Alright, week two of this, time to get hype. I totally almost came in last, so I think it's only proper to probably not take any lessons from that at all. In all seriousness, I do hope that I've managed to make things a bit more interesting, and justify some of the initial weirdness. Here goes.

    The Watcher Sentinel Set

    "Released" during Saviors of Uldum.

    Commons

    • Patrol Construct is an emblematic Endure minion. It can come down early and be protected by your hero power for early value, or later for insurance. Worth noting that it, like all Endure cards, keeps on triggering if it stays alive that long. (Can also be changed to a Tol'vir if need be) Worth noting that on the whole, The Watcher does not have a great deal of card draw.
    • Halt, Intruders!, is the same from last round, just moved to here.
    • Energized Bulwark is another straightforward way to use armor. Can be used for a quick trade, or for a big burst on something that's stuck around for a while.
    • Tol'vir Suppressor is also quite straightforward. He's meant to buy time if things get out of hand.

    Rares

    •  Shield Wall Protocol is a way for The Watcher to get a lot of armor out quickly, while also potentially serving as a plant for a spell type (like 'Potions'), 'Protocols,' to be filled out later on.
    • Flame Warden is a more impactful Endure card, and a high value target for your opponent. Ideally, taunts and its armor can help to keep it alive to get damage in. The 2/per armor clause hopefully ups the power of the card.
    • Earthrager's Axe is an experimental one. The Earth Spikes it summons have no effects other than just sitting there gumming up your opponent's board while you get it a little removal. I am very open to suggestions on this one.

    Epics

    •  Omega Decimator is pretty straightforward: single removal early, a lot more removal late. It's also my mechanic challenge card (hopefully Omega counts). The Omega name can change, I just wasn't sure if it was a necessary part of the mechanic. Right now, it also serves as the double digit challenge card, but if that's cheating, I can make a separate one.
    • Eternal Protectors is a big, flashy (potentially game ending) play for The Watcher. It helps keeps things alive, but also makes for excellent trades, if that's your thing. Worth noting that the minions remain the same entity when they 'die,' so all other effects persist. The deathrattle goes away, as well.

    Legendary

    •  Ammunae, Life Construct is obviously the poster boy for the minions that want armor put on them. He works similarly to the Dragon Soul: he tracks when armor is put on him, and every 2 he makes a token. He is meant to be a big play that can take over the game if left unchecked.

    Tokens

As always, thanks in advance for any advice. I know this is a little all over the place, but I hope there's something good underneath it all. I also hope I've managed to fulfil the challenges. But if not, I'll remedy however needed.

I know this probably isn't helpful, but I'm going to add my voice to the confusion around the second challenge. Does the set we choose have any bearing on our cards besides the mechanic we use? Are we not allowed to use keywords introduced after that set? Is the set we choose going to be the one we use for later weeks?

    The Watcher

Isiset, Construct of Magic has departed her post deep within the heart of Uldum to carry out the will of the Titans as The Watcher. As a Titanic Watcher, she seeks to defend the almighty relics the Titans left behind from the greedy fingers of mortal races. To that end, the Watcher is accompanied by extremely powerful constructs, built to overcome any foe, even when terribly overwhelmed. If that isn't enough, the Watcher can reinforce these already formidable defenses, and then exploit that very same armor to crush any resistance. The Watcher does not act quickly, instead opting to wait for the right moment to strike. But should someone be foolish enough to intrude up the Titan's domain, they will come to regret their actions terribly. Just not for very long.

    Core Themes:

Solitary Guardians: The forces of the Watcher are rarely numerous, but that is no cause for concern. Many of their minions and spells gain additional effects if the Watcher has no minions, in order to even the odds.

Impenetrable Bulwark: The Watcher has many ways to grant her minions armor, to better keep them alive. This is no simple defensive measure, however: once that armor is in place, the Watcher can use that armor to heal, deal damage, and more. Furthermore, armor helps to keep minions on the board for the class keyword, Endure (Which rewards minions for staying on the board for 2 turns).

Mighty Constructs: The proper protectors of Titanic Ruins are Titanic Watchers. Though they may take some time to come into play, as they only respond to the most dire threats, they invariably dominate the battlefield, through raw stats and effects alike.

