Just no. No. Captain has never been a problem card. What you're suggesting is a totally different card, because you'd have to play it preemptively, whereas captain was best played on a board with pirates ready to attack. Notice how I said was? Patches changed that, because patches is the problem.

Not really - before Patches, the most common usage was having it out and ready to play a Southsea Deckhand at 3-Atk with Charge (and a weapon out).
Patches hasn't made the Captain any stronger. The Captain made Patches stronger. In my three years of hearthstone, I don't think I've ever seen that play made, but whatever. And yesy patches made every pirate stronger. He took captain from being a mostly unplayed card to being the strongest turn three play in the game!Anyway, why would you replace a card with a different one when it's an option to just add a new card to the game? -

Jennifer posted a message on Oh Captain, my Captain...Posted in: General DiscussionLooking forward to seeing Blizzard create a new 3-cost card:
3/3 - Battlecry: Recruit a 1/1 beast. All beasts have +1/+1
And then see people whining about how Stonetusk Boar is the "OP" card! XDBecause that is basically the same effect as the Captain is currently.
But I bet somebody will try and argue the toss about that, too. ^_^That is literally a point that i made on page one of this thread, which you refuted. Your lacking ability to see the flaws and contradictions in your logic is astonishing. The captain does not have the effect ypu say, though - patches gives it to him! Which is why patches is a busted ass card :) -

I laughed. More out of disbelief than actually being amused.
Midrange Shaman was easily the strongest deck in WOG, closely followed by Aggro Shaman, so in ONK, they got Spirit Claws and Maelstrom Portal, and then got Jades in MSG. I guess, that was just an oversight. Then Jade Druid was a popular deck since MSG release, was perceived as problematic by many players from the start, and the deck got extra stalling and extra draw in both JTU and KFT up to the point the deck was so overly dominant they had to nerf something. Yet another oversight, I guess. Razakus was the most popular deck in Standard and Wild at the end of KFT, so logically, they added yet another overpowered board clear and more spell generation to the class. What a shock, now it's still about the strongest and most popular deck in both Standard and Wild. Big Priest was already somewhat popular, so they got yet another resurrection tool. And while Aggro/Murloc Paladin was less popular in KFT than in JTU, Call to Arms fixed that again.
I know they design expansions far in advance, but seriously... If that's a design goal, they only demonstrate how consistently they fail at it.
Also, it baffles me how Corridor Creeper raises "red flags" about balance now. You'd think that should happen, at least a little, during testing. Like "how problematic is a 5/5 beast that can be reliably played for 3 mana or less regardless of class and deck type?". But thank goodness we never saw Webweave for 4 mana. Guess we really dodged a bullet there.

Warlock/Sindragosa is devastating against Paladin/White King. -

Psy_Kik posted a message on Oh Captain, my Captain...Posted in: General DiscussionI appreciate the spirit with which you argue your case in this thread man, but just consider this - since patches became popular just about every single tempo, token and aggro deck has run hte pirate package, and it wasn't due to southsea captain. Now with the nerf to patches you'll see the pirate package fade from the majority , if not all of these decks. I fear he might still be a problem in call-to-arms ship's cannon paladin in wild, but we'll see.

What everybody is thinking right now.I don't want to sign up for some bullshit streaming service, or move to Hong Kong, or get together with 10 friends so we can all slap our dicks on a pig skin together at te same time to simulate Ben Brode's thunderous laughter and unlock a hero. Just sell me the fucking thing and leave me to play in peace. -

Honestly like a bunch of my fellow players, Baku is giving me new life/hope for Control Warrior. But overall I don't dislike many of the cards, but I am not deeply impressed by them either. Both Hunter and Warlock have gotten a very powerful legendary and I can see Shaman's new DK see some play but overall I just feel meh about most of the cards. I do love the Forest Guide artwork and Nightmare Amalgam looks like a fun card to me!

So Blizzard can try to be sneaky and make extra money. I also want to say they tried using the excuse, "It makes it easier on the player to use their own currency so we changed the prices". I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

The last thing I will say on this matter is there no way we can even tell if you faked that message to yourself or had a friend send it to you to make it look an admin sent it to you. But honestly if you have time to do so that's up to you. I'm not going to invest anymore time into this, for anyone who wants to join the group I say its been a quite fun alternative to join. It gives another fun community to join like hearthpwn.

So I'm a sucker for a cool animations, so I decided to make this card which pretty much makes a boulder slowly crushing each of your opponents minions and then rolls off the board. I chose to make it 9 mana because it's better than Twisting Nether which also kills your minions and Psychic Scream which in addition to putting your opponent's minions back into their deck put yours in there too. Another reasoning for the 9 mana slot is to make it hard for you to be able to use your hero power or summon an additional minion after using the card.

Everyday I see another game that makes me regret getting a Xbox One... T-T

Leeroy Jenkins is a great Legendary card that is going to stick around in Standard mode and can be used in multiple decks, so personally that would be my first craft. Sunkeeper Tarim is a great Legendary card, especially for aggro/mid-ranged decks, however is not always needed. Depending on what Murloc's you may need and you solely plan on playing aggro Murloc Paladin decks you may want tot craft those before Tarim, but it also depends on the cards.

I'm going to read everything when I'm home and not at work, but how do you feel about the substitution of Brann Bronzebeard for Tinkmaster Overspark? It does give you an opportunity to double the battlecry of Kazakus and many other battlecries in the deck and also gives you chance of creating more potions that give off that Polymorph affect that you are looking for from Tinkmaster.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed by what I found. I'm hoping they will take my idea in the future, really the way to win this one is establish a board early on and hope you can buff your minions before your opponent does. This is such a disappointment after we just had Nefarian. :(
