The difference is the initial investment of 1 mana or 0 mana. discount remains the same but you cant play a pay 1 discount 2 if you have no mana. you can play a pay 0 discount 2 if you have no mana.

Very easy to call it boring when all people want to play is 70% WR decks.
im having a blast with Freeze Mage, Shark Roque (this is not tempo BS), Undatakah Decks, messing with different priest decks. first Set of the rotation, stop complaining....

i took some time to try it (batterhead) in this deck, underwhelming at best.
the 3 attack overkill post turn 5-6 just doesnt do enough work. the Tunnel Blaster with Taunt and the 3 dmg AOE clears up more mess on average.

Released for 2-3 days and people complain about nerfs and this and that is OP.....come on people!
Play the game. just because something is doing wacky stuff doesn't make it OP. i played a very very greedy Tesspionage roque (with a ton of draw in it) against a full blown bomb deck, mind you that roque has limited healing, and lost on a 1 in 18 topdeck bomb with lethal on board. situational but if that can happen, a good Aggro line up that Surfaces next week destroys the bomb buddy in a turn or 3-4...
the deck plays a 3/3 for 3 that does 5 dmg on a 1 in 20 rate….

Interaction with Handbuff: All the handbuff will go to the Rush minion. If you buff it to an 8/8, it will separate into a 5/5 Rush and a 3/3 Lifesteal.

Reasons why this is better than you think:
2. Synergy with cards that require you to play an Elemental last turn.
3. "At least I don't die immediately after being played..." Magma Rager

A midrange deck makes it's big plays and big tempo minions in the midgame.. This is Turns 4-9. Usually before each player as all 10 mana.
The subtypes of midrange decks are
- Curve(stone) decks- The deck plays a tempo minion from turns 3-9 in an attempt to overwhelm removal and push damage.
Mech hunter, Bomb Hunter, Beast Hunter. Mech Paladin.
- True Token Decks- Plays a lot of tokens in the midgame and buffs them when they stick
Token Druid. Token Shaman.
- Midgame Shenanigans Decks- Does something to cheat out a big minion in the midgame.
Conjuer Mage, Silence Priest

After reading the latest Q&A, I saw mention of possible nerfs to Barnes.
Great. If it wasn't for fact that Blizzard balance team is notoriously known for either completely butchering the card or simply changing cost/stats. In case of Barnes it would just delay inevitable broken mechanics which certain classes have to offer. More specifically priest.
If you consider Barnes problematic, why print mass resurrect? Why print Catrina when in wild big priest is notoriously known oppressive deck.
So how we solve this problem? Introduce smart Graveyard mechanics which limit possibilities of your summons.
Whenever you summon or play a minion for you hand and deck, this minion gets flagged with a unique "number". It has its own special ID.
Whenever you play a card which revives your minions, the card resurrects from pool of cards unique IDs. IF this minion is already on the board, your attempt for resurrection will fail because MINION IS ALREADY alive.
This always baffled me. How can you revive a minion which is already alive?
For example, you use Diamond Spellstone. You revive Barnes, Yshaarj and Statue. Your Vargoth casts the Spellstone again, however this time it doesn't resurrect anything because all the minion which have died this game are already alive.
With this mechanic and unique flagged minions, the power level of many decks can be cut down and balanced for future.
However, to balance out for the inability to revive certain minions, you would be able to create unique flagged minions by creating copies of those minions. For example, Barnes wouldn't summon the exact minion, instead it would summon a copy of the minion with different ID.
Or let's say you play your Vargoth and then seance it. Your seance would create completely new minion with completely new ID. This way you would be able to generate new minions without breaking the game too much.
"Oh, but that's not so different! What would change?"
With This, you can't get into situations where your opponent uses double resurrect on turn 5, reviving two Rags or Two Yshaarjs.
Or you can't get to situations where let's say... taunt druids summon over and over their army of Lich Kings or mill rogues summoning army of Belchers with 11 shuffled Nzoths from Togwaggle scheme.
I believe this would severely limit the broken graveyard mechanics and balance out the game for expansions to come.

Everyone saying its trash. Then I think to myself WAIT A MINUTE!!! This thing can actually get every single class a tirion or a savannah highmane and if you are playing in wild than holy cow that is a lot of insane deathrattle cards you can get from this guy. You know what I am going to call it. This is going to be a stonehill defender or a caverns below card. A card that is written off by everyone as trash and ends up being rage inducing.
Never ever underestimate how stupid random effects can be. Its got 1 health, well that is the point because it is suppose to die and if it takes something out with the 3 attack than that is a bonus. And if it gives you something like a tirion, a highmane, if you are a control deck than playing around potentially every single class having a highmane or tirion is fun right? Or if you are playing in wild you can get a sylvanas, sludge belcher, deathlord, Piloted Shredder.... in wild this card is going to be stupid. In standard it will make someone rage quit by giving someone a random powerful deathrattle.
I know somebody will probably start giving percentages of the odds of this card getting you an insane deathrattle and even though percentage wise it may be low, it is really hard to play around random effects. I don't usually say this or normally even like saying this, but this card could end up being really cancerous.
