Each card is technically overcosted (compare to consecrate and holy nova/darkscale healer), however, this is to make up for the infinite chain potential of these cards. Tidal wave is the beginning of the chain, and subsequently healing rain is non-collectible.

Downsides: Your opponent can bring your hero's health down to a dangerous level such that you can't play it but the next time it swaps with Magtheridon's cost, it threatens lethal.
