Dragon ramp is gonna be real. 1X [card]Emperor Thaurissan[\card] and 2X dragon consort for pally. Hmm dragon tribe might also work in druid since they just have ramp in general. We shall see.

user-18710067 posted a message on New Card - Dragon Consort (Paladin)Posted in: Card Discussionthe most enjoyable fact is that a new player who buys BRM adventure can make dragon paladin with the BRM cards and about 1 k dust. if this deck is proved to be gooda lot of new players will choose this over face hunter crap

Serology posted a message on New Card - Dragon Consort (Paladin)Posted in: Card DiscussionMuster is a strong 3 drop that contents well with aggro, I think there's room for both that and Technician. Probably not room for Quartermaster though.

suddenZenith posted a message on New Card - Dragon Consort (Paladin)Posted in: Card DiscussionEh, pretty sure I won't be playing Muster or Quartermaster with the Dragon deck. Blackwing Technician is pretty much the god of 3 drops so it replaces that. It's usually pretty hard to get off the combo anyway unless you play it all on turn 8, I would prefer to have more steady minions than rely on it.
Good point, I was thinking of the synergy of Muster with Volcanic Drake, but it's most likely not needed. Volcanic Drake is going to be used post board-clear, or sit in the hand to trigger Technician/Corruptor. Thanks for your input!

Well I find webspinner to be one of the best early drop, trades into 2/1 or divine shields, gives you a beast sometimes a shity one but there are more good ones overall so in the long run it's just really good ^^ -

user-18170432 posted a message on A pointless thread about Hearthstone and competitive gamingPosted in: General DiscussionDunno about small, but I don't see "silly" and "wacky" going anywhere.
There's far more money in hardworking whales that only have time to play their dailies on tablet/phone, than F2P kids that have the free time to watch streamers when they aren't grinding. I do expect there to be some more e-sport support, but I don't expect that audience to be anywhere close to #1 priority. So yeah, enjoy your RNG effects and minimal card text, because I doubt that is ever going to change dramatically.
World of Warcraft with its cartoonish graphics and the slightly silly take on a fantasy RPG took it to #1 (At least sales and subscriber wise, I love my memories of DAoC and EQ2) But World of Warcraft with the same spirit that is now in HearthStone was king, as for online CCG's HearthStone will probably hold that crown too in the next few years. If there is anything Blizzard does well, it knows it's audiences and how to cater to the largest masses.
And let's not forget that HS is not like small mobile game developers. Those need whales because they have small player base, HS does profit A LOT more when everyone pays 50 bugs a year for adventures because even whales cap out at 10k. That's nothing with tens of millions of accounts. So catering to the casual is much more important for blizzard.

Moutishake posted a message on [Spark] Snake Bite (S11)Posted in: [Spark] Snake Bite (S11)I am enjoying replaying this deck in this meta full of druid :) Btw, would you consider any changes since there are so many druids?
For example -1 snake +1 explosive, to be less sensitive to swipe, and counter the combo more? I guess it loses too much synergy.. Something else maybe? :D Or not :pAlso it is a really cool deck ;) Good job mate ;)

lionoffrost posted a message on New Card - Dragon Consort (Paladin)Posted in: Card DiscussionSerology, what would you say about these deck examples:
- Oil Rogue the deck that made rogue playable again after miracle got nerfed and is currently one of the top decks on ladder, named after the GvG card Tinker's Sharpsword Oil.
- Mech mage is an example of a deck allowing a class to completely re-invent itself and become viable again, but far from the only one, since we also saw:
- Fatigue mage with Echo of Medivh as a core card, Antique Healbot as an essential part of their strategy and Explosive Sheep often appearing.
- Flood mage as one of the new mage decks currently being worked on with Echo of Medivh, Duplicate and Unstable Portal to keep the minnions coming.
- Mech shaman with a lot of the new mechs, combined with Powermace and GvGs Crackle.
- Midrange paladin a deck that can exist separate from the traditional control paladin only because of Muster for Battle, Quartermaster and Shielded Minibot from GvG.
- Demonlock that was first introduced by Darkwonyx with everything from mistress of pain to Demonheart.
And that's not even counting more niche and gimmicky decks that still see some play, like:
- Mill druid admittedly more of a gimmick deck in a fast meta, but one of the first decks that still has some viability despite being way out there.
- Ancestor's call otk shaman using Ancestor's Call, Malygos and including the new Crackle to kill your opponent in one massive turn.
- hobgoblin decks we've seen Hobgoblin tried in druid, zoo and paladin among others, with ebola paladin actually still seeing some play on the ladder.
- any priest deck basically, priest has been in compelte flux since GvG came out, with Shrinkmeister, Velen's Chosen, Light of the Naaru, Vol'jin and Lightbomb all switching in and out of decks from day to day.
Just as important though, is the fact that decks changing up 'just a few cards' does matter a lot. The easiest example of the dark side of this is the way Dr. Boom has warped the meta around itself. However, more subtle choices also keep the game more diverse and fresh, like whether to run Antique Healbot in your control deck, Jeeves in your fast deck, Bomb Lobber for board control or Kezan Mystic for tech; whether to play Recombobulator, where to put Toshley or Sneed's Old Shredder. Even for cards that are auto-includes in existing decks like Shieldmaiden in control warrior or Darkbomb in handlock, both the question of what to drop and how many of the new card to run keep you thinking.
Just look at the way the meta has changed in the less than four months since the release of GvG, with everything getting a chance at the top spot, from zoolock and control warrior to oil rogue and midrange paladin; from mech mage and fast druid to face hunter and demonlock. If anything, I would say the period since the release of GvG has been one of the most healthy, varied and creative since the official release of the game.

