I tried a more midrange Even Shaman like the one you have, but ended up playing Even Murloc Shaman. The lack of AOE in Even Shaman makes it tough to play a game that's not very aggressive.

Yes AOE hurts a bit but I've still seen a great deal of success. I see  Flametongue Totem as our form of AOE. Turning totems into buffed hounds from Unleash the Hounds

Don't you struggle with board control with absolutely no board clear until t8 ?

I'd try Doomsayer and Primordial Drake, but i ran low on dust to get Genn. :(

So actually no. Every minion acts as removal. The Eels can do some quick damage, a 3/5 on turn 2 with Cryostasis usually gets the job done. The truth about this deck is you want board control early and never lose it. Hagatha is the backup plan against Paladins and Cubelock to try and close out games. To be honest, you often lose the board against Paladins once they start throwing the Vinecleaver,  so this helps.

I don't think I actually posted my concept here, so don't thank me.

One consideration I had for countering aggro Paladin was Vicious Scalehide. Maybe in place of Primalfin Totem? Though you lose some totem synergy, of course. It combos well with Flametongue Totem, too; the healing isn't entirely insignificant in that scenario, either.

Edit: Whoops, dingding beat me to it on the Vicious Scalehide suggestion. So, I second his motion.

One last thing would be another windfury minion to have in the deck for Corpsetaker in the event that you draw Al'Akir. Unfortunately your only option there is Windfury Harpy, which kind of sucks. You could maybe try a Baleful Banker to put Al'Akir back in your deck, but that's a turn 10 combo at the earliest, so it's probably not worthwhile. This has generally been the problem I've had running Corpse Takers in Shaman, but I guess taunt, lifesteal, and divine shield is good enough.

Yeah Harpy is waaaaayyyyy too slow and just not good enough. Also Lifesteal is not really something I want. I really don't care about my life total since I expect to completely control the board until the opponent is dead. Baku Hunter has not been a problem.

I've fiddled with Even Shaman and I thought Totem Cruncher might be good before I put the deck together...then I added Defender of Argus instead haha.  What if you've got a Cryostasis'ed totem on the board and your only on-curve play is Totem Cruncher?  FeelsBadMan

Curve seems high but I wouldn't recommend anything else but murlocs for a lower curve tbh.

Corpsetaker at best will be a 3/3 taunt divine shield which is meh; often worse than a 3/5 taunt against aggro.  Howzabout give 'em lifesteal as well?  Add two Vicious Scalehides as they also work well with Flametongue Totem/Rockbiter Weapon!

Yes it's a tough call. My thought is always, Can they clear my totems anyway? If yes then totem cruncher is correct. If no, do I need a taunt? Also what type of removal are they running. I never just play a Beaver to play it on curve. I have not had a problem with not having another play on curve. Also the Corpsetaker has Windfury and completely takes over games.

Very well actually. There is a hard match-up with Cubelock but that's to be expected. I went on a 10 win streak with rank 15 to 12 which was sweet. If you get board against another board deck, such as Odd Paladin, then it's usually over. Hagatha is included for now in case you lose the board late and need to find burn/kill a full board of 3/3 truant SHR.

And yeah I beleive I got the Cryostasis idea from you so thank you for that! A 3/5, or 3/6 on coin, turn two swinging turn three can be game winning on its own

Hey all! Wanted to share my Even Shaman and get some feedback if possible. The deck has been running very well around rank 10. The most annoying match-ups are Cubelock and Baku Paladin. Anything will help make the deck better!

Seriously She is how you win with Rafaam. Take the face damage from Heigan for a few turns while developing a board. Then slam her down. Profit.

I've won all 5 of my games as Rafaam when she has come down.

Interesting idea, but it's difficult to judge these categories through pure numbers alone.  I voted 5/5 for most of them, because I didn't know what else to do. 30 Health heroes? Sure, 5/5... How can I possibly know what the game would be like with 40 health heroes? I can have an opinion, but I don't want to be so bold as to say I know better than the game designers about things that I haven't been able to test.

I appreciate your comment. It's true that trying to predict how the game may change is near impossible. I'm simply curious as to how each aspect is viewed. Would increasing the health pool help the game? I definitely couldn't tell you without testing it.
I have just always loved theorycrafting and the "What if's?" of games. If you believe that everything i how it is meant to be please put all 5's. I'm not looking for any definite answers nor am I trying to say that the designers are not doing a good job. I love the game, I simply want to know what people's thoughts are about how it could be better without saying it necessarily would be. Again thank you for your comment.
edit: Additionally I expect the numbers to be rather high. Certainly the game wouldn't be this popular if those numbers weren't high!

I really like the lack of phases.  I've played a dozen or so CCGs in the past, and many really made the turn mechanical with the abundance of phases.  Draw, Play, Attack, Resolve, Win Condition Check, etc.  Part of the uniqueness and appeal of Hearthstone is that sequencing is all up to the player to produce the best turn.  It's also an extremely watchable game.  Most CCGs are a bore to watch others play; Hearthstone is extremely Twitch/Spectator Mode friendly.  Overall, I really like the design of the game; my frustrations would be more around the balancing of the cards themselves - don't know if there has been a CCG I've played where there are so many deck types I just don't enjoy playing against.

I believe here is one of the main problems I have encountered as well. Certain decks are just not fun to play against. I love Freeze Mage but hate playing against it. Same goes with Aggro Shaman. I'm wondering how that could be fixed though. To me it may be that the problem lies with the cards that compose certain decks have either (1) no risk involved in playing them or (b) certain cards are so powerful in combination that even the counter to it is impractical. The purpose of a meta game is to keep the imbalances in check. Heck, imbalance is even good for the game as it keeps it a living, breathing entity. The problem would then be where certain cards or strategies have little to no powerful counter. Sure they all have a counter but if it does not fare well against the majority of the other decks, how can it succeed? So, i agree with you that this is perhaps the single most frustrating aspect of this game (besides ludicrous RNG on certain cards).

Uhhh... 5 is the best or the worse?? :D

5 is the best. Changed the thread name to clarify this distinction.
    Quote from hlary >>

"only one win condition" the games not about getting your opponent health to zero its about how you go about it you can rush them down with a bunch of aggressive minions and burn spells or you can control the game until they run out of answers and you crush them with big minions so really this questions quite dumb

The only win condition is the reduce your opponent to 0 health. In MTG and other card games, there are variable win conditions that allow you to play the game differently. I'm trying to see if that is a positive or negative design decision.
I appreciate the comments so far and I hope that you will continue to discuss Hearthstone's design. I have seen enough threads to know that people love and hate various aspects of Hearthstone so I wanted to collect some data. I apologize for how the poll is set up (I will continue to try and edit it when needed).

Self Explanatory! Rate each aspect of the game. I'm ignoring RNG and Match Making. There are plenty of other threads for that.

Just rate each one based upon whether it need to be fixed (worst) or if its awesome (best). Discussion is welcome!

Sorry for the huge topic, I'm curious.
