What deck do believe is stronger in the current meta and why? The newly introduced Raptor Rogue deck with it's sticky minions, or the old faithful Oil Rogue?
Or do you believe there is a stronger Rogue deck archetype than both these decks?
It only became popular after Dr. Boom. Look at the stats and tournaments pre Boom and post Boom. If BGH was so ridiculously dominant it wouldn't be dependent on the most included legendary in the game. Also people would run 2 rather than 1. However his 2 health sucks, so really he is only for removing a 7+ attack creature, and if there is none he is just about worthless. Which is why people run one.
The big minions who often have ridiculously powerful abilities in addition to dealing damage that can end the opponent quickly have been balanced around BGH. He is necessary for the game, or else they would have to change a lot of the big minions.
Also most of the removal options listed are pretty bad, Emperor Cobra and Maexxna have to stay alive a turn and not be silenced or killed to do anything. You've also listed a bunch of class specific removal and minions. BGH is neutral which is a big deal, it gives Druid legitimate removal that doesn't have a massive drawback even if it is situational. It can be used by any class...it allows Blizzard to go crazy with minions with 7+ attack, they can have insane abilities/value cause there is a threat of removal that is neutral.
Removing BGH would break the game, literally. It is one of the lynchpins in how Blizzard balances 7+ attack minions.
I want a minion that kills a low power minion when it enters into play. For example:
Card: Small Game Hunter
Stats: 2/2 for 3 mana.
Effect: Destroy minion with 3 power or less. Or maybe Destroy minion with 2 power or less.
Enter battlefield taunt: " I have got the cancer in my sights".
Would be terrible vs control decks but good vs aggro decks, right?
The only reason you see it so often is because everyone runs Dr. Boom. BGH is a tech card, the meta you saw it the most was back when everyone ran handlock (mass BGH targets: giants).
a 4/2 for 3 mana is not overpowered in any way and suffers greatly vs aggro decks. If BGH bothers you, learn to play around it.
p.s. BGH requires a target to have 7+ dmg, meaning it's not comparable to all those cards you linked in your original post (for example assassinate; a completely different card)
I realise that, I'm not a noob (I've reached rank 3 and higher many times before), I was comparing those cards to BGH with the aspect of big threat removal. Both Assassinate and BGH are designed to deal with big cards.
BGH is not good for HS but it's needed, that's the best way I can put it. I think the answer isn't to necessarily nerf the card, but rather to make it different. IMO, Hemit should be BGH and BGH should Hemit, exchanging mana cost and stats.
Well put, I also like the idea of swapping around those cards.
Seriously, AGAIN? This topic has been discussed to death just search for the threads.. Nobody runs 2x bgh so its just 1 +7 ATM target + just run many targets so he doesn't get as good value, problem solved.

I wasn't saying he's 'super OP' but theres so many different cards not played because 'BGH is strictly better.' Does BGH need to be nerfed to allow some other removal cards into the meta? Or do those cards need buffing, I don't know!
I was recently thinking, is Big Game Hunter really a good card for hearthstone?
I know that I'm not the only one, but who else gets bummed out when your opponent BGH's, two of your massive threats? Now I realise you may just think to yourself, 'it's board control,' or, 'well if we don't have this card, big minions will just destroy me!' And I agree! But there are so many removal cards, which destroy big minions, simply not played because BGH is simply better, e.g. Assassinate, Corruption, Crush, Deadly Shot, Emperor Cobra, Hemet Nesingwary (lol), Maexxna, Naturalize, Patient Assassin, Sabotage, Twisting Nether and Vaporize. All of these removal cards are perfectly fine and well made (well maybe not all *cough* Hemet.) But are not used, as BGH is strictly better than pretty much all of them. Isn't that bad card design? On top of that, there are also other good removal cards like Execute, Shield Slam, Siphon Soul and Flamestrike. So, when is it considered to be too much removal?
Is BGH balanced and the rest underpowered? Does BGH need to be removed/nerfed or even buffed? Who knows, I might be completely wrong! But when so many awesome cards are not played due to another card being 100% better, doesn't that seem a little weird? For instance take Dr. Boom and War Golem, both 7 mana 7/7's, yet Dr. Boom is strictly better!
Anyway, those are just my thoughts, what are yours?

What are your thoughts of Tomb Pillager being in Rogue, especially the more deathrattle focused "Raptor Rogue."
Or is this card meant to be for a more combo orientated deck, or.... is it just useless?
Thoughts?

(5 HP)
"I greet you"
"We're gonna be rich!"
"Well fought I concede"
Adds me after the game
He says, "lol your so unskilled hope you get cancer"
And that sums up my hearthstone experience :P

3 mana destroy a minion with 7+ attack and a 4/2 body, is pretty ridiculous value!
