posted a message on ULTIMATE dust guide for Hall of Fame cards

If you have 3200 dust you must ask yourself the question whether you want a free Ragnaros + 30 dust (from 3 golden commons) or if you want 1600 dust. If you like the collecting and think that Wild is going to be more fun than it is now and Ragnaros is always will be a staple card in Wild I would go for option 1. I must admit I hadn't really thought it through this deep before and have already crafted a normal Rag. I will have 4000 dust spare dust for all 10 golden commons though.

With 3200 you should craft a regular Sylvanas and 3 of the commons that will go to the hall of fame as golden cards (400 dust a piece). Per golden common you get 400 refunded when the year of the mammoth starts, then you DE it for 50 and you have 10 dust more than the 40 you would've gotten for a regular Conceal for example.

posted a message on March Arena top 100 Motivation thread

    @TachiiDerp I'm afraid 6.0 with 30 runs wasn't enough for a spot in top 100 in NA

@Emanon Congratulations with your (99% sure) spot in the March top 100!

@nd_ohnoes Very nice results, still averaging 1 run a day?

    @FixLord95 Sick results! Update?

My picking Shaman on run 5 instead of Warlock didn't end well, even ended up with a Curator in my deck with 0 Beasts/Murlocs/Dragons: 2-3

    Last 6 runs:
    Shaman 2-3
    Priest 3-3
    Warlock 3-3
    Hunter 12-2
Mage 1-3 (not even a very bad deck I think, just faced better decks/players)
    Mage 10-3

5.1 average 10 runs in, not very happy with it. I've decided I need my average to be at least 6.5 when I'm 20 runs in. This means I need a 7,9 average over the next 10 runs. If I don't succeed I'll stop tryharding for this month, wish me luck! :)

@TachiiDerp 66 Runs in one month, damn :o. 6.0 wins average after how much runs?

@Emanon: sick streak man! Your remark about warlock and mage dropping in quality got me thinking.

I played 2 runs in the meantime, 8 wins with Shaman and 4 wins with Mage, so 5.0 average with 4 runs. For run 5 I can choose between Shaman, Warlock and Priest. Before the patch this would always be Warlock for me but Emanon's remark (and sick results), combined with my own Shaman run might push me towards Shaman.

posted a message on March Arena top 100 Motivation thread

    Greeting travellers,

This is a thread for everyone trying to make the March top 100 list in their region(s) and people who want to cheer the tryhards from this community on. Last month I gave up when 24 runs in my average was 5.79. 19 Runs in my average was 6.26 so I was still hopeful then. I'm aiming at getting at least a 7 average, I think I'll keep tryharding until I drop below 6 when 20 runs in again.

    Stats from last month:

    25 runs, 5.8 average
    11 x Priest (average 5.5)
    6 x Warlock (average 8.5)
    3 x Shaman (4.7 average)
    2 x Mage (4.5 average)
    2 x Rogue (3.5 average)
    1 x Paladin (0 average)

This month I played 2 runs (assuming a run counts for the season in which you finish the run)

    5 - 3 with Warlock
    3 - 3 with Mage

posted a message on I have no time for games. 30 arena runs per month is too much.

My initial remark might have been a bit harsh on OP, but his 6 runs this month so far was such a tiny sample that it absolutely means nothing. Even as someone for who time is not even the problem I must say it's really a lot of effort to put into it. I gave up tryharding for the february list because my average is too low (5.79 after 24 runs in 23 days) and the actual playing time was 38 hours. Add to this the time for drafting the decks and the time to watch replays/analyse lines you took and it's more than 2 hours a day. Maybe making it at least 40 runs in 2 months would be better. I'm planning to make a kind of 'motivation/help each other' thread for the march top 100 grind on this forum, I think I got a lot better over the last month and with some luck I think I might get that sweet 7 average on a 30 run sample. Anyone here that would be interested in joining me on that journey/cheer the Hearthpwn tryhards on?

posted a message on Top 100 Arena Leaderboard for January

A few days ago I went from 7.13 average in 8 runs to 5,8 in 10 with a 1-3 with Mage (that actually had dr Boom in it, only saw him in the game I won) and a horrible Paladin draft (curve 0/7/9/7/2/2/1/0) that went 0-3 :o. As everyone posting here obviously knows the variance is huge. Had 2 12-win runs with Warlock (and one on the 30th of January, two days too soon :p). I think I'm going to read some stuff about arena drafting/watch some streamers and going to try hard again with a clean sheet in March. Other people here who would be interested in a top 100 EU Arena motivation topic like the ones that exist for reaching Legend? :)

Thank you for all the replies :) Since posting the thread I bought 2 TGT packs but I came back to my senses now, I will be hoarding further for arena runs and the next expansion.

    Quote from Blink391 >>

If you have only bought 6-8 GT packs (which didn't contain epic/legendary) then I wouldn't buy them till I got a legendary, which is 32-34 packs away to be guaranteed. If you didn't get an epic from those packs then I would probably buy them till I got an epic since that is only 2-4 packs away guaranteed.

The problem is, I don't remember. I know I once had a confuse and I DE'ed it but I may have also gotten it from a ranked chest.

I know it's 32-34 packs to be guaranteed but I guess we should always look at the expected amount right, with the ever increasing odds after opening a pack without a Legendary that should be like 14/15 packs now?
EDIT: bought 1 pack, contained an epic, the question remains the same.. : p

posted a message on How weird is it to buy Grand Tournament packs now

    Greetings travelers,

I started playing HS in december 2015, I remember starting with buying mostly Classic packs but also a few (6 - 8?) Grand Tournament packs, not very optimal but okay. If I combine the knowledge I now have of the pity timers for different sets and the Grand Tournament packs probably being taken out of the Shop in like two months with the fact that a lot of interesting cards will be rotating to WIld (and I therefore may play more Wild games than I do now) I was starting to considering buying Grand Tournament packs until I get a Legendary (hopefully Justicar). Also, I wouldn't mind getting a Twilight Guardian : p

How weird/stupid do you think this is, had you already considered letting a set being taken out of the Shop without completing your pity timer cycle may feel like a bit of a waste?
