posted a message on New Neutral Legendary Card - Siamat

I guess it's a thing now where every middle expansion of the year has one neutral legendary minion that goes in almost every deck. First it was The Lich King, then it was Zilliax.

    Now we have Siamat

posted a message on You ever let people win at rank 5?

I don't think I've even let anyone win on purpose, but when I'm at rank 5 fresh and I have no incentive to win every game I can, I generally play fun or weird decks which have low win rates. It's not gifting wins, but I tend to lose a lot before I start grinding rank again.

posted a message on RoS - What are your first crafts?

My two big crafts are likely going to be Scargil and Madame Lazul. As far as epics, I'll probably craft Witch's Brew if I don't pull 2 copies from packs on the first day, but I'm going to try to limit my crafting in the first week or so. I'm F2P, so I have to be conservative with my dust.

posted a message on Murloc shaman in RoS

What about The Storm Bringer? I've only seen it in a couple deck theories, but it seems like an obvious fit, no? For example, you play Soul of the Murloc, your opponent clears the board, leaving you with a board full of 1/1's, and then you The Storm Bringer for massive value.

posted a message on New Meta Perdiction Thread

Murloc Shaman will be tier 0 for about 3-4 days until people learn to play around it. Then it will be more of an upper tier 2 deck.

Strong candidates for tier 1, for the most part, will possibly end up being some variant of control (bomb?) warrior, midrange hunter, control shaman, mech paladin and maybe secret paladin.

posted a message on How do you manage your emotions while playing Hearthstone?

I'm an adult. I know who I am and am proud of my life. Hearthstone is just what I do in my leisure time. My success and failure in this game do not contribute or detract from my value as a human.

When you internalize that, a game will never make you upset again.

posted a message on Poll: Hearthstone is more fun if you can't afford everything.

I'm F2P and I hit rank 5 every month (playing since Kobolds, so I'm not an old player). Originally, it was out of necessity as I didn't have a lot of money to spend on games. Now, I have the money available, but I'm still F2P because I prefer the playstyle.

I think many players have the misconception that F2P players only have access to 2-3 decks. I have 10 decks right now that are optimised. I'm able to have most of the competitive cards for each expansion as soon as it comes out and I'm able to experiment. the only difference is that I have to make choices about what I craft and what decks I choose not to play.

I think I would get bored of the game if I had all of the cards. I'd have nothing to work towards and there wouldn't be any strategy to collection management.

Just my opinion I guess. Being F2P sucks for the first 4-6 months or so. But once you find a groove, it's incredibly rewarding.

I agree with everything here but the last part.  When card fills a very very specific niche, unless that deck type (hyper control meat for example) is ultra oppressive in the meta, then by default I wouldn't call it a "very good card".  Playable at best.

Semantics. I would call a card that is used as a win condition in multiple competitive control decks "very good". But if your definition of "very good" is different, so be it.

Perhaps it is semantics.  However we don't know if it's a good win condition in multiple "competitive" control decks.  We don't even know if control will be any good.  Lastly,  your specification was  "a control deck that is comfortable going to fatigue".  That is pretty much only warrior.  Many other control decks CAN do it but aren't terribly comfortable there, ESPECIALLY against warrior.  Further more many other control decks can't afford to take a completely dead turn after fatigue.  Warrior can due to armor, at least some of the time.    The card has a niche that is possibly impactful in that niche.  When it's niche like that I say, not "very good" but playable.

To each their own. We're not disagreeing on anything other that the definition of "very good". So yeah, best leave it at that.

posted a message on New Mage Legendary - Kalecgos

This thing would just be overpowered as hell in current Big Spell Mage and would push the deck to tier 1. Unfortunately, it's only going to be playable once all of Control Mage's survivability rotates out of the format and makes the deck obsolete.

Without knowing the rest of the cards, it's impossible to know whether Control Mage will be a deck. It needs survivability to replace Frost Lich Jaina and the Arcane Artificer, and it needs more mass removal to replace Meteor and Dragon's Fury. If the deck exists, then this is an auto-include. If it doesn't exist, this thing won't see any play.
