it as vote-manipulation. You are technically voting for yourself, and that is not allowed. Failing to tell us you're in a group is also against the rules, as we'll have no choice but to assume that you withheld the information to ghost-vote your group's submission.
Finally, know that manipulating votes in any way is strictly forbidden. Any violators will receive an official warning, and will be banned from this and all future HearthPwn Card Design Competitions.
Posting Tutorial
This is a posting tutorial for the website imgur.com. If you use another website, the process will be similar.
Competition Process
Below is a list of all the deadlines for this contest:
Preview Phase (Jan. 14, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] - Jan. 15, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
The Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme.
Entry and Early Voting Phase (Jan. 15, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] - Jan. 19, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be unlocked. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like!
Voting Phase (Jan. 19, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Jan. 20, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites!
Final Phase (Jan. 20, 2020 [10:00 PM CST] - Jan. 21, 2020 [10:00 PM CST])
During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a Finalists Thread will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Finalists Thread, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and a poll to decide the winner of the competition!
How do we determine the qualifying finalists? We use the following formula:
( ab ) / ( c ) = x
Where,
a = The total number of submissions on the same page as the submission.
b = The total number of up-votes that the submission received.
c = The total number of up-votes on the same page as the submission.
x = The submission's final score.
The formula basically measures which cards stood out the most, with the necessary assumption that each page is about equal in overall submission quality. It will be the entries that receive the highest final scores that move on to the Final Phase.
The bottom line is that, although entries on the earlier pages of the Submission Topic are much more visible and thus receive many more up-votes than entries on later pages, you don't actually have to rush to get your entry in as soon as possible because the up-votes end up being weighted by what page your entry ends up on in order to determine its final score.
But wait, there's more! During each Weekly Card Design Competition, each Fan Creation Forum moderators will be given a Wild Card , which they can use to advance any one entry that they feel was initially overlooked or under-appreciated to the Final Phase, regardless of its final score. Wild Cards are our way of spicing things up a bit, but please don't ask to be given one or be upset if you aren't given one. These are just supposed to be fun.
(Also, it should go without saying that, while we moderators are allowed to participate in the competitions, we are not allowed to benefit from Wild Cards.)
Rewards
Bragging rights are always awesome, but as usual, we do offer a couple of HearthPwn site rewards to competition winners:
Their card forever immortalized in our Winners' Gallery!
They will be allowed to select the next card design competition theme.
And a unique Avatar Border & " Card Design Champion " Title, as depicted below!