In general, the Watcher is a slow paced class, taking its time to control the board until it can stick a few powerful minions on the battlefield, and/or preserve some from earlier in the game with armor. The Watcher must carefully use limited resources to build up power, as she will not generate huge numbers of resources. However, the gifts of the Titans are mighty indeed, and the unworthy mortal races cannot easily stand before them, no matter the number in which they swarm.

Alright, one last set of modification, since people seem to be basically okay with what's going on.

As to the whole armor question, here's one example of how I plan to use armor on minions. It is not the only idea I have, but many aren't basic-friendly (card draw, damage, even weirder stuff, etc.). I'm thinking of replacing Halt, Intruders! with it, and moving the latter to initiate.

On a lesser note, another update to water warden (on that note, thanks all for the art suggestions)

Thanks again for the advice, and I think that, unless anyone has major complaints, I'll submit the set as is now.

Let me try my hand at some feedback, not sure how helpful this will be, but oh well.

    @Ardin427

My primary concern is the reliability of the hero power. That is, we've seen how dangerous it can be to have decks built around an element that you always have access to, both in the form of Kingsbane Rogue and that bad old days of Silver Hand Recruit Paladin. You can wind up in a position where you can't print cards that interact with the main theme of the class because the critical mass of Sky'ree buff cards are just too consistent. My feeling, though others might have a different idea, is that this would have to be a pretty minor theme of the class, as well as the "have a beast" cards (as you can always meet that criteria, too).

     @JeanTheMedicRat

As you say, the class looks pretty good, and I think you're pretty much there. The only thing I might suggest is that you cut down on the number of options for the hero power, as you might wind up in the classic shaman totem situation, where you hit the hero power and get a situationally useless option. Perhaps you could make non-hero power heritage cards to expand the theme in later sets?

First of all, thanks everyone for the feedback you've given so far, it's been very helpful.

    So, the armor-on-minions thing.

I must admit, I thought a lot about this, and was pretty unsure about it myself. Ultimately, I decided to stick with it for a couple reasons: One, it seemed a little more flavorful, for the concept of giving a minion protection rather than healing/'changing' it. The more important reason, though, is that I plan on having care about armor on minions/amount of armor on a minion, in a way that I think would be a lot harder/weirder with just health increases. Maybe I should have one of those cards in basic, but there certainly will be some in initiate. I know this it's still strange, but those are my thoughts. Let me know what you think about that.

As for the cards I made changes to:

I made a few just generically more powerful. I was a little nervous about ramping things up too much, so some might not have gone far enough. The targeting thing with Runekeeper's Mace was just an oversight (oops). As for Halt, Intruders! I knew there was going to be one of these 'X but way worse things,' so there it is. After thinking about it, I decided the original concept just wasn't going to work, so here's a new take.

    Changed Cards (And Hero)

    Everything Else

Again, thanks for all the help, I hope I've managed to address some of it.

Alright, here goes. I've only ever tangentially participated in these things, and that was a while ago. This should be fine, right? Anyway, nothing else for it but to just put my idea out there.

    The Watcher

My class is The Watcher. I wanted to have a class that represented al the titanic constructs in Warcraft, as the Titans and all that have always been one of my favorite parts of the lore. I went with Hall of Origination characters to start with, because that was the height of my WoW playing, but later sets would venture into other Titanic locales.

The idea was to make a class that was defensive, focused on biding its time until the moment is right to strike. Titanic Watchers may be powerful, but they only use that power when the secrets they protect are threatened, after all. So, The Watcher's minions are strong, but also slow and solitary. There are rarely more than a handful of them on the board, but are only made all the deadlier by the buffs The Watcher can play. Placing armor on minions and removal allows your valuable servants to stay alive until the time comes to crush your opponent under the weight of eons.

Some notes: I don't do a lot of this, so I'm sure much of this is all out of whack. I will happily take any advice y'all have (and do my best to give it). On a similar note, I don't exactly know etiquette for these competitions, so any advice there would be more than welcome, as well. Also yes, I know Isiset is in HS as a NPC boss, I just choose to ignore that. Also, Water Warden is very much a placeholder in terms of creature represented. It's an enemy in Halls of Origination that kinda stuns people. It probably will be changed to something more on brand later.

Anyway, this is what I've got, and I hope you all like it. Thanks in advance for any advice.