Serology posted a message on New Card - Dragon Consort (Paladin)Posted in: Card DiscussionQuote from lionoffrost »Serology, not to get too far off-topic, but talking about the failure of GvG because not every class has a top level competitive mech deck seems really weird to me.
GvG encouraged very little innovation and very few new archetypes, it is significant that you only see mech mage and that most other decks were simply pre-GvG decks with a couple of like-for-like GvG cards subbed in eg. Shredders.
There was an article posted recently about GvG being mostly a failure as an expansion and I have to agree. BRM looks to be a lot more focused, I just hope that the devs managed to tune it to successfully compete against eg. mech mage, otherwise it could be very frustratin for people hoping to see the game evolve.

Glad to see some others have thought so too. I have always liked using him and do agree he is under-used and somewhat undervalued. Though as someone said above an aggro heavy meta brings his value down significantly. But even aggro decks are now running Emperor Thaurissan and makes it a prime target, besides the fact that in any matchup except a FaceAggro there are many other prime targets.
He has become an easy 1'of choice in my decks recently. The recent meta has made him a card of definite value and I believe he is worth the slot.

Just thought I would share this idea that has turned so many games around for me lately. Almost everyone and their brother is running Emperor Thaurissan in their decks currently. I have been adding in a good old Faceless Manipulator. Any class that generally keeps a fairly full hand like Mage, Handlock, and Priest, I have been using Faceless Manipulator.
This has given me access to essentially double Emperor, even 2 on the board at a time. But at worst you copy another value minion, at best you can get a copy of your opponents out sooner if you haven't drawn into yours, or numerous other variations. Hands down won me several games. If you can find the room in your deck, give it a try. This isn't so much an OMG so OP post, rather a this might work well for you too and is worth a try.

It's not (so much) that people look down on FaceAggro for how easy the deck is, it more looked down upon for the fact that it is a complete toss up. 3 possible outcomes to any game versus face hunter:
Either they get a perfect start (which isn't uncommon at all) and you lose by turn 5. Or you finally manage to stabilize against the onslaught, yet die due to some double kill command / ULH combo. Or they get a bad start and run out of steam quickly for a somewhat easy win.
The fact is, there is nothing fun and no way to really out play against it. No matter the game, there is very little you can do in any game, it truly comes down to how their initial mulligan and draws come out to. No skill involved in trying to counter it, it just either happens or doesn't regardless of what you do.
And we play the game for just that, and epic battle between two players with moves and countermoves, not to simply just flip as coin, and if heads you lose. Now this is oversimplified, there is some strategy, but so little... it does feel like just flipping a coin for the winner.

He does fit very well in an Arena deck. Much better than in constructed so I can see a high rating, but your right... That is incredibly high. I've experimented with the site but not 100% familiar, but some scores are off. I do think most people undervalue him a bit though, in arena it's all about value and he can essentially double or more your other minions. So I can see that score fitting.

The uncontrollable nature of Resurrection will be difficult to find a useful way to use that works.
I can see it being decent in a taunt/anti-aggro Priest, even if it's not I think a 1 of would be pretty decent too.
Most people are thinking of using it early game, but I will use it as a late game as a mana filler, Control Priest has a few late game turns where they have 2-6 mana they just don't use. Thats when you cast Resurrect just to take up some mana and you will have more than a 50/50 to get a minion that costs 4 or more. Especially if you go heavier on the control spells and lighter on the early game.
The huge RNG aspect of it is a let-down, but for such a small cost it's a gamble that might be worth making.

Everything is supposed to reset (Quests and such) at 12:00AM PST (Thats Pacific or West Coast US time). But usually doesn't happen right at 12, rather lags behind about 30 minutes. Its the same for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard games, it's been that way for other launches also.
So 12:30AM PST should be about right, as long as there isn't any delays expect it then. Just because it's 12:30 for you, doesn't mean anything, it has to be around 12 PST, make the adjustments for your time.
Thats if they keep with what is normally done, they could for all we know make it like noon tomorrow.
I know I will be waiting up, going to try to get Heroic done before playing with the cards. >.> I loved Naxx Heroic, having to build specific decks and 'sometimes' get lucky. I am definitely looking forward to Heroic.

Lol, no.

Thanks for the advice on getting the Silver ones.
Anyone that can't seem to get the Silver ones to trigger, just go to the page and hit refresh a couple times. That should unstick it.

Definitely not, even if you don't plan on ever playing Control Warrior, he is still a decent minion and can fit into other decks, especially with BRM coming up.
