Do you know those highlight-worthy RNG moments that you can't show anyone because you aren't recording your games?
Well I just had one of those and so I wanted to share it with people.
So I'm playing Warlock in Tavern Brawl (too many portals) and my opponent had a master swordsmith and a Murloc Tidecaller on the board while I got a Gormok. I also had an Archmage antonidas in my hand and was ready to play it on curve for 4 mana, so wanted to kill one of his guys just in case and I thought the smartest thing would be to kill the swordsmith so it doesn't buff whatever he played next turn and i thought it unlikely that he'd get enough murlocs for his Tidecaller to matter.
And of course, the ONE possible answer happens...the guy just throw down 2 portals and gets Murloc Warleader AND Murloc Tidehunter, which brought his Tidecaller up to 7 attack (since he'd been buffed by the swordsmith before) and kill my Archmage.
Just to put this into perspective: Out of all the minions in the game he somehow got the exact 4 he needed to counter my Archmage. I wasn't even mad. It was just absolutely ridiculous.
Your turn now. Do you have any unrecorded RNG stories that you want the world to know?
It just feels like if this sees play that people are just gonna run black knight again, and it basically makes those 2 cards mandatory in every control/midrange deck and that feels boring
Warlock has Shadowflame, jaraxxus, doomguard, PO, Mortal coil, flame imp, voidwalker, soulfire, hellfire and probably some others i forgot.
I mean, apart from corruption there is noclassic or basic warlock card that didn't see at least some play.
All I'm saying is, Warlock has never gotten a load of great cards with expansions, but always enough to keep him aclass with a variety of strong decks.
no legendary revealed yet, but even if so, i think Warlock can live with that, seeing how it still has some of the best basic and classic cards out of all classes
how does this work on targetted spells and buffs? Don't you risk to just pyroblast yourself in the face by playing this? Or accidentally dark wispers an enemy minion (if that's a possibility)
It looks insane but we need clarity on how it works specifically to judge it properly
30/30 basically just oneshots your opponent. I think the point is that it's supposed to be a very lategame finisher, or basically a budget control card.
I mean, you usually aren't able to build a proper control deck without a bunch of legendaries. This and stuff like kraken are basically substitute legendaries so if you're new you don't have to go aggro decks only.
Also, Conceal on rogue and we might see something like control rogue that aims to just bait out removal and stuff and then one shot you
very likely, since combo druid gets the nerfs, ramp and aviana stuff will probably be among the playable decks...unless they mess with innervate as well

Maybe there'll be more synergy to this other than OTK

why pick it over argent squire?...I mean, there's almost no difference between the two, that's why it's so weird.
it's basically a minion we already have

seems like a "just because" card
it's not really a card anyone asked for, but it's not bad enough to complain about
it's just ...there

Sure, but those will probably get nerfed anyways.

with N'zoth's Tentacle and Dread INfernal that might actually work. You can also throw in some Dreadsteeds for the lulz
