Why would it give APM mages a 100%? Well I dont know if you touched wild lately but most people just insta concede to apm mages since its an unwinnable matchup. Many people who play decks that can win against APM dont even bother, because the experience is so bad they would rather take the L and move on.
This idea is generally bad. If the matchup is bad, but at least gives you a chance, playing it and winning it is exactly what improves you as a player. A player won't be good enough to hit legend if he only ever had favorable matchups.
Also, lets say that I'm playing a control deck. So I would "ban" combo classes. But then the aggro player "bans" me. So I only ever get to play Control V Control?
I ended up cutting boom and super collider for a silas combo a few days later. Like you, I just felt like boom is getting in my way most of the time and the original hero power is just better.
This deck doesn't have a 100% WR against mages. But then again, no deck ever has a 100% WR against any class. Try it a few more times and you'll see that most of the times they'll fail to OTK you. And yes, I agree, APM mage needs a nerf ASAP.
To answer the spirit of your question, I hope to finish in top 100 Wild legend this season primarily using a Celestial Alignment Druid that is fueled by Auctioneer. Wouldn't make any claims as to the deck being broken, but it has a commanding record against spell mage.
Do you have a list? I've been wanting to have a Celestial Alignment deck on hand since I made Golden ones, and if you're in Legend with it it must be pretty decent.
Two different win conditions, one with tog and one with malygos. Had alot of fun with them and had a good WR within legend as well later in the season.
Guys I play wild and managed to hit legend this month. Like most of you, I hated APM mages as the climb to legend (and legend itself) is infested with them. So, I spent most of my dust on a Odd Warrior deck...been farming mages ever since. Just gain enough armor so they cant kill you.
(There was, however, one game where a Mage managed to hit a perfect draw and burst me down from 60 HP using only 1 flamewaker...so blizzard DO need to fix that deck ASAP)
It's one of the worst decks to face in the history of this game.
I have no problem with OTK decks. They're fun and take some practice to master.
HOWEVER, OTK decks should be punished by aggro decks since combos take time to assemble in your hand. You shouldn't be able to OTK on turn 4 no matter how good your draw was.
It's so frustrating to just sit there and waste time playing against APM mages because THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP THE COMBO.
I'm playing Renolock ATM and Dirty rats are my win condition against APM mages. EVEN IF I manage to hit a flamewaker, its not enough since the opponent only needs one anyways.
I got to a point where I'm tempted to concede the moment I see a mage just to spare me some of the misery, and THAT SHOULDN'T BE THE CASE NO MATTER HOW STRONG A CLASS IS.
So I just finished a game where my opponent played loatheb on a wide board. Playing with Celestial Tog druid I should have lost right? HOWEVER I used malygos to draw spells into my hand and they all still costed 1?
I'm pretty sure that loatheb's effect should apply to ALL of my spells and not just the ones I had in my hand when loatheb was played?

It's a bad matchup. Try to save you AoE for when you HAVE to use it.

Sounds like something that will give APM mages a 100% WR

Been auto conceding alot against mages this season after I hit legend. Then I grew tired of conceding every second game, so crafted this deck.

He asked for Celestial alignment druid list, not for an auctioneer list

Guys I found a solution. Crafted an Odd warrior deck, been farming APM mages in wild legend all day long!

True. But since I play wild I can use odd warrior. Been farming mages all day long.

Not the deck I reached legend with, but climbed very close to legend with it. And ever since I hit legend been doing just fine with it.

Thanks for the post lucaselias21!
If anyone wants to understand the basic mechanics of this deck,I managed to hit legend with a similar deck, give or take a few cards:
