Ok, so I've played a few, well more than few really, Hunters and Warlocks with golden portraits. Yeah ok, I'm kind of impressed. I can respect the grind if nothing else especially seeing as I'm about 100 away on my best class (mage). But you show me some bastard with a golden priest or paladin portrait and THAT is something that impresses the hell out of me. I feel that the Zoolock and current meta with everyone and their trained chimp playing hunters has really cheapened the prestige of the golden portraits for those classes. I know when Zoolock was in full swing you probably could have trained a pig to get to legendary with that deck. Getting to 500 wins isn't so much a measure of skill with a deck like that but rather a measure of time spent. Hell, maybe it's just me.
Seems fair. With the gold I have saved plus the what I can earn in between now and whenever it's released I should hopefully have enough to get the entire thing when it drops. I will probably grind arena one day this weekend to be sure though. If I didn't have a good portion of the gold already put back I'd be ok with paying the real money price though.
Ok, so I've been tinkering with trying to put together a mage rush deck the past few days. I have a handful of cards that play well off one another but beyond the core dozen to sixteen cards I'm just not finding the right cards to plug in. Maybe I'm just running with a crap idea. I'm not sure. I will list what I have below and any and all comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
2 x Mana Wyrm
2 x Mirror Image
2 x Arcane Missiles
2 x Knife Juggler
2 x Frostbolt
2 x Mana Addict
2 x Fireball
2 x Arcane Intellect
1 x Bloodmage Thalos
1 x Leeroy Jenkins
Cards I've rotated in and out at various points include
Man I can't imagine what kind of hellish amounts of time and money you'd have to sink into the game to get a golden version of each card. I'm crying a little on the inside just thinking about it.
I'm a few legendaries away from getting the "One of Everything" Achievement. What I want to know is whether or not gold cards will count towards that. For instance I have a golden Gelbin Mekkatorque that I got for spending money during the beta. Do I have to drop 1600 dust to get a regular one as well to get the achievement or will the golden one work?
Ideally I'd just DE the damn thing and use the dust to craft the regular one and not worry about it but seeing as it's soulbound that's not possible. I'm really hoping I don't have to waste 1600 dust to get a second copy of a card that I have in all of zero of my nine decks.
Although I've thought about making a "fun" deck with cards like Loremaster and Gelbin and Elite Tauren Chieftan and Nozdormu and various other cards that rarely anyone uses just for shits and grins.

Yeah, honestly shaman is probably more impressive to me than Pally to be honest.
