posted a message on Which Adventure to buy?

    Edit: Misread post.

If you have a decent collection already go with BRM, but if you don't have any good Legendarys finish up Naxx, Loatheb KT and other cards are of more immediate impact. It will still be several weeks until BRM is finished being released. You have the 1st wing of BRM thats all that is really needed immediately.

posted a message on What should I buy first?

Naxx on normal mode is cake, you can do all of it with a basic just started fresh account (level hero to 10 cards too). The special made decks are for Heroic mode, Get Naxx first, then do arena for GvG cards. Buy packs if you want/can, but it's not needed. It takes a while not buying packs, but many many many people have done it F2P ( like myself, except bought adventures).

Dunno about small, but I don't see "silly" and "wacky" going anywhere.

There's far more money in hardworking whales that only have time to play their dailies on tablet/phone, than F2P kids that have the free time to watch streamers when they aren't grinding. I do expect there to be some more e-sport support, but I don't expect that audience to be anywhere close to #1 priority. So yeah, enjoy your RNG effects and minimal card text, because I doubt that is ever going to change dramatically.

World of Warcraft with its cartoonish graphics and the slightly silly take on a fantasy RPG took it to #1 (At least sales and subscriber wise, I love my memories of DAoC and EQ 1/2) But World of Warcraft with the same spirit that is now in HearthStone was king, as for online CCG's HearthStone will probably hold that crown too in the next few years. If there is anything Blizzard does well, it knows it's audiences and how to cater to the largest masses.

Decent read, love the first metaphor BTW, LOL.

On topic, what a lot of people fail to think about when it comes to HearthStone... Is that it won't be a short term game. All of Blizzards games stick around for quite a while and are always updated and improved as times goes on. More or less, the current 'flavor' of the game as something small, silly and wacky will change. A couple years from now, when the card collection is massive (and if Blizzard stays away from power creep) it could really be a huge E-Sports game in a couple years.

posted a message on Dear Blizzard:

The odds are a little over 1 in 20 packs, thats like flipping a coin twice and it landing on heads both times, it happens. Keep flipping and you will land on that tails... I went on a similar stretch with well over 40 packs without one, then a week later in less than 6 packs I've gotten 3 pretty good legendaries.

Just because the odds aren't in your favor doesn't mean a company, who is extremely well off financially and has never been shady all the sudden wants to secretly skim a little extra money. Besides they would have way too much to lose if they got caught it wouldn't be near worth it.

posted a message on Choosing the class for you.

Sylvanas, Ysera, Rag and Boom can all fit well into Control Priest. Vol'Jin is nice but not necessary so don't hold back because of that. Cabals are the next expensive thing you would need, otherwise you can make everything else pretty cheap.

posted a message on Amazing Overlooked card in this new Emperor Thaurissian meta

Glad to see some others have thought so too. I have always liked using him and do agree he is under-used and somewhat undervalued. Though as someone said above an aggro heavy meta brings his value down significantly. But even aggro decks are now running Emperor Thaurissan and makes it a prime target, besides the fact that in any matchup except a FaceAggro there are many other prime targets.

He has become an easy 1'of choice in my decks recently. The recent meta has made him a card of definite value and I believe he is worth the slot.

posted a message on Amazing Overlooked card in this new Emperor Thaurissian meta

Just thought I would share this idea that has turned so many games around for me lately. Almost everyone and their brother is running Emperor Thaurissan in their decks currently. I have been adding in a good old Faceless Manipulator. Any class that generally keeps a fairly full hand like Mage, Handlock, and Priest, I have been using Faceless Manipulator.

This has given me access to essentially double Emperor, even 2 on the board at a time. But at worst you copy another value minion, at best you can get a copy of your opponents out sooner if you haven't drawn into yours, or numerous other variations. Hands down won me several games. If you can find the room in your deck, give it a try. This isn't so much an OMG so OP post, rather a this might work well for you too and is worth a try.

    Check out this deck: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/217915-brm-viable-and-tested-otk-burst-priest

Essentially the same, but update for BRM with a better chance in today's meta.

Yeah a super simple class is go with shaman, with either Al'Akir or Earth Ele. Packs Reincarnate, Ancestral Spirit and any other spells. Easy and done, plus you can cast Ancestral spirit and if he brawls you have an minion to return. Not to mention EarthShock to silence or Hex his minion that survives Brawl. Its probably the best cllass to do it with.

posted a message on Why all the hate?

It's not (so much) that people look down on FaceAggro for how easy the deck is, it more looked down upon for the fact that it is a complete toss up. 3 possible outcomes to any game versus face hunter:

Either they get a perfect start (which isn't uncommon at all) and you lose by turn 5. Or you finally manage to stabilize against the onslaught, yet die due to some double kill command / ULH combo. Or they get a bad start and run out of steam quickly for a somewhat easy win.

The fact is, there is nothing fun and no way to really out play against it. No matter the game, there is very little you can do in any game, it truly comes down to how their initial mulligan and draws come out to. No skill involved in trying to counter it, it just either happens or doesn't regardless of what you do.

And we play the game for just that, and epic battle between two players with moves and countermoves, not to simply just flip as coin, and if heads you lose. Now this is oversimplified, there is some strategy, but so little... it does feel like just flipping a coin for the winner.

Doubtful, need to wait a bit for the meta to smooth out. With things changing so rapidly over the next few weeks there's no real need because anything becomes outdated the next week =). Change out Emporer for Loatheb, thats the only change I would do currently.

    posted a message on #VALUETOWNBOYS

He does fit very well in an Arena deck. Much better than in constructed so I can see a high rating, but your right... That is incredibly high. I've experimented with the site but not 100% familiar, but some scores are off. I do think most people undervalue him a bit though, in arena it's all about value and he can essentially double or more your other minions. So I can see that score fitting.

posted a message on Beat BRM First Week One deck

Naxx first wing was easy too, it wasn't until Sapphiron and Kel'Thuzad, maybe 4 Horseman and Thaddius.

You can't expect it to be super hard when you have been playing for a while and have a decent collection with a few Legendaries.

They have to make it easy enough that people with a still somewhat small collection still have a chance in hell of beating it.
